Hadley is the Fern family's heiress.
When she was little, she was traveling with her maid to another country without her family. But the plane crashed, and she ended up in a deserted island while her maid never survived. Her family believed she was still alive, so they never stopped searching for her.
At age fifteen, Hadley was adopted by the Beck family who saw her on the deserted island and took pity on her. It happened the couple also lost their own daughter, and so they took her in as their child.
When she was nineteen, the couple’s lost daughter, Laura, was found and brought back. Hadley was older than Laura with two years. She took Laura as a younger sister.
Not until Mary, their mother, one day severed ties with Hadley without any explanation. It was during the time of Hadley and Andrew’s wedding so Hadley left to Andrew’s mansion. Hadley still treated Laura like a sister even after her family severed ties with her, but now Hadley realized Laura was as bad as her mother, if not worst.
Laura having an affair with Andrew despite the men outside. She could have chosen any other man apart from Andrew, but no she didn’t.
Well she and her mother had the same blood.
When Hadley finally found her real family, she was already married to Andrew, so she stayed back with Andrew and only visited her family once-in-a-while. She never returned home.
Despite her best to fulfill her role as a good wife while working at his office, she never thought it would end like this and Andrew will betray her for Laura.
Well it was all over now. For now Hadley just wanted to rest after all the stress of the day.
She could not wait to see how Andrew and the Beck family will do when they finally found out she’s the daughter of the Fern family In V city.
The Fern family is the most wealthiest and powerful family, and only one call from them could shake the entire world.
…..
It was an early autumn sunny day. After three month, Hadley left Diamond Estate.
She headed to the Shaw Group to take some important documents she left behind. She’ll do that quickly and return back.
~~
*At the Shaw Group’s building gate*
Andrew was coming out of his car when Hadley’s car zoomed in. The door opened and Hadley came out.
When Andrew spotted her, he immediately stopped walking. He had been looking for her during this three month. At last, she finally appeared before him.
He looked at the nice car she came out from and gave her a chilly expression. It was the latest car.
His piercing stare lingered on her as their eyes locked. He sneered with a look of contempt on his face.
"You’re here, Ms. Beck. Thought I’ll never see you again. I know you’ll come back to see me. You couldn’t live without me right?”
"And who told you I came to see you? I came for my important documents. Once I get it, I’ll leave immediately. You can keep on dreaming that I can’t live without you.” Hadley fired back.
When Andrew heard her remark, his gaze grew colder. "I knew it. No wonder you gave up everything when you divorced me," he yelled. “You have a new boyfriend already, don't you? Shame on you!"
"You cheated on me, Mr. Shaw. Don't be in a rush to pass blame. Moreover I can be with anyone I want, we’re divorced now.”
She then strode past him and made her way inside the office.
A roar pierced the atmosphere that moment. "Hadley Beck, stop right there! Did you block my number?" Andrew inquired, and rushed after her.
"Where were you this past months?"
After the divorce, he was unable to get in touch with her. He then asked his assistant to find out where she was. However, their efforts ultimately proved futile.
She was meant to be broke because she left with nothing. He didn't know how she survived up till now.
Hadley looked at him icily, a sardonic smirk playing on her lips. "Are you curious about my whereabouts? Of course, I went to celebrate my divorce. It feels so good to be single. It’s even time for me to go out and party with a gigolo who has flawless abs?”
In an instant, Andrew’s face darkened. "If you need money I can give it to you. I won't let you disgrace yourself like that!" He barked.
Hadley gave a smirk. "Disgrace myself? Really? I was married to you once Andrew Shaw. That truly is a disgrace.“
Andrew became enraged at once. He drew her in and gave her a passionate kiss.
Guilt and the long-suppressed yearning were all present in the kiss.
"Ugh..." Hadley struggled to push him away but Andrew is too strong for her. She could only wipe his chest to free herself.
"Drew!" Suddenly, Laura spoke from behind.
Andrew didn't let Hadley go till then.
Smack!
Hadley gave him a hefty slap when he finally released her.
With anger Hadley said, "Mr. Shaw, we're already divorced. Let today be the last time you’ll try this. I’m not like Laura. I have no desire to be someone's mistress.”
Andrew’s face became cold. He opened his mouth to speak, but Laura spoke before him.
"My dear sister, have some shame," Laura said, clinging to Andrew’s arm when she walked up to him. “Don't bother Drew. Look Had, I'm his girlfriend now, but I know you still have feelings for him."
"Bitch, I'm not your sister!” Hadley shot back, "You're not my sister, don’t forget that. Tell your dog to stop bothering me. I hope I never have to see you two again. A bitch like you and scumbag like him is a better combination after all.”
