Nathan was slower than normal, but still kept a steady pace. I assumed he was used to this kind of pain, which made me even more curious about him. I had the pain without the blood loss and I was still struggling to put one foot in front of the next.

“There’s no wound,” Nina almost whispered from behind me.

“What?”

She looked up at me, confusion evident on her face. “There’s no wound on your leg. I thought you got shot, but there’s nothing there.”

I shrugged. “Must have pulled a muscle.”
