Chapter 30

RALPH POV

A normal human would not hallucinate of past lives unless Gabrielle were trying to use Katherine to find a way back? I whisper into her mind.

‘Gabrielle, what are you doing?’

“Rudolph my love,” she says.

‘What are you doing?’

“She’s perfect, isn’t she?’

“What are you saying?”

“She’s my ticket to rebirth, you still want me, don’t you?”

:”Gabrielle, I wills always want you but, you cannot destroy her life to reclaim your own! You were never that selfish and this isn’t 1730 anymore. You wouldn’t understand.”

“What are you saying? What year is it?”

“2025, didn’t you notice the different clothing?”

“Yes, I assumed it was because she was a peasant?”

“She’s of your bloodline, how could she be a peasant? She’s not as wealthy as you were but, the family royal line still lives and so do Silas Carvernall. She looked at me in fear.

“Would you really destroy her life just to reclaim your own, you would be in a new reality you’re not familiar with. The king is dead, there’s a new age, a new government. All of the nobility, and elite society you once held dear is no more. Hell, slaves are outlawed, there’s no servants anymore. The world you knew is dead.” I tell her with reality. She’s looking at me for the first time, she’s realizing the truth of my words.

“My friends, my family?”

“They’ve gone to be with the Lord? Why aren’t you?”

“I was holding on to our love.” She says in tears.

“You gave up eternity in paradise for me?” I asked in a shocked and saddened tone. She nodded.

“I will always love you my angel but, I will not let you destroy Katherine. She’s my new chance at happiness.” She looked at me in shock and fury.

I inhale, I meditate and will the powers of heaven to hear my prayer. She should have gone to heaven with her family. I see in mind a man that is glowing with the sun. he asks what a creature of the shadwos wants with heaven. I tell him in my heart what is my prayer and desire for Gabrielle to go home with her family.

“I will never leave you!” she glares at me.

“Yes, you will” I tell her with finality. I see the beaming light in front of her.

“What’s happening, why? No, I rejected this!” I kiss her one last time and shove her into the beaming light.

She screams as it pulls her upwards. She spiritually extends her arm and latches on to Katherine’s soul trying to stay connected. I realize I need to wake Katherine up to severe the bond. Right now, she’s keeping Katherine dormant. I decide to kiss her. I never did that to Gabrielle until after we started our affair, and right now kissing Gabrielle is an eternal goodbye kiss. I need to kiss Katherine the way I do when I ravage her.  I pull her into my arms and kiss her deeply. As Katherine begins to moan and revive, Gabrielle screams as she disappears into the blinding light. It shocks her awake. Before she can see me, I disappear. I move with my teleporting powers to a different area of the hallway.

“How did I get here?” she asks herself. “Ralph?” she asks the empty room. She’s touching her lips. I smirk and try to stifle my growing hard on. I see her shake her head.

“Must be my imagination. I keep wishing he’ll come home to me.

I just keep dreaming. We only met once, and that was it. it’s just a dream that’ll never happen. Who knows if I was just a fling, or some sort of secret affair, what if he has a wife and family? Was that all I was? It was just a dream, that was all, just a dream. He’s God knows where, and I may never see him again but, why does that thought break me?” she mumbling to herself. Each word is a dagger in my heart. She feels our connection but, my absence has left her thinking she was in a fantasy land that will never come true. I almost run towards her then, I see her friend coming.

“Katherine oh my God! What was that again?”

“I will tell you, even since my attack by the wolves, I have been having these vivid dreams and visions. I realize when I have them, I am my ancestor. Like I become her. Her name was Gabrielle La Fleur.” She suddenly runs downstairs with her friend. Down the towards the entrance of the house. In the entrance hanging on the walls are the portraits of the La Fluer family legacy.

“There, that’s her right there.” She tells her friend.

“Wow, you look just like her.”

“I wish, she’s so much more beautiful.”

“Do not start that plain jane shit again, your ex and all of those people are assholes. You are not plain jane; you are not some ugly duckling! I can’t believe they made you think that. You’re beautiful Katie. Not an ugly duck.

Hearing her sentence burns me. How dare they destroy her self-worth like that. What is Silas thinking? Making her believe she’s ugly? Silas always wanted Gabrielle for her beauty, and Katherine looks like the spitting image of her, why would he convince her she’s plain? Unless he thought, it would keep her with him and away from me? The best fuck up that bastard ever did  was cheat on her. I have to be eternally thankful for that. It lead her into my arms. I smile at the thought. The feel of her just now though it was brief was intoxicating. I can’t stay away anymore. I need my little dove. I want to be wrapped in her warmth and bask in the heat of her body. I need to leave. I know she can sense me when I am near, she’ll sense my presence. We are like magnets to each other. I see her with her friend and she’s looking towards my area of the balcony.

“This place is great. I have all of the devices set up. Let’s do this, the device flashes like a light when it’s getting a reading” I was going to leave but, now I am intrigued. Humans and their toys. They try communicating with the dead. It’s fascinating to watch. I don’t have a visual into the spirit realm but, generally, a lot of those speaking are demons not humans. I watch with Katherine as the device lights up.

“Help” I hear a voice say. It sounds like one of the maids, I recognize it. Her name was Nadella. I miss that little lady; she was such a wonderful soul.

“Hello” we all heard another voice come through. I couldn’t recognize the person, it was a bit static. Suddenly another voice came through and made my heart stop.

“Rudolph” I yearned for her. I was looking at her incarnate while closing my eyes and dreaming of seeing her again. My love, my Ellie. I am confused though. I thought I sent her to heaven?”

“This sounds like it’s residual. Like this is from a memory trapped in this room.” Her friend says.

“Run, they’re coming, run.” A voice comes through. Behind it another one that sounds like a growl happens.

“Vampire, run”

“don’t let it take Ms. Gabrielle”

“don’t let it get them!” All of a sudden, several conversations came through. This was from the night she was killed.

“Stay away from us.”  I hear Ellie say.

“He’ll never find you and that spawn.” I hear a voice say. Another sound comes through like a scream, and all is silent. Was she pregnant with my child? I nearly started crying. I couldn’t stay here anymore. I would break down. I need to see Fredrick. I sent a text to him to inquire where he is. He tells me that he’s outside in the woods. I take one more look at my love reborn and I teleport to Fredrick, I hover in the air, watching, waiting making sure she is alright.

I begin to smell Edgars Scent. I see him hovering as well. He’s by the front lawn looking towards the house He’s staring with a dangerous expression into the house. I snarl, he sends me a smirk and dives for the house. I roar and run straight towards him. I scream to the girls, “GET OUT!” I know she’s not supposed to know I am here but, I won’t lose her again.
