I placed my hand on the knob and took a deep breath before opening it. When I walked into the classroom, all eyes fell on me.
The teacher pointed at my seat and they all gazed at me. It even felt mode awkward when she referred to me as 'Human'
After she ordered me to introduce myself, I cleared my throat. "My name is Hailey Marquis, I'm friendly and nice,"
"And you're beautiful." One of the boys at the back chipped in and I smiled.
"Thank you," I murmured, loud enough for them to hear me.
I occupied the middle seat in the classroom which was at the back. It didn't take long for my mind to leave the class.
I began to think about the student I was told to avoid. I was specifically told to avoid Alice because she was a bully.
I noticed the guy in front of me was kinda gentle so I talked to him. "Hi, can I have the seminar summary?"
"What seminar?"
"Huh, I was told by a teacher that you guys conducted a seminar last week and I would have wanted to see it."
He smiled awkwardly. "Oh, it's for werewolves but if you want to see it, I could still show you."
I shook my head, embarrassed. "No, I'm fine. I don't want to see it."
I definitely didn't want to see anything that belonged to the werewolves. Someone pulled a strand of my hair and I turned back to meet another handsome guy staring at me.
Was he seriously admiring me? I wasn't really interested because I didn't feel that connection. "You are so dumb," his harsh words came as soon as he pointed to a pen behind me. "Pick that pen up." He ordered.
I frowned. But for what? Why would he ask me to pick up the pen? It wasn't mine and I didn't want to be seen as a thief. And why couldn't he ask politely? Did he have to be that rude?
Many questions were going through my mind as at that particular time.
I faked a grateful smile. "Thanks but it's not my pen." I told him.
He slammed a fist into his table. "Nah, don't tell me you're dumb for real."
I didn't answer him again until the teacher was done with her class. I wouldn't say it was boring but I barely understood a thing.
As soon as she left, I turned to face him only to be given a loud slap on my face that got the students shocked.
He stood up and two other boys which I suspected to be his gang members also stood up.
No, please don't tell me he is the Cursed Alpha because the person standing right in front of me was very annoying. "I'm sorry... I.."
He cut in immediately. "I asked you to pick my pen and you ignored me. I'm sure you haven't heard of me in this school and believe me, I'm here to make your life a living hell."
Wasn't my life a living hell already? From my parents death to Tess's pack. From Tess's pack, I was brought to the Werewolf academy. Why did they look down on me?
Why didn't he tell me it was his pen? He only asked me to pick the pen without informing me who the owner was. "You never specified that it was your pen." I told him.
The whole class gasped and everyone stared at me. Were they shocked because I talked back to him?
His loud and stern voice interrupted my thoughts. "Wow, just wow…"
I'm speechless. I'm surprised at how you got the voice to talk back at me, I'll teach you not to mess with me."
His eyes glared red and I became afraid.
Zoe jumped right in front of me. "Stop it, Tristan. She's new and inexperienced. Give her some time to adapt to you." She said,
His eyes returned back to his normal color and he went out of the class with his boys.
Zoe held my hands as we sat down. "What just happened? Who is he?" I asked, still confused.
"He's also a bully and like Alice, they would want to make your life miserable. I just hope you can bear all these till your mate picks you."
Tears filled my eyes. "But why do they hate me? I've barely done anything bad to them."
She gave me a reassuring smile. "It's normal for almost all werewolves to hate you. You got the opportunity to be in this academy as a human and this is an opportunity most werewolves find it difficult to get. They would be jealous and I won't suggest you mingle with them. Just have fun and be sure to follow me to Amber's birthday party tonight."
I frowned. I was just getting out of one trouble, I definitely didn't want to go to any of the wolf parties. They would definitely make it worse for me.
"I don't want to go." I muttered.
She put on a sad face. "C'mon, I just want you to have fun. You don't have to mingle with them, you can just come and hang out with my friends."
I gave up. "Alright, I'll come for the party tonight, I hope I don't get into trouble."
She chuckled. "Of course not," she replied, standing up before turning to look at me again. "And one more thing, don't forget to go to the hall for monthly attendance, it's in the next twenty minutes."
I nodded and winked at her. "Are there consequences if I miss the attendance?" I inquired.
"Believe me, you'll be sent to the woods where your life will be exposed to enemies. You shouldn't pray to go into the woods, most wolves don't survive there except the strong ones and you're not even a wolf."
As soon as she settled down at the front seat, I decided to explore the school and I stood up and left the class.
Once I found myself in the corridor, I was looking for a restroom. "Need help with something?" A guy who noticed my discomfort asked.
"Restroom... The female restroom."
He pointed in a direction. "By the left."
I thanked him and went towards the direction he pointed, taking a left turn and I found myself in front of the restroom.
I got in and slammed the door quietly. After doing my thing, I tried to open the door and realized it was shut. How? What happened?
"Somebody help me, I don't know who locked me in here." I shouted but to no avail. No one was there and even if there was someone there, I wasn't sure they would answer.
