Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

I took a glance at myself in the mirror. Wearing my button-up white long sleeve blouse partnered with a red coat and red checkered skirt, I smirk and took my phone out.

It's very rare for people who know me to see me wearing this outfit, or should I say, uniform. I immediately posted it on Instagram which earned me thousands of likes from my co-racers and friends.

I frowned when someone knocked on the door.

"Florence? Hun?" I heard my dad's voice. The door finally opened revealing him in his usual business attire.

He was about to approach me when his jaw dropped at the sight of me.

"Holy- is this for real?! Are you really wearing a uniform right now?!" He asked, shook. I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed my bag.

"No, dad. You're probably just dreaming." He smiled at me and took something out of his pocket.

It's a phone. His phone.

"Can I take a picture of my beautiful daughter? I rarely see you these days.." I avoided his eyes and just nodded.

"One.. two... three!" I did different poses and finally, after one thousand hours!

"I missed you, anak ko." his eyes teared up upon saying it. 'Anak ko' is a Tagalog word meaning 'my daughter".

"C'mon, stop this drama dad. I missed you too!" I went to him and hugged him for a while.

"Don't get your hopes high, I'm just joining an event but I'm not an official student yet!" I said.

"Yet? So does that mean-"

"Argh! Just leave, dad! You're going to be late!" I shooed him away. He raised both of his hands in surrender before leaving my room. The last thing I heard is his car, driving off.

God, I miss that old man.

I was about to leave too when my phone rang. I picked it up and put it in my ears.

[Girrrrrrrl! I saw your post on I.G. you look so damn fine!] I immediately put it away from my ears. What the hell? My eardrums just got ruined!

[Where are you? The opening remark is about to start!]

"On the way."

[AAAAAAH omg! You looked so hot! Damn, are you really my friend?] I rolled my eyes and get my keys. Guess I'll be using my Ducati for now.

"Stop exaggerating, Eula. I know that I'm hot and pretty, no need to state the obvious." I said boastfully. I can already picture her out rolling her eyes on me.

[Here we go again with your stupid remarks. You better be here-] I ended the call before she can even threaten me.

I rode my motorcycle and drove up. Off to go!

"WHAT THE hell?! How did you come here-" I covered Eula's loud mouth before we could even attract attention.

"Witch, you forgot that I'm a racer," I smirked with pride and even put my fist on my chest.

"Mad racer, you say." I just rolled my eyes and pat her head with my fist.

"What the fuck? Can you stop doing that?!" She said irritatedly and caressed her head.

"Sorry, not sorry. You deserved it." She just punched my arm in return which made me glare at her.

"Attention students!" Our glaring contest was soon interrupted by a speaker.

"Today will be the opening remark for our annual suicide cup event to bring honor to the deceased founder of this school, Eleanor Marshall. Let us all rise and give a round of applause for him." We all stood up, facing the stage.

"Geez, opening remarks are boring." I sighed. Eula just pinched my arm, motioning me to keep quiet. The opening remark last for forty-five minutes before they let us go.

"I'm hungry.." I said and make my famous puppy eyes to Eula. She rolled her eyes and dragged me along with her. I can still feel their weird stares at me but I didn't mind it.

We went inside the cafeteria- I think?

I heard whistles and once again, received weird stares.

"What do you want to eat?" Eula asked.

"I'm craving for fries, donuts, burgers, and lasagna! And for drinks, I want three bottles of lemonade." I grinned mischievously as I heard my tummy growls.

"What the heck? You eat a lot but how the hell your body looks just damn fine? Gosh, life is unfair!" she stomped her feet away like a child while I was left alone, chuckling.

I even see Eula being approached by the same guy yesterday. Cute.

I was startled when someone sat in front of me. I can already feel the atmosphere getting heavy. I looked up only to see a pair of forest-green eyes.

"W-what are you doing here?" I asked, a little nervous.

"I want to eat here. Why are you stuttering, hmm?" he flashed a smirk which would make hundreds of ladies drool, but not me. Substance over quality is my motto in life. And seeing how he acted yesterday, he's now a piece of trash in my eyes.

"Because your smell stinks. Do you know how bad you smell? You smell like trash." I spat. His pupils dilated and his jaw clenched.

"Don't test my patience, lady. Once is enough. I will make sure to make your life a living hell starting this day and onwards." he said dangerously before leaving with his two friends, I think?

I finally let go of the air I didn't know I was holding. I would lie if I'll say his presence didn't affect me.

"What happened to you? You seem like you've seen a ghost?" Eula chuckled and put the tray of foods on the table. I did not see a ghost, a beast maybe.

I checked my hands and realized they were cold. Was I really too nervous?

"Hey, are you okay? You're pale..." Eula asked in a worried tone.

"I'm f-fine... I'm just hungry." I smiled when the truth is, I've already lost my appetite.
