CHAPTER 22

One second can be a catalyst for a paradigm shift, where the veil of certainty is lifted and we come face to face with the harsh reality that we were mistaken all along.

One second was all it took for me to crumble down when Logan’s words took an intensive U-Turn.

“What the fuck is this?!” The papers in his hand were recklessly torn in half and I felt the calloused edges of the documents on my skin as Logan threw everything to my chest like it was all my fault.

Seeing the fury of her mate not actually directed towards her, Jane rushed towards Logan once again, latching back her arms to his own. The gag rose up in my throat faster than light by how desperate she looks.

Logan’s uproar had me glancing back at him. “You were given the position to do your job properly, Morana. What do all these documents mean?! Are you still rebelling because of the Luna Game?” He rubbed the bridge of his nose as stress slowly ate his reasoning.

I can’t believe this shit.
