Sold to the Mafia Brothers

Calista handled the dessert almost carefully to Gianna's table. She kept her eyes on the dessert as she walked, feeling as though the dessert would fall no matter how she moved her hand.

When she got close to the table, she looked at the two people in front of her with a smile. But she stopped when she saw her husband's appearance. Wearing a white long sleeve and looking handsome tonight.

 Even Nicolas couldn't believe what he saw. What on earth is his wife doing here? He noticed that Calista's clothing was soaked and that practically all of her hair was not tied properly.

Calista held the dessert in her hand until she lost all control of her grip and let it fall on the ground. The plate broke in front of Nicolas.

"Oh my god!" Gianna's reaction.

Calista promptly apologized after realizing what she was holding was broken and picked up each broken plate one at a time. She also used her pocket rag to wipe the spilled dessert.

Nicolas was unable to move in shock. He found it hard to believe Calista was working here. He was focusing her gaze on Calista, who seemed to be mopping the floor.

"What the hell are you doing?" he asked Calista with a mixture of surprise.

"Um...sorry Sir. My hand is slippery. Don't worry, I will clean your shoes." Calista replied that she couldn't look him in the eyes.

Nicolas was shaking, unable to speak. Sir? His wife called him Sir?

"Don't do that." Nicolas answered emphatically, but Calista didn't seem to pay attention to him, she continued cleaning.

"Let him do her job, Nicolas." Gianna interrupted. She looked at Calista. "Hurry up and clean it up! You're ruining our date!”

Nicolas became so enraged that he lost control and dragged Calista from the restaurant.

Gianna was surprised by what Nicolas did.

"Let me go!" Calista said as soon as she and Nicolas got out.

"What the hell is that, Calista?" Nicolas asked her, annoyed.

"I'm doing my job!"

"Bullshit! You don't have to do that.”

"And why not, Nicolas? I want to have a normal life. At least with my job, even though it's hard, I'm not afraid of those around me that I could die anytime!"

The conversation between the two of them is getting emotional. Nicolas believes that what Calista is referring to is the danger that every time they are together something bad will happen. And someone will be in danger.

Nicolas was quiet. "Calista please… come back to me. You don’t deserve this—"

Calista shook her head in response to Nicolas's words.  "Come back? Do you think I will come back to you after what I saw? My suspicion is right...you two have a relationship. I won't be surprised because I saw you two kissing before. What's different about what you're doing now, right?"

"She kissed me! But I didn't kiss her."

"They are the same, Nicolas!” Calista couldn't stop pouring out her pain. “And why am I reacting like this? And the truth is we are not married."

"What are you saying?"

"Huh, you still deny the truth?" Calista stared at Nicolas. The pains she feels seem to be coming back from those times. "Our marriage was not real. You made me believe that we are married, for what? So that you can grab me by the neck and do whatever you want?"

Nicolas was surprised, he couldn't even answer. He didn't know that Calista already had an idea about the fake marriage he did more than three years ago.

"You have to listen to my explanation, Calista," Nicolas seemed to soften. He barely had the strength to face Calista now, he was disgusted with himself.

Calista shook her head. She was annoyed with Nicolas, "I don't know if I can believe you Nicolas. Do what you want, go back to your date and please don't tell her the lie you made up. because no matter how you introduce me as your wife...I will reject you again and again," Calista said emphatically, holding back her tears.

Nicolas had roughly twice been stabbed in the chest. He didn't think that Calista was denying him. He couldn't stop his tears from falling.

"Calista..." he just said. He was trying to approach Calista when a car arrived.

It was Edward.

Edward quickly got out of the car when he saw Nicolas seem to be doing something. He looked at Calista, he noticed that Calista was wiping her tears. "What's going on here?"

"Fuck off. The two of us are talking." Nicolas answered her.

"That's enough Nicolas, I'll go with Edward." Calista said seriously.

Nicolas was shocked. Almost no words came out of his mouth, he couldn't move from where he was standing.

"Go back inside, please… don't let me lose my job." Calista begged.

Nicolas just bowed. Although Edward did not understand what was happening, did not participate in the confrontation between the two of them.

Calista dashed into the kitchen, grabbing her bag. "Come on, Edward," she said as she ran to the car.

Edward simply stared at Nicolas. He didn't say anything, but went inside and started the car.

After Calista got into the car, she didn't even look back at Nicolas. She managed not to cry either until they left that place. And then she started crying when Edward and her got away.

Edward did not say anything. He kept quiet and let Calista pour her tears. While Nicolas just held his head. He looked up, he couldn’t control his tears from falling. He feels so much pain.

He wants to punch; he wants to pour out his anger. That's why when he got back inside the restaurant, he immediately ordered a lot of alcohol. Without paying attention to Gianna.

 She doesn't seem to understand why Nicolas is behaving in this way... She thought that he was having a relationship with the woman who worked at her restaurant.

She stayed with him until he was completely drunk.

Orvin arrived right away to pick up Nicolas. Orvin politely said goodbye to Gianna as he led Nicolas into the car. Gianna's gaze followed while Orvin supported Nicolas. She still has no idea what happened. Nicolas appeared to drift off to sleep in his seat as a result of his drunkenness.

"Calista... please," he said solemnly.
