CHAPTER 2

LUCIANA MILANO

The sun stroked in my eye as I turn to switch off my alarm that has been going off for the past 10 minutes. I blocked my eyes with my hand as I jumped off the bed. It was 6am and the sun was almost fully up.

I had an interview today with one of the biggest CEO in the New York. I didn’t expect them to actually look at my cv and get back to me. I was overwhelmed when the receptionist called and said I have an interview at 8am in the next 2 days which was today. Today is one of the biggest days of my life, this job would help me and Olly so much.

I walked to Olly’s room to see her peacefully cuddled in her small bed. She looked like an little angel so carefree. One thing about Olly even thought she’s small for her age, she can understand stuff really well. I see how she looks at new toys at the mall or something she really liked but she never asked me to get them for her, it’s like she understood that we couldn’t afford those luxurious but not once she became a spoilt little brat like those kids you see on television.

I made my way to the bathroom to do my regular routine and then I turned on the shower and stepped into the steaming water. Once I was done with the shower, I wrapped myself up in a towel and I walked to my room to get ready for the interview. It was already 7am so I had only 45 minutes left, I wanted to be there early to show a good impression, like they always say it’s better to be early than late.

I wore a white blouse tucked in a High waist black skirt with my black stockings and my black heels. I applied some light makeup and finished it off with my infamous red lipstick. I let my long hair fall down to my waist as it was pin straight.

I was admiring myself in the mirror when I heard a knock on the door. I walked out of the room and to the front door and opened it seeing Lynn my best friend standing with her mouth opened.

“are you trying to give your boss a hard on?” she asked walking inside the house and I chuckled. “ you are looking extremely beautiful Lu, I’m 100% sure that you will get the job “ she said smiling at me, I hugged her “ thank you so much Lynn”

“Are you ready?” she asked walking to the kitchen and making herself a mug of coffee, I nodded my head and replied “ I think I am, I’m just going to be positive” lynn smiled “ that’s my girl” she said blowing me an air kiss. I caught it and placed it on my heart making both of us laugh.

“okay I have to get going now, I can’t be late otherwise its not going to be a good impression so I will speak to you once the interview is over and thank you so much for looking after Olly, please do not let her sleep till late and when she wakes up please give her some cereal otherwis-“ I got cut off by Lynn “ otherwise she’s going to get moody” she completed and I smiled “ I love you so much L” I said hugging her one last time before heading out of the door.

Vasilios Enterprises wasn’t very far so instead of taking a taxi I walked there and I was amazed when I saw the huge white building infront of me. Jesus this place is huge I thought as I walked pass the security guard that was standing outside the door, he greeted me politely as I smiled at him.

I walked to the reception which wasn’t too far. I greeted the blonde that was seated infront of her desktop sucking on her lollipop.

She looked up and gave me a snarky smile “how may I help you Miss” she said looking at me with grimace.

“hi uh I’m here for my 8am interview” I said smiling.

If I do get the job here I’m sure I won’t be her friend I thought. She looked at her computer and then looked back at “ Luciana Milano? “ she asked and I nodded “ 7th floor that’s where your meeting with Mr Vasilios is taking place” she said and then going back to sucking her lollipop.

I thanked her and walked to elevator, I pressed floor seven and I waited for it to go up. I was becoming more and more nervous the closer I got to the floor. The elevator dinged when it reached the 7th floor and it opened up. I walked to the first door and knocked. Why did I feel so nervous all of a sudden? I heard someone say come in so I opened the door and stepped inside the boss’s office.

I gasped when I saw those same chocolate brown orbs that I had seen 4 years ago. I was still in shock when I heard him clear his throat and I looked up to find him staring at me as his eyes flashed with recognition for a few second and then turned back to normal.

He woke up from his seat and stood I front of me with his one hand inside his Armani suit pockets as he leaned against his table smirking at me.

“Miss Milano, we meet again”
