LOGINWe were still reeling from the disturbing EVP session that we heard. I could not believe what we heard “Vampire.” That was clear as day. What could that mean? Surely there were cultural superstitions that were being referenced, not like drinking blood type of vampires. They were the stuff of fiction, mythical folklore and Hollywood imagination. That couldn’t be real, could it?
“Do you think that was real? Or is that just some vintage cultural reference.?” I asked Judith.
“Katherine, how can you believe in skin walkers yet, deny the existence of other devilish creatures?” she said shaking her head. “there’s physical proof of walkers in Tennessee” I said in defense.
You think there’s none of vampires? There’s historical proof”
“That proof has been debunked by historians, science, and scholars.”
“Or maybe they’re very good at blending in and hiding?” she said in an angry tone.
“To answer your question, yes, I believe it.” I looked at her with a dubious look.
“The dead don’t lie Katherine. These are flashes, ghosts whispering their own tales of memories from times past. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the ghost is directly here with us just, shadows of their memories. When something horrific, it imprints on the room or house in a negative way.” I was nodding in understanding of everything that she was saying. I knew a little about paranormal investigation. I watch Ghost Hunters and The Dead Files.
“Something really bad happened here. The memories of that event are stained into this place. I don’t think it was in this room though.”
“How can you tell?” I asked her.
“Something is telling me so. When we were in the tunnel, I felt very heavy by one of the chambers. I think that woman was taken in there and murdered there.” Judith said.
“How do we know?”
“Black light, it doesn’t matter, how old a blood stain is, even if it was cleaned up. Blood doesn’t’ lie, and it leaves its mark.” Suddenly there was a roar outside and what sounded like boulders crashing. I heard someone scream “RUN, GET OUT!” We looked at each other in panic. We heard the sound of boulders crashing again. Then from a side hallway leading to the grand ballroom area, we saw the large bay window suddenly smash through. Two figures were crashing through it like a bolt lightning. We were stunned in fear at the chaos. Snarls erupted around us.
“GET OUT!” I heard the voice bellow again, the sounds of bodies smashing into walls and loud roars filled the house. We scrambled to our feet in fear. Suddenly, a room off the to the side opened like someone granting us safety. We ran towards the room in fear.
“WHAT IS GOING ON!” Judith screamed. We covered our ears as the sound of a battle raged around us. I felt the walls of house shake like it could self-destruct at any moment. The sealing groaned and fell right in back of us. The remnants of someone’s bedroom that was long forgotten about crashed around us.
We screamed in terror. I was beginning to fear the house was going to fall down on us. We continued to hear the sound of slamming and fighting happening through the house. I was clawing at everything to try and find an escape. Out of nowhere, a book dropped in my lap. It was old. It looked like it used to be cream colored with purple lace. This matches Gabrielle’s style. I saw a key lock. Suddenly, a key dropped from the binding of the book. It was a diary of some kind. I think Gabrielle’s spirit or someone wants me to have this. I shoved it into my bag and peaked out the door. I could tell it was still not safe to run out there but, we couldn’t stay where we were. I looked up and thought I saw the image of someone standing by the bookshelf. Am I seeing ghosts now? She was a black woman in vintage African dress, she stood by the bookshelf for a second then walked through it, and as she glided through, I saw a door open.
‘There, look at that!” I shouted towards Judith. We saw the door and ran for it. The passage led us into very tight hallway. This must be a servants passage. We came out into another room that looked like a luxury office. There were also shelves of encyclopedia’s and other books that were ancient.
“This would have been called the smoking room” Judith said.
“This is no doubt where Gabrielle’s father would have conducted business” I said to her.
“It was a lounge for men only; women rarely came in here.” She said in repulsion. Judith was all about women’s rights, the idea of how little rights women had during that time repulsed her.
“I think we’re safe for right now, we need to get out of here, that one man was telling us to run. We need to get back to the tunnels.” I said to her. She nodded in agreement.
Right outside, I heard the sound of someone dropping hard onto the floor. I opened the door to peak. There was this savage looking man. He had dark hair and handsome features but rugged looking. Like he could have been a handsome lumberjack. He was moving at inhuman speed. With inhuman strength he picked up the other person and dropped them to the floor, hard enough to continue denting the stone.
“Found her didn’t you Rudolph!” he spat. “You didn’t think I would find her too. You don’t think I lead her here! To finally finish it.!” Rudolph snarled in fury.
“Never again!” Rudolph screamed. He jumped up with impossible strength and slammed the savage looking man into the wall cracking it.
I felt like a deer caught in the headlights, somehow I knew they were talking about me. “Rudolph locked eyes with me as the other man threw him into the wall right outside our door. He jumped up and flew directly into the other man. They went through a window.
“Screw this! I am gone!” Judith said as she ran from the room. Snarling paused taking on a new direction.
“JUDITH NO!” I screamed as she started running out of the room and down the hallway. I was following her out of the room intending to stop her. I wanted to try taking the servants tunnel to the kitchen before she made a daring dash down the hall.
