Killian quickly mind-linked Beta Ryder to get information about the Peach Mistress; he believed she had answers to many of his burning questions.

“Lucas has told me everything that happened to you,” Killian said and Hailey became tensed. She didn't like to be reminded that she caused the accident that claimed her father's life, the one that left them scarred in the heart.

“I …” she tried to say something but there was really nothing to say. Hailey was always blank, it was as though her mind had no thinking and little processing ability.

If anything, she hoped the king would see her for the monster that she is and he'd leave her alone, let her rot and die of her struggles and pains.

“D … Do you … n-now … see why you shouldn't think me your mate?” Hailey stuttered, pressing her nails together and biting her lower lip.
