PROLOGUE

"FLORENCEEEEE!" I stepped on the gas even harder hearing Eula's scream.

"This is life, Eula! Do you hear me? This is life!" I said as I let out a chuckle and speed up. I took a glance at the mirror and saw her pale face. My window is open causing my hair to fly.

"No! This is not life! You're gonna get us killed!" She shouted in terror as I drifted and stepped on the brake. We both bounced up from the sudden halt.

"You!" She glared at me and started hitting my arm.

"Aw! Ouch! Stop! Stop!" I uttered as I block her punches.

"Stop?! Did you ever stop when I told you to stop?" She exclaimed.

"Pfft! Okay! Okay! Sorry! You somehow need to experience the thrill in your boring life, Eula." I explained. She stopped hitting me, finally.

"Are you saying that I'm a boring person, Princess Marie?" She teased as she eyed me.

"Wha the heck?! Stop calling me that! Princess Marie, seriously? Where did you even get that lame name?" I complained. She shrugged her shoulders and smirked at me.

"You think I have already forgotten what you just said to me, huh?" She said in a monotone.

"Hey! That's not what I meant!" I defended. She raised her eyebrows at me making her look intimidating as ever.

"Then what?!"

"I said, your life is boring but I didn't say that you are boring! Do you want to know what makes me alive and breathing?" I explained and asked the last question.

"What?" She asked, finally calm.

"The thrill..." I mumbled. It was true though. My life would have been dull and boring if the world 'thrill' does not exist. I can't imagine myself sitting in one of a school's chairs while listening to their boring lessons, or even lie in bed and watch some news!

"How about you? Are you content with your life? Are you happy? Do you think you're living?" I asked. She looked stunned for a moment before meeting my gaze. I was surprised when she suddenly burst out laughing.

"Hey, be real with me. Are you DID? Or do you have it?" I frowned in confusion. DID? Have it?

"What do you mean?" I asked, my brows furrowed. Her face looks so serious so it must be a serious matter.

"Dissociative Identity Disorder!" She exclaimed and then burst out laughing. My jaw clenched at what she said.

"Do I look l have?!" I asked in an angry tone. Huh, let's see..

"Yes! Certainly, bitch." I smirked hideously as I thought of a plan.

"Really? And did you just called me 'bitch', witch?!" I asked in a cold voice. Her smile vanished as she looked at me, shook of my sudden change of attitude.

"D-did you just?? Did you just switched?!" I mentally face palmed myself. She actually believed her theory! Damn, I didn't know she's this stupid!

"The fudged?! You actually believed my act?!" I shouted exaggeratedly. She then glanced at her wrist watched and her eyes widened for a reason I don't know.

"Oh shoot! I'm late for class! Can you uh- can you drive me to school a little bit s-slower?" She asked using a small voice. A mischievous grin appeared on my face as I put my seatbelt on.

"Sure," I said and turned the engine on.

And heck, it was another hell of a ride.

"I told you to slow down a bit! Fuck!" She immediately opened the door of my car and vomited.

"Well, at least you arrived on time!" I cheered her up which only earned me a death glare from her.

"If I get sick and didn't attend the annual searching event, I swear! This friendship will be over!" She exclaimed. Wait, did she said 'annual searching event'?

A smirk formed on my lips as I pulled her wrist inside.

"What kind of annual searching event are you talking about?" I asked with an innocent smile. She eyed me suspiciously first before cleaning her mouth with a towel.

"I'm gonna tell you but I swear to the grave of my parents, if you ever cause havoc inside my school, you better prepare, Florencia.. because I am going to kill you." She uttered seriously. I nodded eagerly while scoffing inside my mind. This is gonna be fun..

"Well, our school held an annual suicide cup every September of nine. It was to give respect to the deceased founder of the school, Eleanor Marshall. They are conducting a search for teenagers who's willing to join the event suicide cup where they will be using different techniques to persuade a suicidal person. Whoever persuaded the most will be on the top." She explained.

"How does it work? I mean, where did they get the suicidal people that will take part in the event?" I asked.

"Why do you seem so interested, hmm?" She eyed me suspiciously.

"It sounds fun! I can already feel the adrenaline, Eula. Please help me get through it, I badly wanna join. Please? Please?" I plead using my puppy eyes. She scoffed and glared at me before avoiding my gaze.

"You have to be sure before joining the contest, Florence. This is no joke, their life depends on you, it depends on the participants. Your mistake is their mistake, and their mistake is your mistake too. That's why I didn't join it, I just helped them searching." She said as she made eye contact with me. But I badly wanna join.

"Please? I promise I will do better! I won't disappoint you! I will behave! Just let me in, please?" I plead for the second time.

"Honestly speaking, Florence. I don't want you to join.. because once one of you made a mistake, you will carry the same misery that they have caused." Silence enveloped my car after that. I nodded, understanding her point.

"Then... I'm willing to carry that misery.. would you let me?"
