Tony Woods POV

“ I thought I emphasized that I didn't want to see him.

This wasn't our agreement,” Angela abandoned me to confront the innocent Doctor who was only trying to help.

I got the answer I needed without speaking to Angela directly.

Here I was, thinking that she might want to lie.

But no, she owned up to her shit with her full chest and made me look like the stupid one.

“I had no choice, Mrs. Woods. For crying out loud, you're his wife.

I couldn't fold my arms and watch him in pain. He deserves to see his son,” the doctor explained.

I was starting to feel pity for him. At that point, it became clear to me what was going on.

All along, my brain was undergoing some maintenance due to what it had processed in the last few minutes.

“Wait a minute, doctor. Did she also tell you not to let me see my son? What else did she tell you?” I focused my gaze on the doctor.

I had a feeling that there was more to discuss.

“Mr. Woods, I need to leave now. Other patients are waiting for me. Once you're done, please see me in my office.

There's something I'd like to discuss with you,” He divulged.

He went away, leaving me alone with Angela and my son.

A few minutes after his departure, Angela and I never said a word to each other.

All we did was stare at each other's faces and look away.

It was starting to look like a breathing competition.

The only reason I haven't created a scene was my son.

I didn't want my scream to wake him up from his sleep.

The silent treatment was starting to mess with my head.

It was too much for what I could take.

“Is this the point where you need to apologize to me?” I broke the silence.

It was clear to me that Angela was never going to speak first.

I might as well keep waiting for her till eternity.

She looked at me, “Apologies for what exactly?

Please don't fucking start with me today. I honestly don't want to do this right now,"

I've been experiencing some crazy attitudes from Angela, but none can beat the one I just witnessed.

It was enough confirmation that I married a witch.

Not just an ordinary one, but the most powerful sorcerer of the supreme universe.

I stayed calm to maintain my silence to avoid causing a third world war.

I didn't trust my next move anymore. I was afraid that I might do something crazy that would damage my reputation and existence at large.

“What sort of gaslighting is that? You stopped me from seeing my son, and now you want to play the victim card? Make it make sense to me,” I grunted.

I ensured my voice wasn't too loud, even though I was agitated.

She hissed, “Coming from someone who refused to respond when I came knocking on his door this morning. You should be ashamed of yourself,”

Like the drums of war, the words echoed inside my head and forced me to rethink what made me sleep off like that.

“Oh, the liquor,” I exclaimed inside of me when I recalled how I got drunk just to force myself to sleep the previous night.

At the thought of that, I swallowed my shame and lost my pride as a man. I couldn't defend myself anymore, knowing she was right.

After standing there like a dummy, I had a change of plan.

I took it upon myself to retaliate.

My silence was making me feel like the guilty one, and it didn't seem too good.

I was indirectly giving Angela the bragging rights to yell at me when she pleases.

“That's a lie from the pit of hell. You're just looking for cheap scores,” I denied.

I wasn't ready to make myself a laughingstock in the presence of someone young enough to be my daughter.

“Now this is the height of it all.

Do you think I'd tell lies? You disappoint me, Tony,” she cried.

It was the greatest switch-up I've ever witnessed.

A while ago, she acted as if she wanted to pull down the building.

And now, she suddenly became emotional to earn my sympathy.

“I've seen that before, Angela.

So don't you dare play that game with me,” I stunned her with my brilliance.

Gone are those days when I was easily deceived by those fake tears.

But ever since I discovered her evil deed, the love I had for her suddenly died a natural death.

“Do you still want this marriage?”

I popped the question unexpectedly.

I didn't know how the question came about, but I was glad it did.

Although I knew what her response might be, I still wanted her to admit it.

Just then, the doctor showed up.

I had to compose myself immediately to avoid any suspicions.

He didn't say a word to me.

He rushed to my son and did a quick check on him before returning to me.

“Can you please meet me in my office now?” He asked me politely.

