ログインIt’s been 2 days since my amazing night with Ralph.
A part of me years for him, however, I don’t know what his life is truly like. I know he owns the club, and this hotel. He’s a successful and busy man. He mentioned that he goes to Europe often. He mentioned that he frequents Germany cause it’s his ancestral home just like mine is France. I pray that we will someday soon see each other again. I am thankful for him. His passionate love making has erased the pain that was continuously revolving inside of me. I feel like I can bury my parents with peace and move forward towards the next chapter in my life with purpose.I schedule an Uber to take me to the “Whipstaff Funeral home.”
I feel a deadness in my heart as I arrive. I feel no tears though. I remember something he said to me while cuddling.“I am sorry about your parents. Just know with everything they’ve left behind, and all you have become, they get to leave this earth doing what others have seldom accomplish. Leaving no regrets.” He said while comforting me. I realize he’s right. They had money up the wazoo, it’s not just that. They gave to everyone who needed help. They lavished their wealth and happiness on their employees. Everyone loved working for my parents. They gave out ten-thousand-dollar bonus’ for the holidays. The provided financial assistance. They also had a women’s program. Mom recognized that women on their periods were unproductive due to pain and sickness relating to it so women could schedule a few days paid off during that moment for rest and recovery. My parents were the only people who would provide that. It made me smile thinking about it. He was right, the had short but, full lives, with no regrets.
I arrived at the ceremony. I felt good about saying goodbye to them both. I was not as broken as previously. Their lives ended tragically however, I had to pray and believe they were in a better place. That pain they endured was behind them now. They were at peace for eternity.
I sit in the front row with my Grandmother Charlotte. One of the attorney’s from the “Hofer Group” flew her from France for the service. I will forever be grateful to them. It wouldn’t feel right without her here.
I wore a pure black pencil dress with a charcoal coat. I wore a vintage hat with a lace veil to cover my face. I sit here and listen to my parents personal priest conduct the service. The pain is palpable in the air. They lay there still as stone. Mother wears a cream and pink colored scarf to cover the nasty scar that would be on her throat. Her outfit is cream and pink colored. She’s wearing gold and pearl earrings with a pearl necklace. Ever the elegant beauty. Father wears a tailor made dark charcoal suit with a red power tie. Both are looking very peaceful as if they’re only sleeping. Which they will for eternity now. I pray to God that I will see them again someday.
The funeral concludes, and my grandmother leans against me for support. A young man flags me down with her.
“Mss. De Cheney, I am Walter Hofer, one of the attorney’s. Please continue to the reception area. The burial will be taking place according to Mr. De Cheney’s directions in France. Mrs. De Cheney, he said that they were to be cremated, and the ashes given to you his mother so he can be buried on the family cemetery to be close to you. They were planning on coming home to you in this life or the next.” The man said with a smile to my grandmother. She cries and thanks him.
“you’re one of the good ones” she says to him. He nods back at her with a look I don’t understand.
“Tell the head of your household to take care of her, she needs it now.” She tells him. I am so confused as to what they are speaking of.
“He will milady, always and forever now.” He says while looking at me.
“Good, he needs to be here, he’s absent too much.” My grandmother says.
“He has been milady; he’s also been busy taking care of things.” He says again looking at me. I really baffled.
“Good, good, he needs to.”
“Yes Ma’am”
“Tell that Mr. Dubois in Paris, I have not seen him recently, he needs to pay me a visit. Katherine said she’ll be travelling to France soon. I need arrangements made for her. If this curse spreads to me, she needs to be cared for.” She said in a cold voice, with determination.
“Absolutely Milady, we will not do everything we can ensure things are prepared. After this event, Lord Hofer is on the move.” She nodded her head and left with me following her.
“What is going on!” I ask her in a hurry. She’s speed walking for a older lady.
“There’s a curse on our family. Ever since Gabrielle was to marry Lord Rudolph Hofer.”
“What about it.”
“There was another family the “Carvernall family. They lived in France about twenty miles from our family home. They were just as aristocratic as our family. The Lord of the house “Lord Phillipe Carvernall” had tried to arrange marriage with Gabrielle to their son Silas. They felt since they were both of noble blood, and connected with the crown, it would be a perfect match. Gabrielle, however, hated the idea. She pleaded with her father not to accept. She couldn’t tolerate Silas. He was cold and cruel. He was arrogant, and pompous. He was also a womanizer. She saw him bedding a servant. When he realized she’d discovered him, he killed the maid thinking that would make everything better. When she made it clear that she could never love him. She found his actions to be vile; he vowed that he would never let her rest. He vowed he would claim her whether she wanted it or not. If he couldn’t have her, no one could. He vowed that he would plague her family for eternity.”
“Grandma, that was centuries ago, he would be dead. There is no curse.”
“Never say never.” My grandmother said before stepping into the country club. We rode in the care together while discussing everything. I refused to believe in something so outlandish. People don’t live forever. This is not the “Highlander” series.
I sit and dine with grandma and everyone else who attended the funeral. I love that the Hofer’s made sure to arrange the food to be French after the culture of my family.
