Drake stared at Elaina for the longest of time, his eyes held confusion and irritation. He couldn't… or rather didn't want to believe a word that came out of her mouth. Humans were all the same to him; treacherous, especially the women.

“You should paint a picture, it would last longer” Elaina commented with an eye roll. Since she proposed to help him escape, he had gone quiet and strangely stared at her. She was beginning to think that she was talking to an airhead.

Drake scoffed “You want to help me escape? What a joke! Get out of here if you don't want to join the heap of bones over there”

“Hear me out first. The lead magician wants to get you to mate a female so he can retrieve your essence for whatever sinister thing he is conjuring. Your stubbornness won't last for long if he finds another way, you could even be killed if you are too adamant. But if you can show some progress by pretending to have interest in me, then I could gain their trust enough to find a way out for you”