Wait, what was going on? Who locked me in the restroom? How was I going to avoid getting sent to the woods when I can't get out of here?
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I sank to the floor.
Lisa's POV After I finished my makeup, my mother rushed into the room. She said, 'Your future husband is here, don't keep him waiting,' and without waiting for me to say a word, she left immediately. I was annoyed that she didn't even ask for my opinion or wanted to know if I liked. She didn't even care for me. All she wanted was for me to make money for her by getting married to a billionaire. She didn't care about me at all and it was annoying and also sad. Parents should never treat their children like TRASH. They should never do that to their children. It's funny that she thought I was going to marry him. "Mom really doesn't care. I'm the one dating, but I don't mind at all," she tweeted. "Maybe you don't know who you're going to date. I need to remind you. Tom Cruise, the actor on the romantic action series everyone talked about. His parents' estate He is automatically rich because of the 'I knew you remembered' film he acted. He played the role of Charles, an innocent man.
Lisa's POV She rolls her hips back and forth, her hips beginning to tighten under his weight to meet his arms. He tried to cover his face, but his mouth fell open to gasp. She smiled and slowed down, pressing herself against him as he stabbed her. The door opened and Lisa walked in and I slowly was pushing the book under the pillow. I was with my new family now and I was back to human. I couldn't remember anything again but I was told my name was Lisa Reynold. They claimed it was an accident and I believed them. "Hey, what are you doing?" Maya asked with a big smile on her face. According to what they told me, Maya Angela has been my best friend since high school and she really enjoys our friendship. We advise and help each other. We are actually more than sisters because of our love for each other. "Hey honey, I'm not doing anything. I'm just reading" I replied. He hit me with his tongue. I asked "A book?" He licked her lips and asked the next question without hesitatio
I follow him to the end and watch from the darkness. With the key in hand, he approaches a parked police car, unlocks it, and hops inside. The car rattles and creaks from the curb. I sigh as I look at the receding taillights. Yes, he was there but I hoped he wasn't there with his people and whoever he was, I was so ready to find out already. It was good, but not satisfactory. These side streets of the city are too narrow. My heart is pounding with tremendous excitement. My legs hurt from the accumulated energy. The wind is blowing from the south and the pungent smell of cold blood is in the air. Someone had just been killed in the night for probably a wolf sacrifice. You think about going to the beach, imagining walking on the beach with freezing water beating your feet, but it's not safe. If you want to run, you have to go to the canyon.Almost half an hour later, I am standing on top of a hill. My nose twitches as I take in the trail of smoldering illicit leaf fires in a nearby gar
Three Months LaterAlpha Blake was sleeping next to me. From now on, we will turn to humans at any time of the day. It's another reason why I shouldn't have left, sneaked back in the middle of the night, and come back with a bunch of flimsy excuses. He will work late tomorrow. If only it could wait another day. My temples started to flicker. The burning sensation on my skin spread to my arms and legs. Anger formed a tight ball in his stomach and threatened to explode. I didn't imagine we would break up but it finally did. After I was his mate and saved him from the curse, he betrayed me with Georgie and tried to make her his mate. I have to get out of here, I'm running out of time. I played with him one night before our breakup. It's almost two in the morning, it's already late because of this madness, I'm going to sleep. Four nights of memorizing to meet the deadline wore me out. It didn't matter. The patches of skin on the back of my knees and elbows hurt and now burn. My heart wa
Blake's POVCursing under his breath, he stepped out of the house and down the path to the pier, Andrew running behind me. Why would he bring a stranger to the academy? We weren't done with Alex and we heard that he escaped from prison. I looked up as he stepped onto the podium. Duych wagged his tail and leaned over to greet me. “Beautiful dog,” I muttered petting the dog, then, with a worried look on my face, I flashed Andrew a big smile and stepped forward, arms outstretched. We quietly hugged and he backed away. “You brought guests in,” I said, staring at him, then turning to the girl. She looked like she's somewhere in her teens. She wears a pair of ripped blue jeans and a black unzipped hoodie over a crumpled T-shirt with a cross print. "Is she a human or a wolf?" I asked curiously. Up close, I could see that his spiky hair was dark blue rather than black. Two gold rings pierce her right eyebrow and she has a nail in her right nostril. A large gray mouse perched on her left sh
Blake's POVIt's been days now and Hailey still hasn't come back. After that experience that almost killed the guy Georgie sent to help me, I became very scared and unproductive. I didn't want to endanger myself or put anyone else's life in danger but the more I stayed without doing anything, the more lives I was getting in danger. I have never been so confused and scared for her. I just know his life is in danger. She might as well be with this demon but I don't know where. I don't want her to go through that trauma again. I tried to report the incident to the main officials and school authorities but she advised me not to do so as she did not want to put Alex in danger, I stopped.I wish she understood that she was putting herself in jeopardy instead. Days had passed and I still hadn't seen her. I decided to meet with Mr. James again since he was one of the reasonable and trustworthy officers of the Institute. He's the only person I can really put my trust in. He seemed surprised
