Amelia Scott's p.o.v;
"He tossed the trash in our garbage can again this morning." My father raged at my mother about the neighbours."What were you doing as he dumped the garbage? How come you didn't stop him before he did that?" Mom returned his question."He dumped it when I was already there.""Then hurry up tomorrow, even before he drops the crap in our garbage can!"I was preoccupied with the food on my plate rather than their chat about the neighbours.I'm not sure when it started, but my parents have been feuding with my next-door neighbour for as long as I can remember. They compete in almost every sport. And by everything, I mean everything. In business, cooking, clothing, and even while making offerings to monks. My mother said she competed with the neighbour about having a boy and a girl in the future when the neighbours began boasting about having a boy and a girl, and it came true. My brother and I were born in our family, just like them. My parents and neighbours didn't waste any time in naming us after the first letter of the alphabet for both of us. Because our families fought and competed with each other in nearly everything, we ended up as adversaries as well.After we were born, our parents competed based on how well we studied and how disciplined we were. When I received first prize in school, my mother walked me to the front door and congratulated me so that the neighbours might hear her. And our neighbour does the same thing when her son receives good grades. This also applies to my brother. After finishing high school, my parents competed based on our grades to see who would get into university first.His father was overjoyed when his son was admitted to a prestigious institution, so my father forced me to study hard so that I could compete with him in his faculty as well. My father's dream was granted when I was admitted to the same university as him, but fate had other ideas for me, and I ended up in a different faculty, the Faculty of Western Music, while he was in the Faculty of Classical Music. My father was disappointed, but he encouraged me to earn the student of the year award so that I could compete with him. Urgh!Returning to reality,I took out my phone and checked the time. It's 7 am. It's already time for the first hour. I hurriedly completed my breakfast and told my mother, "I have some work in the library, so I'll be late today, Mom.""Did you take the report you'd been working on overnight?" Dad inquired."Yes, Dad.""Did you complete it?""Yes, dad.""How many points will you get?""Dad! It's simply a class report. This is not a semester exam.""OK," he asked again. "When will the student of the year award be given at your university?""Dad, the college has only been open for a week. If you really wanted that student of the year award, I'll go steal it for you. What do you think?"Mom whacked me on the head and yelled, "Don't talk like that to your father. Come ahead, make an apology to him.""I'm sorry, Dad.""Does it hurt?" Dad asked as he patted my head.I grinned and shook my head at him."Did Ash awaken?" Mom inquired.(My older brother, Ashton, is also known as Ash.)"He wasn't in his bed when I checked the room while hunting for a file cover. I believe he left early for football practice. Okay, Then I'll go to college. Bye, see you later.""Wait, I'll drop you," Dad said when I was drinking water."I'm going with Hannah, she told me she'll meet me on Exchange Avenue.""How will you do it?" "Can I drop you both off at college?""Dad, we're taking the college bus!" After retrieving my bag, I proceeded to the door."If you come across that individual, don't talk to him and...""I understand, Dad. That was something you said every day. I'm aware of this, and I'm already running late for class. Bye!"I walked out of the house and looked to my right, where the opposing Neighbors live. The door was shut. I believe he would have left by now. I sighed and walked while listening to music.“Hannah!” Before walking to Exchange Avenue, I called her when I spotted her. What exactly is she doing here?After I got closer to her, she waved her hands back at me and hugged me. She made a remark."WHAT?" I exclaimed."What took you so long?" she asked, taking my earphones out of my ears."Mom prepared my favourite breakfast today so..." I murmured, grinning."Come on, let's go," she pounded my head. "We're already late. The bus will arrive soon."We rushed as fast as we could to Exchange Avenue, she was holding my hand.As an introvert, it's difficult for me to make friends in middle and high school. However, at university, you are not required to form groups like you were in high school. Hannah was the only one that contacted me during the freshman ceremony, and we've been hanging out together ever since. She knows me better than anyone else. And she's also the only friend I have. I tease her a lot, and she teases me back. It's as though I've discovered a suitable companion.Andrew was standing on Exchange Avenue when we arrived.Andrew Campbell, our neighbor's first son, with whom we've been feuding for years. He was standing next to his friends. I don't care for his pals. We waited for the bus, and the bus arrived. Andrew stared at me as if he were asking me to compete for a seat on the bus."Come on, let's go inside first!" Hannah murmured, holding my hand.When I attempted to walk, I exclaimed, "Ack!" and tripped on the road.Hannah grabbed my shoulder and asked, "What happened?""I believe I sprained my ankle."