Lana

“No fucking way!”

My voice echoed through the boardroom filled with important staff of my father’s company and visitors.

“Be what to whom?” I spat as my eyes widened with shock. “You want me to get married to a man who is our biggest enemy? And what even is a mate?” I asked, confused about what was going on here.

My father, Mark Vale, a billionaire strategist and the architect of my downfall, stared at me like I was minutes away from making him burst out in anger.

Besides him, my stepmother Courtney had a fake smile on her red lips. Her eyes looked like she was satisfied with all that was happening here. She knew. Of course, she knew. That woman would set me on fire if it meant keeping her status and diamonds.

“You haven’t told her yet?” came the voice of Matteo Moretti, standing near the marble desk like he owned the room. “That wasn’t our agreement, Mark.”

Seeing Matteo Moretti in this room made my stomach turn. He wasn’t just the Chairman of Pycon Industries and our biggest enemy. He was also the father of the man who shattered me. I gave Luca my body, loyalty, and everything but he vanished and broke me. It took me a lot to heal from that heartbreak and now they want me to stay with him for a deal?

“It doesn’t matter when I tell her,” my father said flatly, sipping water like this wasn’t a big deal. “What matters is that Lana will marry Luca. The deal is final.”

“If no one tells me what is going on here, I’m walking out that door and this meeting is over,” I said as I stood up abruptly, making the chair scrape the floor.

“And what exactly makes you think you have a say?” Courtney asked as the smile on her face dropped completely. “This is what happens when you spoil her, Mark. You made her CEO, and now she thinks she has a right to act the way she wants.”

“We don’t have time for this,” Matteo muttered, rising from his seat. His men moved with him like shadows. “The Morettis don’t tolerate delays. You know the consequences of backing out now. ”

“Stop!” My father commanded as he shot me a terrifying look I knew too well. My body flinched on instinct. Years of abuse had trained me well. My gaze dropped to the thick file in front of me. The front page stared back at me:

“Joint Merger Contract: Vale X Corporation X Pycon Industries.”

And underneath it, in bold black ink:

Heir Bond Agreement.

My fingers trembled as I whispered, “Wh…what does this mean?”

“It means,” Courtney said sweetly, standing and walking toward me, “you and Luca are to be joined.”

“Joined?” I asked. “What does that even..”

“Married, bound, physically involved,” she said as she tilted her head mockingly. “Since it’s part of the agreement, you’ll spread those legs of yours and satisfy his needs like a good girl.”

Several people shifted uncomfortably, but no one said a word. Not one person looked me in the eye.

I couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re joking. This must be some joke.” But no one laughed with me.

“You’re serious?” I asked as I turned to my father, hoping he would tell me that this was some sort of prank. But my father never played games with me. That light between us died years ago.

“The bond has already begun, Lana,” my father finally said carefully. “There’s no time left.”

“The bond? What does that even mean?” I asked.

Matteo scoffed. “You really didn’t tell her? Did you raise your daughter to be this clueless, Mark?”

“Like I said,” my father began

“I’ll tell her myself,” Matteo snapped as his brown eyes landed on me. “You are my son’s mate. His fated mate. And the bond must be sealed.”

“Fated mate? Bond? What is this, Twilight?” I asked knowing fully well I was crossing a line.

“Watch your mouth,” Matteo growled as he stepped closer to me. “You’ve been getting headaches. You toss at night because you’re restless.”

I paused hearing him talk. How did he know that?

“That’s your body reacting to the bond. To my son,” Matteo added.

“This is insane,” I whispered. “I’m not signing anything. I’m not agreeing to this.”

“Lana. Enough!” my father barked.

“No! I deserve answers! Is this magic? Drugs?”

“You want the truth?” Matteo asked as his eyes glowed and fangs pushed past his lips. He was anything but human. I stumbled back.

“Am I the only one seeing this?!” I gasped, searching the faces around me. But no one moved and it felt like I was the only one losing my mind.

“It’s complicated,” my father muttered. “But yes. Werewolves exist. And you are Luca’s fated mate.”

There was no way this was happening. My ex is a werewolf and I slept with him?

“Your biological mother comes from an ancient bloodline called the Drakara bloodline.” Courtney sighed like she was telling a boring story. “That must be why the bond chose you and honestly, I pity Luca. You’re not exactly his ideal mate but you’ll do. This is a great deal for us anyway.”

“No….no, I don’t want this,” I stammered. My hands were sweating and my mouth was dry.

“I’m not doing this and I don’t care if this company burns to ash.” I protested.

Courtney's smile disappeared. “Oh, you will want this. Because we need this deal and you don’t get to fuck this up for us.”

Of course, what was I expecting from a gold digger like her?

“And if you try to run…” My father stood slowly, eyes burning into mine. “If you avoid your mate for too long, the bond will turn on you. It will consume you from the inside out until it kills you.”

“Kill me?”

