Pain killer

"Hazel?"

I know for sure that it was her voice. When i whispered her name, mom turned around to look at me. When i gave her a nod, she stepped aside so Hazel would come in.

When Hazel set her eyes on me, she gasped.

"Oh dear." She whispered.

I tried to get up and welcome her but the second i made a move, small needels pirced my chest mercylessly. And with a loud groan, i clasped my chest with both my hands and falled back on the couch.

In a blink of an eye, my mom was at my side, tears washing her face as she placed her shaking hands over my chest on top of my own.

"Please don't move." Hazel warns me with her soft voice. With my mothers' silent sob and Hazels worried gaze, i can't help but wonder, what the hell happened to me? How does getting dumped-or should i say rejected- cause me actual physical pain?

When the pain settles down a little, i tried to show both of them a reasurring smile. And since i fail on welcoming Hazel, i politely asked her to sit down.
