ELIAS’ POV
The hum of the car engine filled the suffocating silence that always came before my father decided to speak. My eyes were fixed on the tinted windows but I could still see the faint outline of the mountain ahead. We were on our way to Mortlach Academy, a place that shaped leaders, warriors and heirs that the world expected me to be. Every heir had to attend the moment they turned 21 and I just became of age to attend. “Elias, you are not just my son anymore, you are the future Alpha of Silverhaven Pack. Every move you make reflects on our Pack. Do you understand?” “Yes sir.” I kept my head up as my fingers dug into the seat to head my nervousness. He didn't look at me which was usual whenever he was lecturing me. “You are the future Alpha of the biggest pack, they will challenge your authority, strength and bloodline. You should never show any sign of weakness or flaws that can be used against our Pack.” Weakness. That word always hit me hard. My heart rate increased and I inhaled slowly, trying to be extra careful not to let my real scent leak. I couldn't afford my secret to be exposed, especially not around him. “I won't,’ I answered, keeping my tone calm and stable. “You and mom trained me better than that.” He nodded in approval but it wasn't enough to ease the tension in my chest because beneath my well tailored and ironed suit, was an omega who has been trained to act like an Alpha his whole life, and the suppressants my mother brew to hide his scent and omega instinct running through his veins. I was a disgrace my mother polished and controlled. I was her only child, her miracle child and she was ready to sacrifice it all for me. She was the main reason why I was still hiding. If my secret gets out, it will destroy both of us. The car slowed down as we reached the grand iron gates of Mortlach Academy. The guards bowed as our car drove in. When the car stopped at the main building, I got out after my father and saw students walking in groups. Their scent is thick with dominance and pride, making me want to put my head down in fear but I dare not. My father patted my shoulder. “Go make Silverhaven proud and no matter what you do, stay away from Crescent Pack. They are nothing but trouble.” The Crescent Pack are our greatest rival but after the last war that took place 30 years ago, we finally came to a truce even though the bad blood was still running in our veins. Crescent Pack and Silverhaven Pack made sure to avoid having anything to do with each other and it has become an unspoken rule in my Pack to never associate with Crescent Pack. “Yes sir.” I walked into the school building as my father's car drove away. My wolf stirred nervously within me as I felt dozens of eyes sizing me up, assessing me. My omega instinct screamed to lower my gaze and avoid notice but I didn't. Instead, I lifted my chin, squared my shoulders and met their stares head-on, just like my mother trained me to. Here, I wasn't an Omega, I was Elias Thorne, future Alpha of the Silverhaven. The son of power and dominance. That was the perfect lie I had to continue living in. As soon as I got to the reception, I was given the key to my dorm room, a map of the school and a book of the rules and regulations. I located my dorm room by following the instructions from the receptionist. Room 89. I took a deep breath and pushed the door opened. The room was bigger than I thought, there were two queen sized beds, two desks and a pair of every single thing in the room. ‘It seems we will be sharing a room with another Alpha or Beta. That's definitely not intimidating at all,’ Carlos, my wolf said nervously. “We'll be fine,” I assured him. “We just have to follow mom's instructions just like we have been doing for the past 21 years without getting caught.” I unpacked my stuff in the right side of the room and decided to take a bath to wash off all the stress from the long trip. Mortlach Academy was established by the Council elder and was not under the control of any Pack which was why it was located close to the mountain faraway from all the Packs. I stepped out of the shower in a towel and stood in front of the mirror. Discharging the towel on the bed, I put on my briefs before I took out a shot of suppressants and injected it into my arm. My eyes shot close as I felt the suppressants taking effects as it travelled across my body to suppress all my Omega instinct. The door was suddenly pushed open behind me. “Didn't expect to be greeted by something this sexy,” a deep voice said and my eyes widened before I quickly threw the syringe into my drawer. I masked my fear with anger as I turned toward the door. “Don't you know how to knock?” “Do I need to knock before entering my own room?” He said as he walked in with aura and dominance emitting from him. He was taller and bigger with a broad chest with a sleeve tattoo on one which was visible because of the black tank top he was putting on. His green eyes stared into my soul, making me freeze on my spot. “Are you going to keep staring at me, Hot stuff?” He raised his eyebrows at me before his eyes scanned me from head to toe as he licked his lips. I cleared my throat and quickly averted my eyes from him. Feeling uncomfortable by the way he was staring at my body, I quickly grabbed my clothes and put them on. “This semester just started and it looks like it's going to be an interesting one.” He chuckled. His scent was so strong and powerful that made me want to cower in front of him. It was obvious he was an Alpha. I controlled myself to keep my head up high as I addressed him. “Since we are going to be roommates for the entire session, I believe an introduction would be proper,” I began. “I'm Elias Thorne, Alpha Heir of the Silverhaven Pack. Freshman.” He smirked. “That's funny.” He stood up and moved closer to me. “I'm Rowan Vale, Son of Alpha Gerald Vale and the second Alpha Heir of Crescent Pack. it's my second year.” Crescent Pack? You have got to be fucking kidding me.ELIAS'S POVThe moment Tyler said Leo’s name, Rowan was already on his feet, yanking the door open so hard it slammed against the wall.