Going out

Maya went to the child, whose name, they still don’t know, she carried him in her arms and kissed his cheek. The child never expected this, his mother would always ignore him and take every chance she could to stay away from him, since for her, he was a nuisance and a waste of space, but now his mother is carrying him and she even kissed his cheek! If this is a dream, he never wants to wake up!

“Let’s go eat, shall we?” Maya said, with a sweet smile; much to the child’s surprise, who got excited and nodded his head, thinking that his dream keeps getting better and better.

While Noah knows that a dream will have to end eventually, he learned it when his mother used to wake him up, every time he gets to the best part of the dream, but for this dream, he doesn't want anyone to wake him up or pull him out of it, because it's the perfect fantasy, he always wished for.

Entering the kitchen, she noticed how empty and dark it is, with is no source of light in the living room or the area surrounding it, the walls are grey or white, bringing a depressing vibe to the house, there is no colorful ness to this place; a not so good environment for a child to grow up in. To make matters worse, the fridge was half empty, with only a few ingredients inside of it, like some eggs, an expired bottle of milk and a carrot.

“We have to go to a convenience store.” Lennon said, from behind her, taking her by surprise and scaring her a bit. "You almost gave me a heart attack." She said, putting her hand on her chest, feeling it beat faster than it should be.

Lennon apologized for scaring her, as Maya dismissed and said. “But we don’t know where it is and we can’t leave him alone.” They both glanced at the boy sitting on the chair, silently, while swaying his legs.

“Should we ask him?” Lennon said, seeing the kid as their only option, both of them didn't know anything about this world and Nova didn't tell them anything either, but the boy has been living here, since his birth basically, so he must know.

“Two grown ups asking a kid for directions? What are we, pedophiles?” Maya didn’t like the idea, it reminded her of those tv shows, where adults disguise as kids, to catch pedophiles who are planning to kidnap or harass their next target.

“Why don’t you come up with a better idea? That Nova thing didn’t give us a map or anything, we don’t even have phones.” Lennon said, but in fact they do have phones, in the drawer in their room, but they didn't know that because their child suddenly came in the room, not giving time to look around and explore.

“Fine.” Maya agreed, with immense unwillingness filling her heart.

“Why are saying it with bitterness?” Lennon asked, with narrowed eyes.

“Because I don’t want to ask a child for something like this, he probably doesn’t know anyway.” Maya gave Lennon a dirty look, then went to talk to the little boy.

It was unexpected, but he knew, so she embarrassedly asked him, to take them to it and he agreed with a huge smile on his face, wanting to spend time with his parents, which usually never happens.

As Maya was about to step out of the house, Lennon stopped her and told her to change; and when she was about to ask why, she looked at her dress, noticing how much it showed her cleavage and legs. She quickly left to change, leaving the father and son duo alone.

“Hey.” Lennon said, in a low voice. He has siblings, he knows a thing or two about children, but he never raised one; it won't be that tough, right? Just feed him and give him love and care, doesn't sound that hard.

“Hello, Mr. Freya.” The child said, with a slight bow.

“You……you can call me dad.” Lennon said, a bit weirded out by the overly respected name and tone.

“But rules?” The child asked, titling his head, a bit confused.

“There are no rules no more, you can call me dad and call her, mama.” Lennon said, pointing at Maya coming down the stairs.

“Papa too?” The child asked, shyly.

“You can call me that if you like it.” Lennon said, breaking in a smile.

“Thank you, papa. Noah is very happy.” He said, kissing his father’s cheek and hugging him tightly. Lennon hugged him back, his arms being too big for his frail body, in that moment, he promised himself, to protect Noah and give him the best life he can get.

Maya stared at them from a distance, hesitating to approach them or let them have their moments, but once she heard Noah’s stomach grumble, she decided that it was time to go; she tapped on Lennon’s shoulder, telling him that she is ready.

Before they got out, Maya handed Lennon a car key’s she found on his night stand, along with a wallet, with too much cash and too many credit cards, making them wonder, if these people are so rich, why weren’t they feeding their own child?

It would have been really helpful if they had some memories, to get some context, to why they are treating their own blood and flesh like a slave, but their heads are empty, with only the memories of their own life, for now.

As they were sitting in the car, Maya had an idea, to go to a café, instead of buying things and making food, because that will take too long.

“What do you think?” Maya asked Lennon, looking at his direction.

“I agree, we are really hungry, right Noah?” Lennon said smiling, glancing at the mirror, trying to get Noah to speak a bit and not stay awfully quiet.

“Yes!” Noah said, excited to eat at such an early hour in the day, because he usually eats at 12 pm then at 9 pm and that's it, but now that changed!

“We are going to most delicious meal for the cutest Noey in the whole world.” Maya said, coming up with a nickname on the spot, as she turned to look at Noah with a cheerful smile.

“Who is Noey?” Noah asked, with a pout, thinking his parents are going to give it to someone other than him.

“You.” Maya said, tickling him and making release a loud giggle, giving them an aww moment and a smile.
