Chapter Thirty

Ronan's POV

"And when he does, I will be there with my eyes on you. We are not letting you get yourself killed. We will figure out a way to save Jessica. If it's not too late that is."

I feel a special kindred toward Pete now, even more so than I did growing up. Before he was just the annoying friend that followed me everywhere and now that I know he isn't trying to put the moves on my mate, my fondness of him is growing. He loves Willow just as much as I do, just in a different way and I know that he would lay down his life for her. I wish I could say the same for Xander.

When she first got here, Xander was all team Willow. Now his grief has him placing blame on her when it is not her burden to carry. He has lashed out on her so many times that I am not sure if their relationship will be salvageable when we get through this.

"We should probably head down now. Olivia should be here any minute now," I suggest to Willow.

Pete looks to me, "Do you mind if I sit in on the meeting?"
