MasukLeah's pov
I sat at the breakfast table lacking an appetite. "Leah are you okay, don't you like the food?" My mom asked with a concerned look.
My mom who was the town sheriff, Detective Riley Smith had an eye as sharp as an eagle she'd spot discomfort almost immediately.
"No I..." I thought for a moment, could I ask her? Should I tell her what's going on?
Would she understand?
"Just school...it's exhausting." I lied through my teeth.
As she wanted to probe the news caught our attention "A young man was found dead in his truck early in the morning today...this would be the first murder case in almost fifty years of Banewood Town, it comes as a shock-"
"Ugh, damn it I said no reporters on the scene." My mom stood up and left the table in anger. I didn't know if it was because she was annoyed at the scene or because my dad popped up on the screen.
Doctor Elden Smith, divorced my mother five years ago...I will never forgive him.
I sighed my lack of appetite over taking my will to eat, I stood up, tossed some of the items in my backpack and left the house.
"That truck is in horrible condition, I'll get you a new car soon, meanwhile drop your siblings off will you." My mom said half on the phone, half talking to me.
I rolled my eyes as they entered the truck "Sooo we are in your truck again." Stephanie teased and I shot her a look.
"Put on your seatbelt and better act mute or you'll walk to school." I said with a look that dared her to dare me.
She didn't, thankfully, instead she put on headphones like my brother and got busy on her phone.
My mind was scrambling with thoughts as I drove, what was that reflection...what are these dreams...am I the only one going through this?
Should I meet up with the bookclub again?
I was stuck with the same questions with no answers.
Something suddenly jumped into the road and I screamed as I crashed headfirst into it.
My heart was beating rapidly in my chest, my siblings were so engulfed in whatever they were doing they didn't even flinch as I stopped the truck and got out.
"Oh my God are you okay?" One moment someone was lying on the road completely dead before my truck the next minute they were gone.
In the blink of an eye, if I didn't see the blood on the road I would have thought I imagined it.
It freaked me out so much I caught goosebumps, was it an illusion ?
I could have sworn I just saw someone dead before my truck and yet I stood there staring at an empty road with a smear of fresh blood.
This was getting creepier by the second, I quickly got into the truck taking a deep breath "Hey ? is something wrong? " Josh asked, Stephanie was still engulfed with her phone.
"Yeah, everything is great." I said unsteadily.
As soon as I got to school, I headed to the restroom to wash my face. As soon as I got into the bathroom, I saw him.
He was bleeding and bile filled my throat making me throw up in the sink.
I quickly splashed water on my face then looked at him in disbelief "What happened to you?" I tried to go to him but he lifted his hand.
"Stay away from..." he was breathing heavily. "Why do you keep haunting me?"
I frowned in confusion. "I could say the same about you...I keep seeing you."
Our gazes locked and my heart leaped into my throat "I feel like I know you...my body reacts strangely when I'm around you..."
"Stop..." he said in a strangled breath as I watched in fascination all that was happening before my eyes.
"Wh-what is happening to your wounds?" I stuttered, gathering courage. I walked up to him even as he scrambled back against the wall.
I grabbed hold of his shirt on impulse and undid the buttons in haste to understand what on earth I was seeing happen before my very eyes. "Your wounds...they are healing."
His eyes were a bright gold with blue edges as its pupil, he pushed me off him and I fell on my ass. "First you scratch my car, Second you invade my thoughts, my mind and now you try to take my body too!"
The audible scoff I uttered made him frown as I stood up "Stop stalling and answer me...what are you?"
He stood up like he felt no pain, I watched as he stretched his muscles. His wounds were all healed and his face had a very inhumane appearance.
"Answer me!" I demanded, panic rising in the pit of my stomach with every dangerous move he made.
My eyes searched for a weapon as he took one step forward, all I did was blink and my back collided against the wall.
Trapped between his hard bloody body and the hardness of the wall, my lungs could no longer take in sufficient amounts of air.
My brain couldn't process the words he was saying to me as he whispered in my ear, the heat of his breath warmed my cheek and I broke into a sweat.
