Alexander’s POV

I had tried my hardest to stay away from Maria last night but it was impossible not when I felt her pain like it was my own, I had felt heart breaking with each breath I took and I had been left with no choice but to seek her out and I was glad I had gone to her, she had been in a terrible shape when I found her in her room, the maids had been more than willing to show me to her when I had asked where she was.

Even now, as I sat here having breakfast with Ethan, I could feel the heaviness of her heart weighing heavily on mine.

“You look like you have a lot on your mind” he said to me as he drank his coffee.

“I do” was all I said to him.

He nodded his head and said “Want to talk about it?”

I turned to look at him and said “We are not there yet”

He shrugged his shoulders and said “I know but it is creepy to have you staring into nothing with that expression on your face, it takes the fun out of breakfast”

“Leave me alone Ethan, I am really not in the mood to
