Chapter 6 - Annoy Her to Death

"Head back to the mansion to have lunch," she told him without looking at him and went out of the room.

Tyler's face darkened. No one has ordered him what to do besides his superiors in the military. Jade was the first one who dared to it

He exasperatedly followed Jade outside. He saw her going to the open plan kitchen and walked over to her.

After taking out some ingredients from the fridge, Jade turned to the island and was surprised to see Tyler seated on the chair.

"Why are you still here?" She asked, carefully suppressing the irritation she felt to seep through her voice.

However, Tyler could hear her tone tinged with annoyance but he couldn't be bothered. He decided to annoy her to death.

"I'm too lazy to drive," Tyler said leisurely watching her reaction.

Blood rushed through her head, making her seeth in anger. She felt like throwing the ingredients to his face but held back her anger.

She put down the ingredients on top of the island and turned around.

This is absolutely a torture. Jade wanted to pull her hair but she couldn't

'Why did I let myself be fooled by General Max, believing him that his cousin is a good person?'

"What are we having for our lunch?" Tyler's voice sounded, making her fume even more.

She didn't answer him and started slicing the ingredients.

She was going to cook Korean noodles. She fell in love with Korean cuisine when she spent a two week holiday in Korea.

Tyler didn't irk her anymore, afraid that she would put something on his food. He just watched her nimbly slice the ingredients.

Three quarters of an hour later, she served a big bowl of noodles in front of him.

"Have a taste," Jade said and handed him a chopstick.

Tyler stared at her then glanced at the bowl of mouthwatering noodles before him, then looked back at her. He saw the corner of her lips curled up with one brow lifted.

"Did you put anything in here?" He suspiciously asked her, making her roll her eyes at him.

'How suspicious, he was here the whole time I cooked.'

"If you don't want to eat, then don't," Jade said and held the bowl to take it away from him.

"No," Tyler placed his hands on top of her hands to stop her.

As if being scalded by the heat on Tyler’s hands over hers, abruptly pulling away her hands, the bowl tipped over, spilling some soup on his hand.

"Ouch!" Tyler said in response to the burning sensation he felt in his hand.

"I'm sorry," Tyler heard the remorse in her voice.

Tyler was stunned when Jade held his hand and tugged him to the sink. He looked at her while she ran cold water on his burnt hand.

"Let your hand stay under the running water, I'll be back," she said before she dashed off to her room.

It wasn't long before she returned with her first aid kit. And put it on top of the island, then came near Tyler.

She pulled him towards the island, Tyler let her drag him. The whole time she attended to him, he remembered Sophia.

Sophia saved him from being hit by a car. She pulled him and his knee was injured in the process. When she saw the blood on his knee, she pulled a handkerchief from her jumper and tied it on his bleeding knee.

"Done," she said, pulling him out of his daze.

He looked at his hand wrapped with a bandage with complicated emotions.

She stood up and put in another serving of noodles. She placed it before him. Afterwards, she took the previous one and placed it in front of her.

He furrowed his eyebrows as a flurry of emotion swept inside his chest at what she did. She took the already lukewarm noodles and gave him a new serving.

"Let's eat!" She said with a genuine smile plastered on her face.

"Thank you," Tyler said, lifting his hand wrapped with a bandage.

"Don't mention it. As a surgeon, I have to do it," she said and picked up her chopsticks.

Being in the medical field she developed a compassionate heart. Her heart always goes out to the person that was ill or hurt.

Tyler looked at her in unbelief. Max never mentioned to him that she's a surgeon and she's too young for it. All he knew about her was that she was an expert hacker.

"I know you won't believe me because I don't look like one," Jade wasn't offended as it wasn't her first time to receive such a reaction when she says she's a surgeon.

Tyler said nothing and began eating his noodles. He was impressed that she could cook. However, he never said anything to praise her cooking skill.

When they finished eating, Jade washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen quickly.

Tyler watched her the whole time she worked in the kitchen.

Jade approached him after cleaning the kitchen. "Go back to the mansion. I still have to continue my —" she clammed up when Tyler stared at her and gave off a bone chilling aura that intimidated her, making her remember the night he pointed a gun at her.

Everytime he stepped forward, she stepped backward. He kept on advancing until she fell on the couch. She curled up like a scared rabbit.

"Don't order me around," he growled while towering over her.
