Bianca's Request

BIANCA’S REQUEST

A stern security guard looked down at four of the girls. They embarrassed Tiffany and got embarrassed by sneaking out on someone and sitting on the floor.

“We... I am... we... are sorry,” Taylor stammered, and they ran before he said another word. When they came out, Tiffany and her friends already left. That’s a good thing.

“Phew… we escaped,” Chloe let out a breath and looked at Ian, who was laughing at them.

“Ridiculous girls. Now get in the car. Show time is over,” He called them and they followed him to his car.

Ian took a seat in the driver's seat and Taylor was about to take a seat next to him. With hesitation, she turned towards Chloe. “Do you want to seat with him. He’s your date. I can’t interfere," she teased.

“Nope. We are friends. Am I right, Ian?” Chloe asked and took a seat next to Sara and Sookie.

“Yeah right.” He added, and Taylor kept silent for the rest of the time.

The next day, Caleb walked to his locker to take his economics book. He believed he won’t make any other problems to upset his sister. When he fumbled to take his books, something slipped out of the book. A small letter for him.

“I know you are grieving for your girlfriend. But don’t take it wrong. I know we are not close friends. But at least I talked with you a few times. So, can you be my date for the homecoming? I hope you accept it.”

from: Bianca

He barely knows Bianca. She’s a good girl. That’s all he knows. Her small letter was polite, but he feels sad whenever someone mentions Ruby. He’s not interested in Bianca. Caleb crushed the paper in anger and thrown in the dustbin. He walked his way back to his class. He doesn’t know Bianca is near to him, noticing his action. 'I know he doesn’t like me. I should have not asked it’ she thought to herself, distracted herself from the insult, and walked into the class. They both are in the same class. If he won’t accept, she’s not going to talk to him again. Her self-respect is important.

“Do you know this sum?” Nicky asked Bianca when she took her seat and helped her friend.

“Anything’s wrong. You look upset,”

“Nothing, Iam good,” Bianca lied and smiled.

On the other side, “Come, sit next to me,” Elliot offered Caleb. Caleb took a seat and caught a glimpse of Bianca. She doesn’t turn his way.

“What if I told you, a girl asked me to be her date, and I rejected her?” Caleb suddenly blurted to Elliot.

“That’s pretty bad. I know you won’t do that,” he replied, tapping the pen on the bench. Elliot is reading economics even though he’s weak in that subject.

“You have faith in me. That’s the saddest thing ever. I really rejected someone,” Caleb told the truth.

“Who’s that? Iam here sitting without a date. While you rejected someone.” Elliot adjusted his specs.

“Bianca,” Caleb let out a sign.

“It’s Bianca, not Becca. So why the hell you reject a good girl?”

“If it’s Becca, I would have killed her and Iam already regretting my action. I have no vengeance on her.”

“Then talk to her. Go with her,” he suggested.

“I won’t. I won’t go with anyone except Ruby,” he firmly said.

“Please understand the reality. You can’t stay single forever. At least make her happy by going to her. If I were you, I would have accepted her.

“You know what? When the accident happened, Bianca didn’t run away to save her life but helped the others who are suffering. Such a good soul,” he praised her.

“Okay, I think you know Ruby sacrificed her life and now Iam feeling sorry. I will talk with Bianca.” Caleb finally got convinced. The class didn’t start yet. So, he has more time.

“So, what are you waiting for? Call her?”

“Wait, not now. Iam studying,” Caleb buried his nose in the book.

“Don’t act. I will call her. Bianca...” Elliot called her silently while Caleb tried to stop him by shutting his mouth. Both started shaking their bench, making noises. Elliot didn’t give up on calling Bianca. Finally, they got her attention.

“Don’t look,” Caleb ordered, and both turned their faces away from her. Bianca felt more uncomfortable sitting in the class while she didn’t know what they were talking about. She whispered something in her friend’s ear and stood up from the table.

“She’s going out. All because of you. Follow her.” Elliot urged. When she went out, Caleb casually walked out of the class. He spotted her walking towards the restroom.

“Bianca, wait” he stopped her before she took further steps.

“What?” she answered frustratedly.

“I saw your letter,” he muttered.

“And you crushed it. Doesn’t matter. I got to go,” she turned her face away.

"Don’t. Sorry. I don’t do it on purpose. But If I tell you that Iam willing to go with you, will you accept it?"

Caleb got the courage to ask her. He doesn’t want to hurt her.

“If you don’t like me. I will go. You can speak the truth.” she crossed her arms against her chest.

“There’s nothing in you to hate. Iam just not recovered from losing my girlfriend,”

“I can only imagine your pain,”

“So, is it okay? Can you forgive me?” He asked for the last time. She nodded. So, tomorrow is the homecoming. Even in the difficult situation of losing someone, they are ready to relax for homecoming.

......

Caroline was seated on her bed, having her diary on her lap.

Dear diary,

Tomorrow is homecoming day. Chloe and Caleb are prepared for it. By the way, there’s nothing to be excited about it. I already went to homecoming and prom. Iam just going to give snacks, juice, drink to the students. Iam happy to see the smiling faces of high school students. I hope it’s going to be a good day. Let’s see what’s written in our fate,

- Caroline.
