"You're alpha Kaden?" I gasped and it wasn't till I saw Rigg's dropped jaw and my mom's twitching eye that I realised the tone I'd spoken in.

Alpha Kaden wasn't bothered by this, or he was really good at hiding it. "Sonya, we meet again." He broke the silence that followed.

"Again?" I leaned against my mom, whispering. "What does he mean by again?"

My mom got to her feet and bowed her head a little, "yes Alpha, I came here with my daughter and wanted to talk to you about an urgent matter."

I got to my feet as well and imitated my mom's actions, ignoring the strands of my hair that fell forward.

"Alright," his voice had so much baritone, while it had an aura of fear, something about it was really calming to me. "It's pretty late, you ladies should go to bed, whatever it is can wait till morning." He said. I didn't realise how stiffened my chest had been until I let out a sigh of relief. It was a good sign he was letting us stay here, it meant there was hope we could stay back.
