Selena’s POV

Being mated was amazing!

All my fears and doubts about mating Rain were just washed away, since I could always feel what he felt. And by the goddess, his overwhelming love and dedication for me and our son put all my previous hesitation to shame.

“Would you stop it!” Stella playfully teased, throwing a washcloth in my general direction. I laughed, feeling free now that I could finally bend down without doing some weird-ass squat around a belly I could barely see around.

After all the fighting, the house was slowly returning to its former glory with the wolves working around the clock to get everything ready for the human workers who would return at the end of the week. And because I wanted to be just a little bit useful, I’d offered to help.

I got downvoted!

And here I was thinking I was the Luna…

Shaking my head, I insisted that there had to be something I

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 128: The Worth of a Queen

Rain’s POV“My King?”Sighing, I lifted my head, glaring at the wolf who’d just stepped forward. My wolf wanted to kill him – no surprise there. The beast was getting more and more murderous with every passing day that I stayed, but these freaking negotiations kept dragging out until eternity.Maybe I should just let him kill every single one of them, and then I could go back to--- oh… no, that wasn’t viable in the long run. Then people would just revolt against me, and that would put Selena and Azul in danger and---AH!To think I once actually looked forward to being king…“Yes?” I growled, my voice a little rougher than I intended. The tension in the room was currently below freezing. Deckland had returned from the Dark Moon pack after finding it so entwined in dark magic that it physically made them sick. But finding an expert on black magic was no walk in the park, and thanks to my predecessor, witches weren’t all that trusting of werewolves.Yey – as my mate would say…Additiona

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 127: A Letter from Mom

Selena's POVNo. Way!There had to be some mix-up or--- or something! Because my one sin – the one thing that had hung like a sword over my neck my entire life – was the fact that I was Alistar Throme’s daughter! And if that wasn’t true then---“What?” I exclaimed, but my voice was meek and barely above a whisper. I tried to find something else to say but--- I just didn’t have words. I struggled to make sense of it all but---There was none…My mother couldn’t have lied to me about something like this. She couldn’t have just sat there, watching her mate reject me over and over again, and still let me believe that I was his daughter. Let me believe that the man who had gone out of his way to make me feel little, unloved, and broken was---My mother wouldn’t do that to me!Joey reached out for the document that Stella he

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 125: The Crown Prince

Rain's POVGrowling, I turned to the idiot who spoke and realized it was Hank, another one of my rogue pack. Seeing my response, he almost backed down, but I was not in the mood for “never minds”!“Is your son our Crown Prince?” He asked hesitantly. What a fucking ridiculous question!“Yes!” I snapped, annoyed at the complete unnecessity of the question. “He’s my flesh and blood and your future King!”And even if he wasn’t, any child that came from my mate was mine by association. So fuck any shit that---!“What’s his name?”Not going to lie, the question caught me quite off guard. And after examining his expression, I noticed that there was only genuine curiosity there.Well, fuck me!Were even my men turning civilized?Guess miracles really do still happen...“Azul Marcus King,” I told him, my wolf calmer now that he knew that there was no threat to his s

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 124: Negotiations

Rain’s POVIt became a long day going over pack terminations, new treaties, and hostage negotiations – although those were few and far between. Obviously, Katie’s old pack couldn’t be dissolved since it had enormous financial importance in this kingdom. So, on a whim, I asked my allies who they deemed to be the most suited alpha to lead the pack. Because not only did he need to be strong enough to lead the pack, but they also had to have a strong sense of business.Begrudgingly, Cedric suggested his brother, Cedar Orez.He was an alpha wolf, strong for his age, but he left the pack at a young age. He’d then become a business tycoon in the human world, meaning that he could bring a lot of valuable knowledge and new opportunities to the pack.But---“If he’s so smart,” I asked, resting my cheek on my hand out of boredom, since I guessed that whatever came next would be a pile of

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 123: A King's Ransom

Rain’s POV“My King!”Elijah called out my name, but the second I entered the throne room, everything died down. Every wolf in the room spun to face me, some with relief, some with hate, and some with a mixed expression of “what the hell?!” and “fucking finally!”…Ignoring most of them, I walked straight up to my beta, who looked happy to see me. But hid it behind a mask of professionalism that never ceased to amaze me. Hell, this guy could be talking and teasing until I broke his nose, and then flip a switch to become the most stone-cold professional butler-like golem I’d ever seen…“Where is Alpha Victor?” I asked, hating that the bastard had been spouting on about Selena being my Second Chance Mate. But the bastard had helped me out of a tight spot, so the least I could do was to tell him I owed him one – basically how our relationship worked. I did him a f