“Yes, Lana. You’ll die if you run away from your mate and fight the bond.”

Chapter 72 Lana The call between Luca and I ended and I held the phone tightly wishing he was here already. I know Arya told me not to come outside but I was getting really worried because they were having a really heated argument. I wasn’t expecting Adrian stones to ever come here let alone be the person I was expecting. The moment I got pulled into that forest, were those voices trying to tell me that Adrian was the one coming? That would only make sense because before he got here, I felt restless and out of mind but the moment he got here, I have been at peace and I haven’t been overthinking anything, but why Adrian? Staying here wasn’t going to do anything for me, I needed to go outside to understand things for myself. It was about time everyone stopped making me stay indoors all in the name of trying to keep me safe. If there was some sort of trouble, I’d rather we face it all together instead of keeping me away like some egg. I left my room, and walked throu

Chapter 71 Luca When I looked down on the table, her blood that was scattered across the sheet joined together to form one bead and then it moved to a certain point on the map and that was Italy. “Well isn’t that convenient, the fucker is here in Italy so we don’t have to go far to find him,” Klin stated in my head. “The blood just moved, he’s in the south,” Miranda said, studying the map. “So he’s in the same state as us ? I didn’t think he would be so close..” Alaric said but the blood moved again, and Miranda’s face squeezed up. I checked my phone to see if there was anything new from home since Miranda was done chanting and when I thought I would find Tina’s missed calls but I found over fifty missed calls all from Arya and Lana. My phone was put on “do not disturb” for hours and I was so mad at myself for not checking on my phone earlier, why would Lana and Arya call me so many times. Alaric saw the look on my face and he pulled out his phone too. “I received calls fro

Luca I may not be a witch, but I know damn well that using dark magic demands something in return which is witch’s blood, or some kind of exchange. It’s a little surprising that Miranda’s willing to go this far for us, but if Lana’s life is in danger, I don’t care what it takes. She’s all that matters to me right now. Alaric’s eyes scanned the ancient walls of the hallway as we walked. The place looked extremely old judging from mold crawling up the stones and the odd smell. Apparently, the coffee shop had a hidden door leading straight into Miranda’s shrine or whatever witches call their ritual space. I wasn’t even surprised. Most witches who ran public businesses had a secret space tucked away somewhere. They were always sneaky like that, which was one of the many reasons I never trusted them. “We’re here,” Miranda said. “Take off your shoes before you enter.” She opened a massive wooden door carved with serpents slithering along the surface and their eyes glowed red under t

Lana Nothing could have prepared me for how insane today’s training with Arya would be like. We weren’t inside the training hall anymore because Arya had dragged me out into the open field, and I was running barefoot across the grass, running for my life. She was literally trying to kill me. Arya, in her wolf form, was chasing me through the open field, growling behind me. According to her, this was “speed training.” But according to me, it was attempted murder. My bare feet pounded against the soft damp dirt as I ran as fast as I could. Somehow, I was faster than I’d ever been..faster than her even, which shouldn’t have been possible. It was like the fear of being caught by her had unlocked something deep inside me that I didn’t know existed. “I don’t think I can keep running!” I yelled without daring to look back. If I slowed down for even a second, she’d catch me. It was Arya, so technically I shouldn’t have been scared but the training side of Arya was a monster. She wasn

Luca “So, I take it that you do know who they are?” I asked, watching her clear her throat, visibly uneasy with the direction of our conversation. “Your future Luna should have learned to control the Crystal’s power by now. What do you need the sages for?” “My mate is struggling to control her powers,” I said, keeping my tone firm. “She keeps blacking out, and the Crystal feeds on her anger. She needs someone who can help her contain it, that’s why I need to find them.” “Is there a reason we can’t know their true identity?” Alaric asked the same damn thought that had been running through my mind. Nothing about what Miranda said made any sense. “I’d love to help, especially since you’re offering to pay me well,” she said slowly, “but I can’t… because I don’t know who they are either.” I studied her face carefully, searching for any hint of a lie but she wasn’t lying. “You’re one of the best witches out there, Miranda. It’s disappointing to hear you say you don’t have any infor

Luca She looked exhausted, judging from her dull eyes and heavy shoulders. I wanted nothing more than for her to take the day off, skip training, and have a good rest, but I couldn’t do anything because she had to grow stronger. Getting more powerful was the only way the rest of the pack would respect her, and the only way she’d gain more control over the crystal. She was far stronger than she realized, and as much as I wanted to shield her and stop anyone from brushing even a single strand of her hair, I couldn’t. Doing that would only make her weaker, and that would only put her in more danger. “Do you think she’s still angry?” I asked Klin, surprising even myself. I never asked for his opinion on things like this, but the truth was, I was worried. Maybe I messed with her real feelings. “I would be angry with you if I were her,” Klin said bluntly in my head. “So yes, she’s still angry. You disregarded her feelings, and we both know it’s not just because you suspect the mat
