CHAPTER 23

I was hanging off the side of that cliff with the Black witch looking down on me. Knowing that she was the one doing all of this to me, I felt a really strong arm wrap around my waist and a warm body pressed against me and I turned to see Connor had climbed back up, to stop me from falling.

He saw the witch standing there too and let out a growl, but then he focused on what we needed to do. He started climbing back down slowly, while his body was shielding me and I know that it definitely couldn't have been easy for him. He was a lot bigger than me, but he still had his entire body protecting me while we were climbing down the cliff.

I couldn't help but wonder how he didn't fall himself. But we made it most of the way down and that's when we heard the crashing of the water below us. And Connor grabbed both of my hands from behind me and he kicked off from the cliff until we landed in the water. But he still had a hold of both of my hands and he wasn't letting go of me for anything.