“What!? Now? Are you serious? "What if he succeeds?""Can't you see my leg is hurting here? Who would compete with this leg? Don't you feel sorry for me?"While we were conversing, Andrew and his companions boarded the bus."I lost because of you." Hannah became enraged with me and boarded the bus.I gave her a kind grin."How long will it take you, Amelia Scott, to board the bus?" The driver spoke to me and cautioned me slightly.I apologised, and as I attempted to enter the bus, someone offered me their hand before I walked onto the stairs. When I looked up to see who that person was, it was Andrew. Is he certain I sprained my ankle for real? It was all a ruse to deceive my pal."What if my dad or your dad sees you when you're helping me board the bus?" I smirked.He sighed and stated, "They aren't here. And I won't be here for more than a minute. Would you please hurry?"I smiled, took his hand, and boarded the bus with his assistance. While I was attempting to enter, he whispered into my ears, "Don't say this to anyone," and then left to sit with his pals.I moved by him and sat next to Hannah, who was sitting on the centre section's window seat."How can you leave me like that?" I moved up to her and punched her in the shoulder.“Hmph! How did you injure your leg like that?""Are you upset as a result of that?" That made me giggle."I wanted to sit at the front, but they're always winning.""Awww... let's take the wheel tomorrow. Don't be concerned.""Oh, really?" she asked, giving me a look."That's what I bet on.""We'll see."Amelia Scott's p.o.v;Hannah returned to her game after cursing me for a time. I sighed as I stared at Hannah. Thank goodness she had no idea I was joking about my leg sprain. I didn't want to get into a confrontation with Andrew like our parents did with their neighbours.I put on my earbuds and began listening to music from my playlist. I grabbed 'You Are the Reason' from my playlist, set it to repeat, and began listening.I sat back in my seat and bent my head to the left, where I noticed Andrew and his pals sitting in the front. He was conversing and joking with his pals, and he appeared to be content. I grinned when I saw him smiling around his buddies. Why am I happy when you are smiling like that?Aside from our parents battling about nearly everything, there is a secret that no one knows about. Want to hear it? Okay, I'll say it to you but promise me that you won't tell him. I have feelings for Andrew Campbell, who is supposed to be my rival since childhood.It all started whil
Amelia Scott's p.o.v;"My name is Caleb Jenkins, and I'm a sophomore in your Western music department. This is Robert Hayes. Every year, we organise classes for freshmen to learn how to play musical instruments. We understand that everyone of you already knows how to play an instrument of your choosing, we're here to teach you a musical instrument that is different from the one you already know. In partnership with other colleges, we produced music concerts and musical events. The purpose of this group is to encourage all students to study additional musical instruments of their choice. If you want to be a part of a concert, you must pass the audition, and after many stages of auditions, you will be performing on behalf of our university. Don't worry about the later sessions, we will train you for them as well. However, you must pass the basic level of audition, which will be held in the second week of the next month. Students who are interested can offer their names to our classes now
Amelia's pov;"I'm so sick of it. They irritate me so much that I want to report them to the teacher, but should I?" While we were in class, Sophia whined alongside me."Who are you referring to?" Asked as I took my notebook from my backpack."Peter and Harry! Aren't they sick of making fun of you? I was in the cafeteria with you when they teased you, so I was able to protect you. What if they had you all to themselves? How will you look after them?""Why are you suddenly sounding like my mother? And, based on what happened back there, it appears that, in addition to me, someone else was teased, right?""Stop making fun of me. Never will I be able to let go of this so simply.""Peter or Harry? Who are you making reference to? "You'll be able to tell when I made the report," "Are you certain that you're going to report them?""Why do I have to make that up? Since the ceremony for freshmen, they have been harassing us. They had been making fun of us since we got on the college bus in t