The look on his face wasn't encouraging.

It wasn't a coincidence that it happened shortly after he did a check on my son.

“Doctor, is anything the matter?

Will my son be fine?” Angela panicked.

“Sure! He'll be fine.

I just need to speak with your husband,” He responded.

He patted me on the shoulder and asked me to come with him.

As we arrived at his office, I became scared.

Anxiety had already occupied every spot on my face. I suddenly became a man of little or no confidence.

I feared for the worst that was about to happen.

He offered me a seat, but I declined. All I cared about was my son's welfare.

I considered the chair too hot for me to sit down. I was afraid my butt might explode.

“The test result of your son is out.

To be honest with you, I won't have this conversation with you while standing. You have to be seated,” he insisted.

I forced myself to sit down with a half-butt looking at him; I knew I needed to obey him.

“I am seated now.

Can you please tell me what exactly is wrong with my son?” I asked in a slippery tone.

I felt a moving object inside of me,

It was my heart pulling out.

But somehow, I was able to control my rage. “Really? Are we going to do this all day? Come on, Doctor. I am not interested in any of your jokes. Just hit the nail on the head. Tony Woods POV“You heard me right, Mr. Woods. That's exactly what I said. Are you searching for your son and wife?” The Doctor repeated the question. It turned out that my eardrums weren't damaged after all, as I had thought. “Hold on a sec, sir! I want to get this straight. This still doesn't look real to me. I want to ask you a question. Were you aware that your son was rushed inside by your wife?” The Doctor asked me again. He saw the look on my face and knew something was wrong. I wasn't the Tony Woods he has known for decades now. Toon Woods POVBefore I could stand up from the bed, my domestic staff was already inside my room, crying her eyes out. “What's the problem, Maggie?” I asked. While I asked her the question, numerous negative thoughts invaded my mind. I tried so hard not to believe them, even though I knew it was obvious. Rather, I decided to listen to what my staff had to say. “It's Kelly,” she briefly said. It wasn't the response I had anticipated. Her response to my question further increased my blood pressure. Maggie's utterances kept me in suspense, which didn't sit well with me. I didn't know when I yelled at Maggie, warning her to speak up and stop playing games with me. “This is your last chance to spill it, Maggie. The next time won't be funny,” I warned Maggie. “Kelly was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed in the living room this morning,” Maggie finally spilled. “What?”I screamed my lungs out and died a thousand times. I thought it was a joke until Maggie confirmed that

When, lady, did you have your medication?' I yelled at Angela with the last strength inside of me. It wasn't my intention to yell at her in such a manner, but she pushed me to the wall, and I had no choice. “Oh? You are going to pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about? You try to play smart but unfortunately, you aren't,” Angela retaliated. I thought yelling at her was going to scare her a bit, but I was wrong. I didn't know where she got the strength from. I was lost, yet stunned by how Angela managed to pull up that defense mechanism. Coming from someone who has so many dirty secrets. If there's anyone who is entitled to be upset, clearly it should be me.Quietly, I sauntered to the wardrobe and selected my pajamas. Right in her presence, I wore it and grabbed my pillow. “Where the heck are you heading to r

Tony Woods's POV “Oh, no. Not again. What does this bitch want from me once more?” I hissed. I felt like smashing my phone to the ground, but I considered the important information I may lose should I attempt to do that. A thousand times she called, and not for once, did I respond. I dropped the phone on my lap and left the company's premises. I didn't know where the strength came from because a while ago, I had nothing left inside of me. I was already making plans to book an appointment with my doctor to have my body fully examined. A few miles away from my estate, my phone beeped. Unlike the previous time, it was a notification. I picked up the phone to check the notification only to see a text from Angela which says, “Your son is worried about you. Where have you been? He has been asking to see you,” Immediately, I pulled over. I didn't know when I started weeping like a toddler. It dawned on me that Kelly would feel most of the pain now. My hate towards the poor kid