“Hadley you—“ Andrew wanted to speak, but Laura cut him short.
"Drew see I told you,” Laura murmured, looking sad. “She thinks I’m the one who destroyed your marriage.”
"Lau, don’t ever say that. You are not the one who destroyed my marriage. My marriage was always going to fail. Later, I'll buy you the ice cream you want."
Hadley laughed.
What a big jokers!
Cuddling up to him, Laura grinned broadly.
Andrew turned to look at Hadley. This was when he observed her fully. She was no longer overweight. She was now a little slim. She was no longer with the same hair style she use to have while married to him.
In the green backless gown which fit her, Hadley looked radiant. Her current wardrobe was a sharp contrast to her former one.
The fact that she had cut her hair to a bob haircut shocked him much more. He expressed his admiration for her long hair before.
Andrew said, "Hadley, we used to be husband and wife. I know you’re now unemployed. I'll let you continue working at Shaw Group if you go on your knees and beg me.”
He was aware of her professional competence. He wasn't in a rush to replace her because she was unquestionably qualified.
Without looking at him, Hadley took a black card out of her bag and gave it to Andrew’s assistant who just came.
"Give this to your boss," she said. "Let him see if I have any financial issue then."
Hadley didn’t want to waste any more time here. She brought out her phone and called Jemima Rexa, a coworker to help her bring the documents down.
Back when she use to work here while still married to Andrew, her colleagues used to gossip about her, calling her too fat. A pig. That she eats too much and will never lose weight, but Hadly always pretended not to hear them. She didn't want to use the fact that she was Andrew's wife to intimidate them.
What mattered to her back then was that Andrew loved her and he liked her shape... or so she thought.
She’ll noticed the stares of her colleagues each time she pass by before their whispers. Their eyes lingering too long, lips curling into smirks each time. But Jemima was the only person who didn’t engage in gossips with the rest of their colleagues about her, so Jemima was the only friend Hadley had.
Back then, Hadley used to wonder why Andrew didn’t reprimand her colleagues for insulting her even though they knew she was his wife. But now realizing why it made her laugh at her foolishness. It only proved he had been dating Laura for a very long time.
Jemima arrived shortly with the documents. Hadley confirmed it was indeed the correct documents, then thanked Jemima, got in the car, and drove off without looking at Andrew or Laura.
Andrew, Laura and the assistant stood and watched her leave.
Laura became jealous when she finally saw Hadley’s transformation. She didn’t see it before because she was angry. She became afraid that Andrew will begin to fall for Hadley again.
……
When they got into the office, the assistant gave Andrew the black card with trepidation. "Boss, this is the card you gave Mrs.... Ms. Beck previously," he reported. “She didn’t use any of the money in the card. And she also transferred $10 million inside too.”
Andrew’s phone suddenly beeped that moment. He took the phone on the table and opened the new message from an unknown number.
The message: [Think of the cash as a farewell present for our four years spent together. Mr. Shaw, let's be truthful. You were never good in bed and also have a terrible personality]
Andrew had a cold expression on his face. He tried to call the number, but he was unable to. He was blocked.
How dare Hadley! The audacity from her!
After giving the bank card a long look, Andrew took the card and threw it in the trash with rage.
Just as his assistant opened his mouth to speak, he also got a message on his phone.
"Oh no, boss. The new product draft has been stolen.” He said to Andrew.
Andrew “..”