Amelia Scott's p.o.v;The weekend arrived earlier than intended. While I was waiting for Hannah, I went shopping at the mall. Hannah eventually shouted my name and waved her hands in the air to gain my attention."I apologise for being late.""Let's go to the music store," I said, nodding."Wait, what exactly is this outfit?""What's wrong with my outfit?"I took a glance at my clothes. I was dressed in baggy grey jeans and a black tee."Why do you constantly dress in monochrome? Can't you wear some bright colours at least once?""I don't want to be the centre of attention.""I'm not asking you to dress up for other people. At the very least, dress for yourself. Put on your favourite colours. Such as Yellow.""I'd look like a lemon if I did it.""I wonder why you have a favourite colour even though you don't own any clothes in that colour," she sighed. "Let's go buy the violin together."Is it necessary to own a fabric if I have a favourite colour?We walked into the music store. When
Amelia Scott's p.o.v;Since I'm bad with directions, Hannah takes care of me with that. I tried to learn the ways and the stops but I kept on forgetting the signs and got lost twice during my elementary and once in middle school and once in high school. My parents got worried about me so they don't let me out often unless it's with Hannah.While I was drinking the smoothie, it reminded me of the moment when I accidentally touched Andrew's hand. I smiled to myself and continued drinking. I took my phone and turned on the front camera and looked into it. I saw Andrew talking to Peter while drinking the chocolate smoothie. I took a selfie holding a chocolate smoothie in my hand along with Andrew drinking chocolate smoothie in the background. "I said to hurry up and you're taking pictures. Do you have so much leisure time?" Hannah asked.I smiled and put my phone back into my pocket and finished drinking my chocolate smoothie and said with a bright smile, "Come on, let's go.""Finally."
Amelia's pov;When I entered the house, I noticed my mother watching a movie in the living room. Dad wasn't there. I believe he was still at work, and Ash wasn't either."How did you spend your day?" She inquired as I was removing my shoes near the front door."Yes, that was enjoyable. I had a good time with Hannah. Mom, I'm going to my room.""All right, what do you want for dinner?""Whatever my mom cooks is my favourite. So, Surprise me." Said with a bright smile.She gave me a sly grin.I went straight to my room and sat down on the bed. I was exhausted and felt a breeze on my face. The fan was not running when I looked up at the ceiling. I was surprised to see the windows wide open as I looked in the direction of the wind. Did mother open the windows? I hurriedly shut my room's window, drew the blinds, and peered through it to see if Andrew was in his room. I noticed an empty room when I looked around. I don't think he's arrived yet. I stepped into the shower after closing the bl
In the instrument class, Caleb, senior "I'm glad to see so many people joining the class this semester. I'm a little worried because the sum is higher than I expected." He said, clearing his throat "What I mentioned in your classes, you already knew. We will assist you in learning musical instruments and will advise you if you like to participate in any musical competition. For the time being, because the strength is so strong, we decided to hold an audition for the instrument class. For that, you'll be performing Cord C in front of me, Jacob and two other seniors who can't make it today since they're discussing the upcoming musical contest in our college. So be ready for the next class and come prepared.""What type of audition will it be?" someone in the audience inquired.Caleb, senior "For the audition, as you'll be performing Cord C, We'll choose the best members from among you."Someone, "You stated that you are teaching everyone, so why are you excluding members through an aud
In the music club, "What exactly are you doing here? Did Andrew ask you to arrive early?" Caleb senior, inquired."No, I came to practise on my own interest," I responded, shaking my head.He sat down beside me and inquired, "You can also practise at your place. You are not required to come here and practise everyday."If only I could come here, I could see Andrew better than via the window, but how can I say that to you? So I lied, "This place inspires me in some way.""Did you leave late last night?"I gave him a nod."You don't have to wait till he tells you to leave, you can leave whenever you like. Got it?"I gave him a nod."I ask every person who comes to learn, what is their purpose for learning music. What about you?" he asked.Andrew Campbell, please! He's the reason I'm learning to play the guitar!!"I came to learn it because I have to perform in my last semester." I lied."Acceptable, but learn with your heart rather than your mind, it will help you learn it faster.""Ok
