Oliver's intense gaze bore into mine, searching for any sign of deception. My heart pounded in my chest, almost deafening in its rhythm. I could feel the tears starting to well up in my eyes, fearful of what Oliver might do or say next.

"I hope you understand the gravity of the situation," he stated sternly, emphasizing each word. "We take security very seriously in this house."

I nervously replied, "I assure you, Mr. Oliver, I have never done anything to compromise the safety of this household."

Just as I finished speaking, Christopher, interfered, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Come on, Oliver, give her a break. I've known her for a while now, and she's just a housekeeper. Not worth your time or attention."

Oliver's gaze hardened, his eyes narrowing as they met Christopher's. The hall filled with tension, and it seemed as if the air had thickened.

Coldly, Oliver responded to Christopher, "I appreciate your concern, but this is a matter I will handle myself."
