Blair's pov

I pushed the front door open, excitement bubbling inside me like a fast moving train.

I couldn't wait to see the look on his face when I told him we were expecting a child

We'd only been married eight months but it felt like forever. A blissful forever.

Finally staring a family of my own has been my biggest dream for the longest time and seeing everything come to fruition made my heart sing.

After years of being maltreated by my adoptive parents and sisters, I get to finally start my own.

At that time, it had felt like a distantly dream.

“Good morning, Mrs. Baron.”

Landon's receptionist greeted with a warm smile.

“Good morning, Racheal. My husband is in his office, right?” I asked and before she could answer, I was already halfway through.

I heard her say yes and continued on, to excited to stop moving.

I pushed open the door to his office and grinned wide when my beautiful husband, Landon looked up at me, a surprised look in his eyes.

“Honey, what are you doing here?” He asked, standing up from his chair, looking shocked to see me.

“I'm sorry. I knew I should have waited home but I couldn't wait to share the good news.”

“What good news?” He asked with a frown, turning his head towards the bathroom briefly before looking back at me.

“Guess,” I pulled him in for a brief kiss.

“Honey, you know I'm terrible at guessing.”

He frowned.

“Tell me what's going on and why you are here so early,’’ he sounded a little uncomfortable, far from his usual self.

“Okay!’ I clapped my hands, squealing in excitement and rummaged through my bag for my pregnancy result.

I handed my husband the brown Milan envelope and he collected it with a bit of hesitation.

“What is this?” He looked up at me as he took out the scans and test result.

“Just look.*

I encouraged, shifting on my feet with the bubbling excitement of five year old that has gotten what she wanted for Christmas.

He let out an annoyed sigh and humoured me.

His eyes went wide when he looked down.

“I'm pregnant!” I blurted out before he could finish making sense of the test results and scans.

I waited for the celebratory kiss to come but it didn't.

“Honey? Is everything okay?” I frowned after a long stretch of silence.

“Um…” he began but his statement was cut short by the sound of the bathroom door creaking open.

“Tell her the truth, Landon,” I heard a familiar voice coming from the right.

I turned to find my sister walking out of the the bathroom.

“Celia… what are you doing here?” I frowned turning to look at my husband who was now staring at Celia and then turned back to look at Celia.

“Are you going to tell her or should I?” Celia asked, a smirk on her face.

I knew that look. It was the look she had given me all through out childhood when she was about to do something mischievous only it wasn't clear what she was trying to do now.

“I'll tell her,’’ he cleared his throat and walked up to me.

“Tell me what?” I asked in confusion, turning to face my husband completely now.

“I was going to wait till this weekend to give you this but…”

He said, handing me a bigger Milan envelope of his own.

“What is this?” I asked, my heart racing rapidly.

There was a tension that had settled in the office space that was suffocating me and the longer Landon took, the more suffocating it was.

“They are divorce papers.” he said.

My heart skipped several beats.

“I don't understand.” I looked up at him for an explanation, hooping this was some type of tasteless prank but the look in his eyes told me otherwise.

“It's simple, Blair. I'm divorcing you. Sign the papers and oh, I don't want that thing inside of you.” he suddenly spat.

“Is this some kind of a joke?”

I snapped, my heart beating in my chest.

“Do I look like I'm joking, Blair?” His asked sharply.

“You have to be. You are not making sense. I'm pregnant. We are having a baby together.” I said as if he'd not heard me the first time.

“And I've told you, I do not want the child or it's mother for that matter. Have you gone deaf?”

I blinked, sure this was a dream. Surely Landon was speaking in another language that translated to some other meaning.

“But…”

“Oh my God, Sis, are you deaf or just pathetic? ” Celia finally spoke.

“The man no longer wants you, how else would you like him to say it?” she said as she walked up to Landon.

She circled her slender hands around his waist and to my horror kissed him.

“Oh by the way, Landon and I are getting married.” She said, showing me the large diamond rock on her finger.

“You are of course invited to the wedding because you know, family and mom and dad think it's a good idea but if you can skip it, I wouldn't notice…”

She said, smirking.

I stared blankly at both of them, not processing what I was hearing or seeing.

All of a sudden, everything clicked and it was I was thrusted back into reality with a force.

“No,” I said with a firm voice, ignoring the stinging sensation in my eyes and the gripping pain in my chest.

I began to hyperventile.

“Landon, please tell me this isn't true,” I pleaded, my eyes shinning with tears, my body shaking in fear.

“Stop crying, woman and sign the papers!” Landon snapped

“But…”

“Oh for crying out loud.” Celia spoke, rolling her eyes at me as she walked towards me.

She pulled me by my Ponytail causing me to scream.

“I don't have time for your delusional denial, sign these papers or I'll pull your hair out.”

She said.

“Let go of my hair.” I begged, trying to claw her hands out while simultaneously trying to figure out what the fuck was going on.

“Sign the papers little sis,” she spat. She forced a pen in my hands, pulling my hair even worse. and forced me to sign the papers.

“Good girl, now leave.” She said, pushing me to the ground.

“I have a wedding and a baby shower to to plan,”

“A baby shower?” I asked in confusion.

“Oh, you are not the only one pregnant sis, I am too and it's actually for Landon.”

My ears rang at those words and a

righteous anger came over me all of a sudden as I saw her listing Landon again.

I'd watched Celia take everything away from me ever since I was brought home by our parents from the orphanage.

She'd treated me like dirt and had made me the black sheep of the family. Blackmailing me and making me look like the problem but this was the last straw.

This was the last time I'd let her disrespect me, I was going to make sure she paid for what she'd done.

I pulled myself together, wiping the tears off my eyes.

“I'm going to make sure you pay for this, Celia, you and him. You are not getting away with this one. Not this time,”

“Oh, seems the little bird has grown some wings,”

Celia turned to look at me.

“I'll get rid of the baby Landon but know this, on the day you think you are the most comfortable, I'll be right there to pull the rig from under your leg,” I spat at him.

“Good-bye.” I said before walking out the office.

I only allowed myself to cry once I was finally in my car.
