Chapter Six

"What are you doing here?" He asked and quickly grabbed a towel which he used to cover his nakedness.

"Can I come in?"

No, why did I ask that question?

He nodded and I sat on the bed. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize someone would meet me in that state. You're Hailey right?" He inquired and I nodded.

"And you're?"

"Kyle... Kyle Brandon." He stammered, nervous.

It seemed I was already popular even before arriving. "Almost everyone seemed to know me, what happened? How's that possible?"

"The whole school was informed of your arrival and since we decided to take you in, we were informed earlier." He explained.

Sounds great! He was the son of my kind adopted Werewolf parents. "Huh, thanks for taking me in."

He smiled cheekily. "Now, I don't regret it, you truly are beautiful."

I knew he wasn't the Cursed Alpha because he was gentle and kind. He was the type of guy any girl would want to be mated with. "Thanks for the compliment."

"Where's your sister?" I inquired.

"Still at the Academy, I didn't go today because I wasn't feeling quite well. I've been hearing voices in my head and I don't know what that means."

And how was I supposed to know? C'mon, don't ask me, I'm not used to all this supernatural stuff. "Y'all change into wolves?"

He nodded. "Not all of us, the weak  can't shapeshift yet, some can't even do anything until they're 18."

That was a bummer. Was he going to take me to my room or was he going to allow me to stay in his room all day?

"Can you please take me to my room?"

"Your room is next door." He answered and I nodded, walking out of his room.

Walking into the next door, I felt a breath of fresh air and took a deep breath. What was life going to be for me now? I couldn't wait to get along with everyone and make friends.

I neatly arranged my clothes in the cupboard and laid on the bed. I definitely couldn't wait to start school, I was a little bit excited the school would be dominated by cute guys.

As soon as I placed my head on the pillow, I fell into the deep hands of sleep.

It felt like it had only been seconds of sleeping when my window curtain was raised up and the sun reflected on my face.

My eyes slowly opened and I stared into the face of a beautiful girl which I assumed to be Mr Brandon's daughter.

Looking at the clock, I realized it was morning already. I didn't even know how I slept that long.

She smiled at me as I sat up.  "Good morning," I greeted, returning the smile back with a good vibe. I didn't want her to feel I was proud.

"Hey hailey, good morning. Hope you slept well? I'm Zoe Brandon, Mr Brandon's daughter."

I nodded. "Yeah, I did. Thanks to you and your kind family."

She blushed and sat on my bed. "I can't believe I'm actually seeing a human after so many years."

I chuckled softly, surprised by her words. "That's shocking. I really want to appreciate your family for picking me as their adopted daughter."

She smiled. "Nah, it's alright. My parents are kind people so they had to pick you. I seriously can't wait for my mate to pick me, I've been anticipating this all my life."

Now, this was a question I wanted to find out. Why was everyone intrigued and excited about the mate stuff? Almost everyone seemed to be talking about picking a mate.

"Wow, that's great."

She grinned at me. "Aren't you excited? I'm sure someone will choose you soon. I've waited for this moment since I was a kid."

"That's wonderful."

I was speechless, I just got up from bed and went straight to the bathroom. When I saw my face in the mirror, I looked like shit. My straight hair was a complete mess and it was everywhere.

After standing under the shower as the cold water did its magic, I brushed my teeth and hair and put on some jeans, a blue shirt and a black canvas.

As I made my way downstairs, I could smell the pancakes already. Oh gosh, my nose was still sharp and pancakes were my favorite food. I was thinking about what to call them, I didn't want to refer to my adopted parents as dad or mom because I wasn't sure if they would like it.

And why was I already calling them my adopted parents?

Mr Brandon interrupted my thoughts with his voice. "Hey hun, we prepared pancakes today, come join us." He offered and I walked to the dining table with a smile on my face and greeted them.

Kyle winked at me and I faked a smile. I still wasn't comfortable knowing that I was surrounded by wolves and these people could use me as dinner anytime they were hungry.

At least, maybe I would have understood a little more about werewolves if my mom had made me watch them or read about them before she died.

As I took the first bite of the pancake, I licked my lips in shock. I was definitely not expecting their pancakes to be sweeter. The pancakes were more than tasty.

"How's it?" Mrs Brandon asked.

I couldn't hide the fact that I loved it. "It's the best."

"Aren't you anxious to be at school?" Zoe asked with a smirk on her face.

I didn't know what to answer. A part of me was anxious to be at the academy and another part of me wanted to stay at home.

"I'm nervous and shy, I don't know what to expect." I replied.

She chuckled softly. "Hell yeah, this place is definitely different. I'm sure you'll love everyone except Alice Greenwood."

I frowned at that name and statement. What did she mean by that statement? "Who's Alice?" I inquired.

"She's someone you don't want to mess with, she's a badass Werewolf and even more arrogant than any student because her parents are rich," she paused and gulped down a glass of water.

"Also, she's a bully." She added.
