Chapter 12

“Wake up, Pumpkin.” Someone jerked me awake.

I let out an inward groan as I raised my head to look at who it was that interrupted my sleep. I nearly rolled my eyes when my eyes set on Eva. How was she even here this early?

I yawed my gaze to the clock, and I realized that I had overslept. This time, I didn’t stop the groan from escaping my lips. This wasn’t how I wanted to make an appearance in school.

“Thanks for waking me up.” I dragged my body off the bed, blinking away the sleep in my eyes.

“You are welcome. I’ll be coming up here to wake you up whenever I have to. That’s the fun of bringing neighbors, right?” She wiggled her brows.

She lived in the pack house with her father. The palace was in the pack house, where people of the higher ranks stay. It also had accommodation for people that didn’t have homes to live in, but it is barely used because everyone preferred to stay home.
