Chapter 4

I sat on the bed in the guest room until 3:00 a.m. There wasn't any noise coming from Jeffrey's room next door.

In the meantime, I used the new phone that Helen had bought me and found a fairly good apartment.

It was just dawn. The whole house was silent. I held my leather shoes and went out barefoot.

When I walked outside, I suddenly saw Jeffrey's car. Next to the car, a person leaned against it, playing with his phone. I was afraid to see Jeffrey standing there.

That person heard the noise and looked towards me. It was Kash.

I pretended not to see him and bypassed the car, walking to the side of the road to call a taxi, but he followed me.

"Ms. Houston?"

I didn’t respond.

"Mr. Chaney knows that you..."

"Can you not tell Jeffrey?"

I pressed back my excitement. I was so close to escaping from Jeffrey. Why?

Kash was a little puzzled, "Mr. Chaney will be worried."

I shook my head and began to undress.
