Chapter Twenty-two

The shrieking cry of a baby pierces the air and Gabriella shifts annoyedly on the bed she lay on. She turns about for a while before finally sitting up with a frown.

"Why won't that child just shut up and sleep?", she complains grouchily in a sleepy tone just as realization dawns on her.

There was only one place she had slept in her entire life where a child had interrupted her sleep by crying loudly in the night.

"Damn Gabriella, how are you here in Marvin's home again?", she reprimands herself. "How come that child is even back home?", she snorts just as her memories suddenly come back to her in a flash making her groan.

"To think that I'm the one that brought up the idea of adding more wolfsbane to the dart mixture so that it would be more effective. Look how long you've been unconscious now", she chuckles as she remembers getting shot.

'Is it possible for me to make my way out of here before daybreak?', she wonders and looks out of the window only to see that it was already
