Darien's POV

The girl was still knocked out cold when I returned to the car. I hissed at the sight. I had completely forgotten about her. I stopped to take a good look at her to make sure she was truly unconscious.

Right now, all thoughts of torturing and breaking were not as appealing as they'd seemed earlier. It just felt like a waste of time and energy. She was a nobody, and I had been reeled in by the heat of the moment. Now I didn't even want to see her. It was too much of a burden.

I had half a mind to dump her out of the car in the middle of the road, but it was right in front of the company building and would raise a lot of questions. I could not afford that sort of scandal, especially not right now.
