IX. The Plunderer

Sir Ammir assisted me as I stepped down from the carriage, leading me towards a small church. Unfortunately, the condition of the church left much to be desired. Its walls were in a state of disrepair, and a large hole in the roof suggested that a fire had occurred the previous night. Upon seeing this, my expression turned into a frown as I noticed an elderly gentleman, accompanied by a young boy of about five to seven years old.

"You think your meager assistance will change our minds?" the old man snapped at the two soldiers standing before him. "We won't be swayed from our place!"

I stepped towards them, but Sir Ammir swiftly grabbed my arm to halt me. He cautioned, "It wouldn't be wise for you to get involved, princess."

Perplexed, I furrowed my brow and questioned, "Why not? As the princess of Magenta, I have every right to intervene in the issues faced by my subjects."
