Chapter Seven

I placed my hand on the knob and  took a deep breath before opening it. When I walked into the classroom, all eyes fell on me.

The teacher pointed at my seat and they all gazed at me. It even felt mode awkward when she referred to me as 'Human'

After she ordered me to introduce myself, I cleared my throat. "My name is Hailey Marquis, I'm friendly and nice,"

"And you're beautiful." One of the boys at the back chipped in and I smiled.

"Thank you," I murmured, loud enough for them to hear me.

I occupied the middle seat in the classroom which was at the back. It didn't take long for my mind to leave the class.

I began to think about the student I was told to avoid. I was specifically told to avoid Alice because she was a bully.

I noticed the guy in front of me was kinda gentle so I talked to him. "Hi, can I have the seminar summary?"

"What seminar?"

"Huh, I was told by a teacher that you guys conducted a seminar last week and I would have wanted to see it."

He smiled awkwardly. "Oh, it's for werewolves but if you want to see it, I could still show you."

I shook my head, embarrassed. "No, I'm fine. I don't want to see it."

I definitely didn't want to see anything that belonged to the werewolves. Someone pulled a strand of my hair and I turned back to meet another handsome guy staring at me.

Was he seriously admiring me?  I wasn't really interested because I didn't feel that connection. "You are so dumb," his harsh words came as soon as he pointed to a pen behind me. "Pick that pen up." He ordered.

I frowned. But for what? Why would he ask me to pick up the pen? It wasn't mine and I didn't want to be seen as a thief. And why couldn't he ask politely? Did he have to be that rude?

Many questions were going through my mind as at that particular time.

I faked a grateful smile. "Thanks but it's not my pen." I told him.

He slammed a fist into his table. "Nah, don't tell me you're dumb for real."

I didn't answer him again until the teacher was done with her class. I wouldn't say it was boring but I barely understood a thing.

As soon as she left, I turned to face him only to be given a loud slap on my face that got the students shocked.

He stood up and two other boys which I suspected to be his gang members also stood up.

No, please don't tell me he is the Cursed Alpha because the person standing right in front of me was very annoying. "I'm sorry... I.."

He cut in immediately. "I asked you to pick my pen and you ignored me. I'm sure you haven't heard of me in this school and believe me, I'm here to make your life a living hell."

Wasn't my life a living hell already? From my parents death to Tess's pack. From Tess's pack, I was brought to the Werewolf academy. Why did they look down on me?

Why didn't he tell me it was his pen? He only asked me to pick the pen without informing me who the owner was. "You never specified that it was your pen." I told him.

The whole class gasped and everyone stared at me. Were they shocked because I talked back to him?

His loud and stern voice interrupted my thoughts. "Wow, just wow…"

I'm speechless. I'm surprised at how you got the voice to talk back at me, I'll teach you not to mess with me."

His eyes glared red and I became afraid.

Zoe jumped right in front of me. "Stop it, Tristan. She's new and inexperienced. Give her some time to adapt to you." She said,

His eyes returned back to his normal color and he went out of the class with his boys.

Zoe held my hands as we sat down. "What just happened? Who is he?" I asked, still confused.

"He's also a bully and like Alice, they would want to make your life miserable. I just hope you can bear all these till your mate picks you."

Tears filled my eyes. "But why do they hate me? I've barely done anything bad to them."

She gave me a reassuring smile. "It's normal for almost all werewolves to hate you. You got the opportunity to be in this academy as a human and this is an opportunity most werewolves find it difficult to get. They would be jealous and I won't suggest you mingle with them. Just have fun and be sure to follow me to Amber's birthday party tonight."

I frowned. I was just getting out of one trouble, I definitely didn't want to go to any of the wolf parties. They would definitely make it worse for me.

"I don't want to go." I muttered.

She put on a sad face. "C'mon, I just want you to have fun. You don't have to mingle with them, you can just come and hang out with my friends."

I gave up. "Alright, I'll come for the party tonight, I hope I don't get into trouble."

She chuckled. "Of course not," she replied, standing up before turning to look at me again. "And one more thing, don't forget to go to the hall for monthly attendance, it's in the next twenty minutes."

I nodded and winked at her. "Are there consequences if I miss the attendance?" I inquired.

"Believe me, you'll be sent to the woods where your life will be exposed to enemies. You shouldn't pray to go into the woods, most wolves don't survive there except the strong ones and you're not even a wolf."

As soon as she settled down at the front seat, I decided to explore the school and I stood up and left the class.

Once I found myself in the corridor, I was looking for a restroom. "Need help with something?" A guy who noticed my discomfort asked.

"Restroom... The female restroom."

He pointed in a direction. "By the left."

I thanked him and went towards the direction he pointed, taking a left turn and I found myself in front of the restroom.

I got in and slammed the door quietly. After doing my thing, I tried to open the door and realized it was shut. How? What happened?

"Somebody help me, I don't know who locked me in here." I shouted but to no avail. No one was there and even if there was someone there, I wasn't sure they would answer.

Wait, what was going on? Who locked me in the restroom? How was I going to avoid getting sent to the woods when I can't get out of here?

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I sank to the floor.
