The entire Protector's pack joined in and attacked the ogre from all angles until it started screaming and yelping in pain. We wanted to stay in bed all day lying there doing nothing. We'd had a couple of really hard couple of days and I didn't want to get up and do anything today. But we knew that it wasn't possible. We were still responsible for an entire pack that hasn't had a real leader around here for a couple of days. Connor had complete confidence in his pack and he knew that they would be alright the whole time that we were gone. But they still needed a leader. Especially after everything that my father had been throwing at us lately and that he had a black witch on his side. Witch's were mostly good, but if you knew where to look then you could find the ones that had turned to the dark side. And that's exactly what my father had done. When we did finally get up Connor made coffee and I went to sit on the front veranda and I saw people walking around everywhere. I slowly turned around and I was face to face with the black witch. She was looking at me with a menacing smile on her face and I was trying not to shake in front of her. Because I was scared to death right now. I was alone and Connor thought I was safe while he was trying to protect his pack. He didn't know that there was anyone out here with me. I didn't even know what to say to this woman. I knew how powerful she was and I knew that I didn't stand a chance against her. There's no way that I could stand a chance against her. She had years to develop her powers and I hadn't done anything with mine except protect Connor that one time at the cave. I was able to put up a protective shield and I knew that it wasn't going to be enough to fight this witch. Connor and I were lying in bed. I could feel his hands caressing me everywhere and he was being really gentle but I could feel him getting really excited as well. And I got really nervous and scared and I stopped him from going any further. I sat up quickly, not able to look at him, and I apologized over and over again. I wasn't ready for anything to go any further with us. But he sat up behind me and he rested his chin on my shoulder from behind me and told me to stop apologizing. He tells me that I have nothing to be sorry for. He shouldn't have assumed that I was ready. He's not going to assume and he's going to let me take the lead on it whenever I want it to happen. And I just nodded my head. We stayed in that motel for the rest of the night but the following morning we checked out and we went to a diner in town to get some breakfast. I was standing behind Connor and my eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw the werebear running towards us. Connor pushed me back and took a few steps closer to the bear so that he could shift, and when he did, he was only about half the size of the bear. But he was going to fight it with everything that he had. I was terrified for Connor. I thought this thing was going to kill him. And I wasn't sure how he was going to get out of it. But Connor charged at the bear and the bear let out a loud roar expecting the attack. Like he was looking forward to it. Like he was wanting it. He kept charging at Connor and they clashed in a thunderous bang, and they were both clawing at each other, trying to bite each other. The bear managed to strike Connor across his flank with its huge claws and Connor fell to the ground whimpering in pain. We headed through town and Connor was walking pretty fast and not going in a straight line. We were going down all different streets and we were circling around for a bit. I didn't know his plan here, but I trusted him to get us out of here in one piece. "What happened to all of your cars?" I asked. "A lot of the other pack members took them and some were destroyed when we were attacked." He says. "I can't believe they found your pack. Connor, it's all because of me. Wouldn't it just be easier if you were on your own?" I asked as I stopped walking. Connor had realized that they noticed me standing there and he got between us and he ordered me back in the cave. Vampires and werewolves were mortal enemies. They have been at war for centuries, and when they're not actually battling it out on the battlefield then they are trying to work out how to wipe out the other species. But as I stood there, in the presence of these vampires, I could tell that something was off about them. I didn't go back into the cave like Connor had ordered me. Instead I stepped out of the cave and I walked right up behind Connor. I could see the panic on his face. He obviously thought that this battle was going to end with me getting hurt or killed. But the vampires weren't attacking. They were just staring at me. "You're not here to kill us." I say. "What are you talking about? Their vampires. Of course they're going to kill us." Connor took me to the house that was at the top of the village and was definitely the biggest and when I walked inside I was really surprised at what I saw. This place was relatively new and it was really nice inside. Apparently his whole pack had built this place themselves, in secret. Which is why there are so many more people here than I thought were in his pack. I think there were a lot more in his pack that he had spread out. Possibly building this place, or possibly somewhere else so no one knows exactly how big his army really is. They had built Connor a two story place, but it wasn't massive like Father's packhouse. It wasn't a mansion or anything. It was more homely than anything. Connor took me upstairs and he showed me my bedroom which was right across the hall from his bedroom. I was glad that he wasn't trying to push anything on me still. And he had an ensuite in his room but there was another bathroom next to my room. But I was alright with that. Connor went to go