The rest of the Hofer family had cleared the area. Except for Walter. I saw him hiding in the crowd. He was staring at the scene in bitterness. There was a sneer on his face. He ran towards Rudolph at the battle arena. Ralph was hurt; he was prime target to easily kill. I lived through so much, I was not losing him.“WALTER!” I roared. He stopped and stared at me. There was fear in his eyes, he looked pale for a moment.“Oh Goddess, of bullshit! You think you can come back! Never!” he bellowed as he threw a spear at me. I hit the ground to get out of the way. I heard a groan from behind me. The spear had hit my grandfather.“No!” I ran towards him and held him as his life faded from his eyes.“I love you buttercup. I am so sorry, I never told you.” He said as he breathed his last. I cried in sorrow. I reached back with the power of the goddess I knew was flowing inside of me. I grabbed Walter by the throat like a Sith as he was about to perform a killing blow to Rudolph. He choked as
I heard the roar of pain, rage and my eternal salvation. I felt the ground quake. I had left the mental door open for Rudolph to hear everything. With eyes slipping closed, I saw the castle walls being ripped open like the wrath of the earth and powerful force was being slammed into the room. The walls ripped open. Broken, and bleeding I saw Rudolph in all his eternal glory. His eyes were the color of fire, ablaze with revenge with the need for revenge his been seeking for the last thousand years. The constant betrayal of his family cut deep. I saw Victor Hofer and several others storming into the room. I saw an invisible power pick up Edgar and rip him away from me. He flew several yards and hit an ancient building. He screamed in anger. Several vampires were surrounding me and snarling at Conrad and Silas.“Get her out of here!” Rudolph roared to one of them. Fredrick came to me as I was coughing up blood.“Oh my God! Miss Katie! Forgive me!” he bellowed as tears streamed down his f
My mind drifted, and I came back to reality. I glance through my half-closed eye lids and notice, he’s not the only one in the room. Conrad and Edgar are also there. Hovering over my body. I open my eyes; they already probably know that I am awake. I try to pull on the chains, and I stare at Edgar with a defiant look. He stares back at me. They all stop their sexual probing of me. Conrad and Silas take step back at Edgars physical command, when he holds up his hand.“So, this seems familiar, only different. How do we fucking kill you and make sure you don’t come back?” Edgar says. I smirked, then I spit in his face. He smirks then slaps me hard enough across the face, that I feel like jaw crack. I steel my reserve. I will not scream in pain to their delight.”“Why me?” I ask through the pain.“That’s a good question, you don’t know do you ?” I stare at him.“Lover boy hasn’t told you?” Conrad said with a snicker.“You’re descendant from a powerful deity. She fell in love with someone
WARNING THE NEXT CHAPTERS WILL CONTAIN GRAPHIC CONTENT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. CAUTION IS ADVISED. I awake with a throbbing pain in my head. The left side of my head feels sticky and has the most throbbing. I feel like someone just hit me with a Mack truck. My eyes are groggy but begin to focus around the room. I am no long bathed in the darkness of where I was but, I am still not in good shape, I look down trying to focus my eyes. I left eye can barely open. Whoever hit me must have given me a black eye, on top of knocking me the fuck out.I look around. I am in a bedroom I do not recognize. It looks ancient, the design looks it’s a medieval castle bedchamber room. The bed is large enough to fit a dozen people but, there’s dust everywhere. It shows, it has not been used in forever. There is a faint glow of a light in the room. As if it is lit with a torch or candles. I feel hands roaming around me. I lay still. It feels also, like I cannot move my legs? Did they break them or something
I remember Ralpha left telling me to stay in the house. Before leaving, as an escape route, he removed the stone from the entrance of the tunnel. He told me if anything happened. I could escape to the tunnel. Find a chamber room and lock myself in or hide in the mansion. I nodded, grateful for an escape I can rely on. He told me to call him if I can, if anything happens. That was a few hours ago. He said that he was going to arrange with Fredrick and the Hofer family our trip to Germany. He needed to prepare the vampire counsel of my presence as well. He said that not everyone would be on board with a human being included into his world. He said that if they knew I am intending to one day change and become queen that would settle them down.He said there has not been a vampire royal couple. King and Queen since his parents. His parents were killed six hundred years ago during the Middle Ages. Humans during that time were more aware of vampire creatures and were not accepting. There we
We start getting dressed. He looks outside and checks to make sure the coast is clear. He calls on his phone to Fredrick and speaks with him. When he is done, he tells me that Conrad and Edgar no longer appear to be in the area. I should be safe. I breath a sigh of relief.“You can’t stay here right now.” He tells me.“I honestly never wanted to. Too much has happened to me here to want to be here.”“You will be here eventually but, right now I need to keep you safe. You’re coming with me to Germany.” He tells me with finality. I look at him in surprise. I am going with him to the Hofer family estate. If he’s really the same one who was with Gabrielle, this means I am going to the “Lord Hofer” estate where he was once a person of German royalty. The amount of German historical ancestry this is, I am nervous and excited.“In my vision, they were saying that you called a ‘Vampire King’ of Germany?” I ask him he looks at me warily.“Yes, that is true, you don’t need to worry about it. th
