Chapter 5

Third person’s POV

After the mating ceremony was over, the Alpha king was filled with rage. He had never been angry towards his sons like he was this way since their mother left.

Ever since she left them to chase her career in another city, living him in the most excruciating pain he had ever felt in his life which was due to him getting separated from his mate, he put his all into raising his children the proper way.

But tonight, they embarrassed him. They proved to be mannerless in front of the whole pack and disgraced a woman. That was the one of the things he frowned heavily upon.

What annoyed him the most was that the lady was no one other than the daughter of the woman he loved.

Alpha Damien had always had a crush on Sierra Coleman, who was Andrea’s mother. When she got pregnant and banished from the pack, he was heartbroken because he planned on divorcing his already pregnant wife for her.

His wife was not a good woman. She was his mate too, but she cheated on him at every chance she got. He wanted to divorce her, and he knew he would get in trouble with his father for that, but Sierra was worth it to him.

Then had planned a lot and fell in love, but she ended up making a mistake that spoiled their future. When his father died, he knew he had to bring her back to the pack and keep her near him where he could see her every day.

The both of them have aged, but they found out that they were mated recently when they couldn’t leave the sight of each other.

Alpha Damien decided that he was going to marry her. It might be late in life, and their kids might have grown up but he would be damned if he let his only true love go.

He wasn’t going to allow her to slip away just like that.

Alpha Damien was shocked when his sons got mated to Andrea. He decided to tell them all that he was going to marry Andrea’s mother after the mating ceremony, but then that happened.

He was so filled with rage. The look on Sierra’s face as her daughter ran away broke his heart into pieces. He loved her, so her pain reflected on him too.

After the ceremony, he called his sons out to the corner alongside Sierra who was fuming with anger.

She was never going to live his sons, and he knew that. No mother would be nice to the people that treated her daughter that way in front of the entire pack.

“What the hell is wrong with the both of you?” Alpha Damien thundered, glaring at his two sons that were standing before him.

They had never thought their father would ever raise his voices at them but yet, it was happening. He was right in front of them, looking like he wanted to snap their necks.

“What did we do, father?” Lucas asked, his voice shaking.

Alpha Damien scoffed and looked away. He ran his fingers down his hair and licked his lips, then turned to face Sierra who now had tears in her eyes.

“That poor girl. What has she ever done to the both of you? Why would you reject her that way?”

The twins glanced at each other before they started simultaneously, “We don’t want her.”

“I should go and check up on her.” Andrea’s mother sniffed, her chest tightening.

She couldn’t stand seeing her entire world being spoken about that way. She was always convinced that she raised the sweetest daughter, but yet all she had ever received was hate in the pack.

Before Alpha Damien could speak, she had already reached the door.

“Listen, the both of you. Pray that Andrea is not gone or your punishment is going to be severe.” He threatened, meaning every word he said.

“What are you going to do?” Damon crossed his arms around his chest.

“I am going to send the both of you to a boarding school in the human world.” He replied almost immediately.

That was something that he had never considered but if they stood in the way of him finding his true love, he wasn’t going to think twice before doing it.

They were both adults and were past the age of pampering.

Lucas scoffed, “You can’t do that father. I am the future Alpha. There is no one to succeed to the throne but me.” He shrugged.

Alpha Damien took a step forward toward his son. He towered over him, intimidating him with his sharp emerald eyes that looked feral.

But Lucas didn’t falter. He wanted to whimper at the sight of his father standing in front of him, but then he didn’t.

He was an Alpha too, and aspired to be an even greater lycan king than his father.

“Watch me try. I could give Beta Aaron the throne to succeed. If you think I won’t do it, then just watch.” His father replied.

Lucas knew his father could do it. He never goes back on his words. He could take them to the human world and dump them, where it would just be them against the world.

Everyone in the pack was told stories about how cruel the human world was and even at their age, the twins still feared it.

They couldn’t imagine living with people that were defenseless yet filled with the most vile thoughts in their heads that were even more dangerous than what the supernatural’s could do.

They have been told about a human poisoning their partners, or a child killing their parents. In the supernatural world, those were unimaginable sins.

So, Lucas stepped back.

He didn’t want to go into any unnecessary fight with his father.

“I’m sorry.” Lucas apologized, humbling his ego because he knew more than anyone who had the upper hand here.

“But why are you doing this father? Why do you care about this girl?” Damon shot his father a questioning look.

Alpha Damien took a deep breath.

“Sierra, son. She was my first love. She’s my mate, and I want to get married to her.” He deadpanned.

Silence. Pin-drop silence. The twins felt numb. They couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

The mother of the girl they had tortured their entire life was the woman he wanted to marry?

A werewolf?

“No, father.” Damon shook his head, not believing what he had just heard.

Just then, Sierra Coleman rushed into the room frantically, breaking the thick silence in the room.

“My daughter. Andrea is gone, Alpha Damien.” She stuttered, panic painted all over her features.

“Goodness.” Alpha Damien gasped.

“What am I going to do? She could be killed by rogues. Oh my God.” She started to sob.

Alpha Damien would leave and search the entire woods for Sierra’s daughter. He could do more than that for her.

But he couldn’t leave. He had a lot of responsibilities that he couldn’t leave behind.

“The both of you,” he sternly uttered. “You are the reason Andrea left the pack. You are going to go and search the woods for her and bring her back to Sierra. If not…” He gave them a look the twins immediately understood.

He was going to do exactly what he said he was going to. They had no choice.

“You’re making the wrong choice. Getting married to this woman.” Damon spat, taking a disgusted glance at Sierra.

Alpha Damien growled, and his son whimpered in submission. He knew his father wouldn’t tear him up for saying that, but he still felt intimidated.

They strolled out of the room and headed out toward the border.

“Are we really doing this?” Damon growled.

Lucas, who still had rage in the system, shrugged.

“There is nothing we can do about it. We just need to find the damn girl we rejected.” He replied to him.

Just then, he picked her scent from afar.

“We could tell him that we didn’t find her,” Damon suggested.

“Are you crazy?” Lucas turned his neck, annoyed by his brother. “We are lycans. We smell everything. I literally have her scent and I’m sure she is very far from here. Let’s be going.” He gestured at his brother.

Lucas shifted, the upper parts of his clothes ripping off him. He let out a growl before he started to trot toward the direction of her scent.

His brother shifted too, then let out a howl before he caught up with his brother. Lucas was significantly bigger than Damon.

Even though they were twins, their lycan state looked different. They kept traveling until they got to the border of a pack where her scent was oozing the most.

“She’s here,” Lucas growled.

He didn’t waste time before he got in. It was the full moon, which was the most vulnerable time for werewolf packs.

There was no one at the border because they were all shifted. They headed towards the scent again, taking time to marvel at the beauty of the pack.

When they got into the pack quarters, they walked in right when Andrea was about to take the pack link ritual.

“No,” Lucas said, announcing his appearance.

The both of them turned to look at them, and the horror on Andrea’s face was unmatched.

If he wanted to get his rightful place as the Alpha, then he needed her to come back to the Shadow Moon pack as its citizen, not the citizen of this rather peaceful-looking werewolf pack.
