~ Ava ~

I turned my face to avoid his gaze. What the fuck was Adrain trying to do?

Kiss me or what?

He should just talk about the deal or even about signing it so I will get the hell out of here.

But on a second thought, kissing him will actually mean a way of getting back at Emilia. She thinks getting married to Adrain would end me taking over all that belongs to her.

Emilia is obviously destined to lose all she has to me. It is fate; fate doesn’t want her happiness.

I turned to face him again; he leaned closer, his lips brushing against mine.

“I missed seeing your face, looking into your eyes, and touching your hair."

I blinked rapidly, eager to allow his lips to crush mine.

I thought of how Emilia was going to feel if she finds out I have Adrain wrapped around my fingers.

The look of sheer horror and dejection that would play on her face if she were to get to know.

“I want you to recreate it.” He said and lifted his face from mine.

“What?"

“The drawing, I want you to draw it again, one copy, two copies, a hundred copies, I want them." He nodded and stepped back a little.

My heart sank and I looked away from him.

If there is anything I was bad at, it was drawing. I was so terrible at it that I couldn't even make a perfect circle.

It was just here that Emilia was better than I. She drew so well that she was given a scholarship years ago in an artistic company.

But I’d hid the letter from her, making sure she didn’t get the chance to leave.

“I’m not in for this, Adrain. Drawing or no drawing, it isn’t what I came here to do. " I managed to say, praying in my heart he shouldn’t talk about the drawing anymore.

“I want the drawing, Charlotte, please.” He pleaded and looked into my eyes.

"This is our memory, Charlotte; do you just want to throw it away like that?"

"It’s not now, Adrain; I wouldn’t just pick up an ink or pencil and delve into drawing right now. I’m not in the right state of mind.”

Adrain walked back to his desk; he pulled the drawer attached to the desk and brought out a little box. He opened it and shoved it to my face. It contained everything needed for drawing. The small drawing box, contained neatly arranged pencils, an eraser, a sharpener, a ruler, and a few coloring tools.

“Here, Charlotte, I got everything you will be needing to draw. I invited you here so we can spend time together. I want you to draw while I watch you do it."

I burst out in laughter.

"Are you okay, Adrain?” I folded my arms around my chest. "You invited me all the way from Solana to Lycaonia to draw for you? Are you serious?” I stepped closer.

“It isn’t that bad, Charlotte. You clearly stated you were free and still gathering yourself. So I thought it would help, knowing fully well how you loved doing it.” He pulled my hand and dropped the box in my palm.

"You loved drawing, Charlotte; you never hesitated to draw even when you were hurt the most. Drawing calmed you the most, remember?" he explained, like he was trying to bring in the memories I had forgotten.

Right now, I was cut up in the middle. The Charlotte girl loved drawing, which is not something I can do.

He said it calmed her, and she drew even when she was sad.

It explains that acting sad to avoid drawing wouldn’t work. And so I needed to act fast to avoid being caught.

“That was then Adrain, when I was younger. But now, a lot is going on in my life. I don’t want to draw.” I finalized.

Seems we aren’t much ahead of Adrain. This part of Charlotte wasn’t mentioned to me, and Dad didn’t know either.

“You know what, Adrain? I will do this drawing when next I come.”

Adrain went back to sit on the chair behind the desk.

“This was the reason for inviting you here.”

“I will take my leave then." I held the door handle to pull it open when he spoke.

“Consider the deal canceled, Charlotte.” He smirked.

"I will get them signed on one condition: if you do the drawing.”

His voice echoed in my head. And I stopped mid-steps.

What was Adrain trying to do, manipulate me into drawing some unknown thing in exchange for the deal?

I responded, and Adrain moved to the door.He opened the door, and Ivy bowed, making way for him to leave before she came in.‘Shit, I was still tying a towel.’"Just hold on, Ivy; I will invite you in when I’m done.” Ivy turned back and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.I hurriedly put on my clothes and then called her back.“Ma’m, someone brought you this." She said and stretched out a white envelope to my face.I looked at it and then back at her face.I crossed my arms. "Someone dropped it for me?” I queried, confused.“Yes, ma'am. The letter was directed to you.” She explained. What she said wasn’t just adding up.Who would possibly drop off a letter for me?“Drop it here, Ivy." I pointed at the couch. Ivy gently placed the envelope there and bowed before leaving. After I had packed my hair, I went to where the envelope was kept and picked it up.I went to my bed and sat down, assessing the letter. ‘Emilia Grayson’ was boldl

~ Emilia ~The bang I felt on my head when I woke up was massive.I smiled, remembering how Adrain carried me in his arms to my room and then tucked me into bed after I told him I felt sleepy. He really cared, though. He ensured the vase didn’t hit my head, not just once but thrice. How do you feel when someone you think doesn't love you suddenly starts to care? The feeling is reassuring, so reassuring that you would fall for him again.I rolled myself out of the bed and headed to the bathroom. When I came back to my room, my mind raced back to the event that played earlier. How could a vase drop from the servants' quarters not even once but three whole times?Something is off. I sat down on my bed and crossed my leg, looking up to the sky as the thoughts flew in.I saw the figure, at least from his neck down to his head. But they were all covered in a black mask; I couldn’t see his face. Why would someone throw off a vase without even checking if someone was there? Let's say the v

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    Someone Is Watching

~ Adrain ~I paced in my room, patiently waiting for Austin to arrive.“You called me." Austin bowed as soon as he stepped in."Earlier at the courtyard, did you make sure all the guards were present?" I stopped to face him.He tilted his head, then nodded."Yes, Alpha, I made sure they all left their quarters."“No," I shook my head. “They didn’t all leave their quarters.” I leaned closer.“Who then threw the glass?"“The glass?" Austin echoed, confused.“Yes, the vase. Not just once or even twice, but thrice. Three fucking times." I made the sign with my hands for clearer understanding.Austin still looked confused, and then I knew I needed to explain.“After addressing the guards, I was leaving and then bumped into Emilia, and next thing, a vase fell from the servant quarters almost hitting her.” I paused.Austin's expression was unreadable, but a mix of shock and confusion was written all over him.“I pulled her out the first time, the second, and the third time." I clenched my fi

I screamed as the glass fell the second time, shattering on the floor inches before me.I rested my head on his chest and shut my eyes tightly. The glass would have shattered on my head if not for Adrain.I opened my eyes and raised my head to look at him, and our eyes met.'No,' I screamed in my head. Don't fall for this Emilia. He just wanted to save you, not because you are special. It’s still the same thing he would have done for anyone that stood there.I disentangled from his hold."Thanks," I muttered and turned to leave when his voice stopped me."Just wait, Emilia.”I stopped in my tracks without turning to face him.He walked up to me and held my shoulders.“You are upset with me, Emilia.” He started.I stood still, not even movin

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    The Alpha's Cruelty

~ Emilia ~ I watched Adrain leave and shook my head in disgust. Adrain isn't even worth my love. But wasn’t I even a fool for falling for someone who made it clear in the first place that our marriage was just for paper's sake and nothing else attached to it? But something off was going on in this pack. I have overheard Austin complaining about a curse and the death of someone. I hissed; it shouldn’t be any of my business though. The pack's affairs aren't meant to be bothering me. My next plan was finding out more about Charlotte and how she is anyway, Ava. I looked at the drawing and made up my mind not to continue with it or even look at it ever again. I needed to concentrate on my well-being till the marriage days elapse, and I would leave just as he said. I folded back the half-painted drawing, including the box of instruments I needed for the drawing, and headed outside to trash it. I didn’t want to trash it anywhere close because looking at it might make me wa