“Where is he?” Rowan demanded, his tone sharp and colder than I’d ever heard it.Tyler looked shaken. “Back of the dorm, near the storage sheds. His brothers dragged him there a few minutes ago.”“His brothers?” Rowan furrowed his eyebrows as he clenched his fingers into a fist. “Those pieces of shit.”Rowan didn’t wait another second. He brushed past Tyler and bolted down the hallway. I exchanged a quick glance with Tyler before we both ran after him.By the time we reached the back of the dorms, I could hear laughter and a soft voice whimpering in pain.Leo was on the ground, his clothes rumpled, and his face was red, not from crying, but from trying desperately not to. Standing over him were two tall guys who I concluded they were his brothers. But what I didn't understand was why they were treating their brother that way.One of them shoved Leo ba
ELIAS'S POV“You keep saying you are fine, but it's pretty obvious that you aren't,” Rowan said as he sat at the edge of my bed.I lay upside down, looking up at the ceiling as I tried to imagine my father's disappointed face and Galvin’s mocking look when they found out that I was an Omega. It didn't even help matters that I wasn't just any type of Omega but Apex Omega who are considered enemies to the werewolf society. My father had the highest authority and power among all Alphas. Would he really watch me get killed?‘Your father is a man who cares about his reputation more than anything else,” Carlos reminded me. ‘We can't predict what he would do to protect his precious image.’“Elias, come on.” Rowan shook me. “This is starting to get annoying.”I sighed and sat up. “I told you I'm fine.”“Yes, and fishes fly,” he replied, and I rolled my eyes at him. He brought his hand up to caress the left side of my face as his eyes held so much worry and concern. “You can talk to me, Elias
ELIAS’S POV The bell rang across the academy, signalling everyone to assemble, and within minutes every student was gathered into the Great Assembly Hall. The room buzzed with low conversations, tension crackling in the air like static. No one laughed. No one joked. Everyone could still feel the echo of last night’s attack clinging to their skin. I stood with my pack near the front, my arms crossed as my eyes scanned the hall. Pack leaders, Council members and Guard from the big Six packs were surrounding the hall, watching us with keen eyes. That wasn't normal. My Father, Alpha Killian, stepped onto the raised platform beside the Council Head, his presence alone enough to silence the entire hall. His aura rolled outward, calm, controlled and reassuring. “The situation has been handled,” Alpha Killian announced, his voice steady and authoritative. “There is no immediate threat to the academy.” A ripple of relieved murmurs spread through the hall. But obviously, I didn't buy i
ELIAS’S POVAs our parents were ushered into the conference wing, Jared came over and tapped my shoulder. “We are having a meeting,” he said quietly.I didn’t hesitate. Anything was better than standing around Galvin, pretending his presence didn’t crawl under my skin. I nodded and followed Jared, feeling the tension in my shoulders ease just a fraction with every step away from Galvin. We didn't use the SU meeting room this time, the others were already waiting for me at a corner besides the school building. Some of the students could see us but they were not close enough to hear what we were talking about.Gabriel stood at the center as we formed a semi-circle around me. “Last night wasn’t normal. We all felt it. So the question is. what do we do now?”Liana folded her arms and said in a calm and firm tone. “I say we don’t do anything reckless. Our parents and the Council are handling this. None of our training prepared us for enemies that don’t behave like rogues or pack wolves. J
ELIAS’S POVOf course, I didn’t take his hand. My father might have been so forgiving to let him return, but I was the one who experienced the terrible ordeal, and I wasn't ready to forgive.I stepped back as I glared at him and turned away from Galvin without another word. Whatever apology he thought would erase the memory of his claws around my throat was nothing but arrogance dressed as remorse.“Elias…” he called after me, but I didn't respond. I walked out of the café without looking back. The cool morning air hit my face as I exhaled sharply, trying to steady the storm inside my chest. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin, uneasy and alert. Galvin’s presence alone felt like a reopened wound, one that had never truly healed.I mindlinked Jace and Lucan as I headed out of the school building.‘Where are you guys?’‘On our way to the school front yard,’ Lucan replied almost immediately. ‘Everyone’s gathering there.’‘Okay. I’ll meet you there.’Footsteps followed me, and I did
ELIAS'S POVELEVEN YEARS LATERThe moon had been high that night, casting long shadows across the forest behind the pack estate.I was only ten years old when my mother was still hovering over me and watching every move I made because she was scared that my secret would be exposed. I understood her but I still hated that she took away my freedom. My 18 year old cousin Galvin came to me like a Knight in shiny armor and offered to take me out to see the forest and bring me back without my mother realizing.“Are you sure we won't get caught?” I asked as I jumped down from the highwall of my father's house.“Trust me, I'm an expert in things like this,” Galvin assured me. “Luna will never find out.”I had the best fun of my life exploring the forest and feeling the crunch of leaves beneath my feet. It was later that I realised that we had wandered off farther than we should have.“Galvin, I think we should go back.”“Why are you in a rush little cousin?” He stopped and slowly turned to m
