Chapter 13

After the twins were done eating, we headed out of the house. I could still hear my mother talking to me through the mind link, but I tried to block her out. She was trying to tell me how it wasn’t going to be so bad riding with the twins to school, even though she knew that it was going to turn out to be.

“See you later kids.” The Alpha bid us farewell, and we headed out of the house to the garage where the cars are kept.

The silence between us was heavy as Damon got into the driver’s seat, and Lucas got into the passenger’s seat. Lucas was always the one that drove them back to school, and Damon always drove them there.

Bitterness settled in my neck when I remembered how I used to get dirty water splashed on me every day on my way back to school. It was either them, or Eva, or the other bullies in my school that had cars.