Although Andrew was in the office, it was obvious that his thoughts were elsewhere. His once-sharp eyes were bloodshot as he sat there, unresponsive, as if he had suffered greatly. His face was gaunt and his eyes were empty.Harry who just came in was shocked to see him when he entered. "Jesus, man, I've only been gone a few days, and look at you! What on earth took place?”Harry couldn't find the right words to describe Andrew’s appearance. He was hesitant to approach Andrew because of his unsettling atmosphere."Man, what's going on with you?" Harry asked again.Andrew looked at him, his eyebrows furrowing in disapproval. "What are you doing here?"In the hopes that he wouldn't snap, Harry sunk anxiously into the sofa across from him. "The father of your woman paid me a visit. Are you aware of the reason?”With steely eyes, Andrew seemed to be saying, "If you have something to say, say it. Get lost if not.”His icy gaze made Harry want to run, but he forced himself to say, "He was i
Laura became terrified. The director of "Villain of Addle," in which she starred, was outstanding, and filming had already started. She had gone to acting class. She was competent. The director even described her as a naturally gifted performer. The compliments made her very happy. But now with Virginia’s new film coming, she was afraid Virginia might take her place in the entertainment industry.Andrew did not pick up when she contacted him multiple times. She became angry that she couldn't get through to him.She had investigated Virginia’s past. Without any help, Virginia worked hard in the entertainment sector and rose to become a movie queen. Nobody knew who owned Bubble Media, where she worked as an artist first.Just as Laura turned to return, Virginia appeared. She and her assistant strolled through the throng. The entire universe appeared to be illuminated at that very instant.Virginia’s gorgeous looks and captivating confidence made her ideal for acting. Everyone was alway
Andrew calmed down and replied, "Come in."Laura wore a pink dress that accentuated her flawless, glowing complexion. She smiled and came in. "Drew, I brought you lunch."The fact that he made Hadley leave V city for her truly shocked her. She was so touched that she asked the chef in assisting her to make the meal for Andrew. Jude looked up Hadley’s flight. Laura would never let Hadley have an impact on her future anymore. In order to prevent Hadley from returning, she dispatched individuals to Sternberg to murder her.Andrew stared intently at the lunchbox Laura was holding. “Place it there. Later, I'll eat it. In ten minutes, I have a meeting. Return home and rest.”He drove Laura away once more, which made her angry."Drew, could we have dinner together tonight?" she whispered in his ear as she walked over to him. “You drove Hadley away for me, and I appreciate that. I want to make you happy since you love me so much."Suppressing his annoyance, he gently moved her away. "I'm mee
He smiled gently as he looked at Laura. "I enjoy drinking your coffee, Lau. Pour me another cup. I'll take a stroll around the yard. The interior is quite dull.”His soft voice was too much for Laura to ignore. Her face flushed suddenly. She was very sure of her beauty and had no doubts. With a beaming smile, she stood up and said, "okay.”Andrew stood up elegantly. "Yeah!"Laura rush to the kitchen. As she had anticipated, Andrew enjoyed her coffee. She had discovered that he loved coffee in an attempt to win his affection. She smiled broadly as she observed his towering figure meandering around the garden after giving him the coffee. Her future husband was such a wonderful man. Andrew moved to a secret location, turned on his phone, and put on his headphones when he was sure Laura wasn’t watching."Hadley, when did you meet Horace?" Jude inquired, gesturing for Hadley to take a seat in the upstairs study.Andrew’s eyes hardened as he stiffened up downstairs. Why was it Horace once
Laura bowed her head and dared not speak, knowing that she was at fault.Mary found it intolerable to witness her being reprimanded. "Well, just quit placing the blame on her. In order for Andrew to sign the contract without incident, she also lied. How the procedure was carried out is irrelevant. The outcome is favorable. Thanks to our daughter, Andrew has signed the contract.”Jude went upstairs to rest without saying anything.~~~Hadley, who had been in a foul mood all day, took Ercell to the Beck Villa the following afternoon."Hadley, what do you think Jude Beck wants to talk to you about this time?" Ercell asked after driving her there.Hadley leaned against the window of the automobile."He would want to know the whereabouts of the map.” she casually retorted. One thing still baffled Ercell. Why was everyone looking for the map? "Boss, why is he looking for the map?” Ercell had asked a reasonable question, Hadley reflected, but she was at a loss for a response."There is onl
Hadley felt that disputing with Andrew was useless, so she didn't bother. She took a deep breath, and left. She ignored the pasta that the waiter had bought and walked away.As he saw her leave, Andrew said, "Bring the pasta here. My spouse placed the order.”As Hadley vanished from sight, he ate it, lost in contemplation. ---Jude swiftly put an end to a Laura’s scandal."How did Hadley know which medicine to recommend for his daughter?” Mary asked, sitting on the couch with a bewildered expression on her face. Jude’s countenance was gloomy and brooding, and he was also confused."It must have been luck," Laura sneered. “Perhaps she was only carrying some medication. How, after all, could someone who didn't even complete high school be knowledgeable about medicine?”Laura didn't think Hadley could be a medical expert. She thought Hadley’s pretty face was all she had going for her. She was filled with resentment."Hadley is not capable of causing any serious trouble, regardless of h
"Don't get too excited, Hadley. You are merely Andrew’s ex-wife, and tonight he'll purchase me the most amazing purple diamond and pop the question.”"Really? I'm trying to find it.” Hadley gave a smirk. After a brief delay, she shut the car door firmly and departed from the Shaw Group.Kingsley Fe
"Close your dirty mouth. "How dare you use the word stole? You may look respectable, but your words are disgusting." Ercell was furious and thought. No one had ever dared to treat Hadley this way, and they had looked up to her since they were young.Laura gestured to Jemima , who boldly moved forw
