Cassana placed all that she needed on a small desk beside the creaking bed: a bowl of crushed garlic, bottle of vinegar, rolls of bandages, a curved needle and spools of thread. If she had a focusing stone right now, she wouldn't need any of these, and she should be able to relieve Rei of all his injuries in no time.
Ashvell stood behind her, ready to assist her in case she needed something. Trev is standing by the door, watching, or maybe studying how Cassana works. The last two times he did this, the rabbit managed to run free with the net, which they found a couple of yards away, without the rabbit. The sound of galloping horses pounded into Minos' ear like war drums on a battlefield. It took him to a place he had been trying to forget, from a time he wished he was never a part of. He looked around and he saw an endless column of mounted warriors, with their lances and shields, charging across a bloodied wasteland. Something tugged on his left arm and as he looked, he found it tightly holding the reins of his war-horse. Something heavy weighed on his right arm and realized it was grasping onto a wooden spear. Panic rose to his throat and he tried pulling on the horse, signaling it to stop, but the mass of war-horses and riders surrounding them pushed further and further forward. The sun did not appear to have moved at all by the time Minos and his company arrived at the mouth of the village. The silent huts and empty streets welcomed them as they passed by. Minos figured most of the village-folk were still busy working in the fields at that hour. One of the huts opened its window, catching his attention and a villager took a peek and waved at Ashvell. The mountainside manor was only about fifteen minutes away from the northern edge of the village. The trail turned narrow and mossy as soon as it diverged from the main path to the top of Mt. Visiga. Otheric helped Cassana climb up the steep stone landings that lead to the main gate. The drow opened it and welcomed the red-head in.
