The Underground Place I

Over time, silence predominated. For the entire minute, no one has mentioned anything I've stated. Even Auster's appearance caused my eyes to tighten. He continues to stare at me as if he is trying to decide if what I’m saying is real or simply a joke from his friend. I didn't smile or laugh at him at that moment, though.

I simply cross my legs while sitting and lift one eyebrow as I lean to gaze at him.

“So, my friend, what do you think of my proposal?” I did inquire, but as soon as I realize I had just copied Xander's speech pattern, the words I had just spoken had a terrible aftertaste.

Shaking my head, I sit back down on the chair and cross my hands over my lap in anticipation of the young man's remarks.