The rest of the Hofer family had cleared the area. Except for Walter. I saw him hiding in the crowd. He was staring at the scene in bitterness. There was a sneer on his face. He ran towards Rudolph at the battle arena. Ralph was hurt; he was prime target to easily kill. I lived through so much, I was not losing him.“WALTER!” I roared. He stopped and stared at me. There was fear in his eyes, he looked pale for a moment.“Oh Goddess, of bullshit! You think you can come back! Never!” he bellowed as he threw a spear at me. I hit the ground to get out of the way. I heard a groan from behind me. The spear had hit my grandfather.“No!” I ran towards him and held him as his life faded from his eyes.“I love you buttercup. I am so sorry, I never told you.” He said as he breathed his last. I cried in sorrow. I reached back with the power of the goddess I knew was flowing inside of me. I grabbed Walter by the throat like a Sith as he was about to perform a killing blow to Rudolph. He choked as
I heard the roar of pain, rage and my eternal salvation. I felt the ground quake. I had left the mental door open for Rudolph to hear everything. With eyes slipping closed, I saw the castle walls being ripped open like the wrath of the earth and powerful force was being slammed into the room. The walls ripped open. Broken, and bleeding I saw Rudolph in all his eternal glory. His eyes were the color of fire, ablaze with revenge with the need for revenge his been seeking for the last thousand years. The constant betrayal of his family cut deep. I saw Victor Hofer and several others storming into the room. I saw an invisible power pick up Edgar and rip him away from me. He flew several yards and hit an ancient building. He screamed in anger. Several vampires were surrounding me and snarling at Conrad and Silas.“Get her out of here!” Rudolph roared to one of them. Fredrick came to me as I was coughing up blood.“Oh my God! Miss Katie! Forgive me!” he bellowed as tears streamed down his f
My mind drifted, and I came back to reality. I glance through my half-closed eye lids and notice, he’s not the only one in the room. Conrad and Edgar are also there. Hovering over my body. I open my eyes; they already probably know that I am awake. I try to pull on the chains, and I stare at Edgar with a defiant look. He stares back at me. They all stop their sexual probing of me. Conrad and Silas take step back at Edgars physical command, when he holds up his hand.“So, this seems familiar, only different. How do we fucking kill you and make sure you don’t come back?” Edgar says. I smirked, then I spit in his face. He smirks then slaps me hard enough across the face, that I feel like jaw crack. I steel my reserve. I will not scream in pain to their delight.”“Why me?” I ask through the pain.“That’s a good question, you don’t know do you ?” I stare at him.“Lover boy hasn’t told you?” Conrad said with a snicker.“You’re descendant from a powerful deity. She fell in love with someone
WARNING THE NEXT CHAPTERS WILL CONTAIN GRAPHIC CONTENT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. CAUTION IS ADVISED. I awake with a throbbing pain in my head. The left side of my head feels sticky and has the most throbbing. I feel like someone just hit me with a Mack truck. My eyes are groggy but begin to focus around the room. I am no long bathed in the darkness of where I was but, I am still not in good shape, I look down trying to focus my eyes. I left eye can barely open. Whoever hit me must have given me a black eye, on top of knocking me the fuck out.I look around. I am in a bedroom I do not recognize. It looks ancient, the design looks it’s a medieval castle bedchamber room. The bed is large enough to fit a dozen people but, there’s dust everywhere. It shows, it has not been used in forever. There is a faint glow of a light in the room. As if it is lit with a torch or candles. I feel hands roaming around me. I lay still. It feels also, like I cannot move my legs? Did they break them or something
I remember Ralpha left telling me to stay in the house. Before leaving, as an escape route, he removed the stone from the entrance of the tunnel. He told me if anything happened. I could escape to the tunnel. Find a chamber room and lock myself in or hide in the mansion. I nodded, grateful for an escape I can rely on. He told me to call him if I can, if anything happens. That was a few hours ago. He said that he was going to arrange with Fredrick and the Hofer family our trip to Germany. He needed to prepare the vampire counsel of my presence as well. He said that not everyone would be on board with a human being included into his world. He said that if they knew I am intending to one day change and become queen that would settle them down.He said there has not been a vampire royal couple. King and Queen since his parents. His parents were killed six hundred years ago during the Middle Ages. Humans during that time were more aware of vampire creatures and were not accepting. There we
We start getting dressed. He looks outside and checks to make sure the coast is clear. He calls on his phone to Fredrick and speaks with him. When he is done, he tells me that Conrad and Edgar no longer appear to be in the area. I should be safe. I breath a sigh of relief.“You can’t stay here right now.” He tells me.“I honestly never wanted to. Too much has happened to me here to want to be here.”“You will be here eventually but, right now I need to keep you safe. You’re coming with me to Germany.” He tells me with finality. I look at him in surprise. I am going with him to the Hofer family estate. If he’s really the same one who was with Gabrielle, this means I am going to the “Lord Hofer” estate where he was once a person of German royalty. The amount of German historical ancestry this is, I am nervous and excited.“In my vision, they were saying that you called a ‘Vampire King’ of Germany?” I ask him he looks at me warily.“Yes, that is true, you don’t need to worry about it. th