I clenched my fists from holding on to him as my knees weakened from both fear and excitement. "The problem is that we werewolves don't have the gift to make you forget but I do have one charm, I stole it from a bloody witch."
His lips trailed my neck and I shivered in response, like my body had found its owner.
It had hungered for so long, his lips felt familiar to the dream I had, my body arched into him in response.
My eyes became heavy, he was doing something to me. I could not explain. My body was shutting down, he was still saying things to me yet I could not make out the words.
"What are you doing to me?" I moaned as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I should be the one asking this question." His groan was the last thing I remember.
"Sleeping in my class? That's detention, Miss Smith." The sound of Mr Alberta's unamused voice stirred me.
Chills went down my spine as I sat up with no comprehension of how I got there.
Everyone was whispering in the class Tucker did not look pleased.
Well obviously I just got detention when we legit have a date tonight.
I sighed as I sat up rubbing my palm against my forehead.
The memories of what just happened are still very clear in my brain.
Was he aware that whatever spell he cast on me didn't work?
I thought to myself as the bell rang ending the school day.
As I gathered my things to leave, the most popular girl in school suddenly stood in front of me.
Madison Gardener actually hated me with an affinity I could not describe.
To her I was a thorn in her flesh, ever since I was voted prettiest girl in school in freaking middle school over her.
Yeah, I have been avoiding her since forever and I was not about to get involved with her.
"Leah Smith, long time." She said, flipping her thick perfect brown hair over her shoulder.
Her piercing green eyes held motive and determination I was not interested in, as the mayor's daughter she thought she had the whole world at her beck and call.
I gave her an acidic smile "Madison are you lost?" I asked not hiding the disdain I felt for her at all.
"Do you really not know how you got to class? Are you pretending?" she asked, her arms folded fuming like a little girl in third grade.
Arching my brow, I picked up my backpack "Nope, something special about it enough to grab your attention."
"Freaking Reuben Dark carried you to class in his arms." She snapped in annoyance and I flinched.
"So?" I really wanted to escape her annoying probing, and her choking perfume. I was sensitive to certain smells, it could trigger my asthma.
"So! Do you know who he is?" She asked her jaw slack, I shielded my nose with my elbow stepping away.
I shook my head with an irritated expression "I don't know and I don't care, honestly do not involve me with anything that has to do with him." I warned her seriously.
She eyed me, sniffing herself involuntarily.
After what I saw in the toilet, I could tell he was very dangerous and it was not advisable for me to be tangled up with him.
A warm arm circled my waist as Tucker's familiar smell filled my nostrils "Leave her alone Madison." he said possessively.
"Tucker." She said breathlessly, well he was her ex so it wasn't anything new.
"Let's go." he said softly, leading me past Madison who grabbed his arm.
Madison bared her teeth "Are you serious? we just broke up then of all people you go for her?"
The anger in her voice actually pisses me off every second she opens her mouth further. "You can't be with anyone else but me Tucker." she snapped then walked past us, stepping on me intentionally with her high heels as she left the classroom.
"Oh my God are you okay?" he asked and I shifted slightly away from him.
"I thought you were done with Madison?" I asked, feeling nauseous again.
He looked very apologetic. "I am. She is just in over her head thinking we are still together."
I stepped back as he stepped closer "Look I'm good sort out whatever it is with her before our date."
"Leah." he pleaded.
"It's cool, just make things clear with her before our date." I said sternly, limping out of the classroom.
"Leah!" he called out to me but I didn't turn back.
Chapter 2Stephanie's POVIt happened again.I have no memory of what happened last night. I was lost in thought as my dad parked in front of the new school.Wolf High School... What an odd name, I thought to myself as I sluggishly got out of the car."Hey, kiddo?" I turned to look at my dad."Have fun, make new friends, be normal?..."I gritted my teeth. Yeah, that's what you tell your kids on the first day at a new school they never wanted to go to in the first place.I just glared at him."Please, Steph, I don't need to be called in, okay? Just try not to get into any fights."I flashed him a lazy grin. "Since you said please, I'll try."He chuckled. "That's the spirit."Stepping into this school was different. Everyone here seemed to be minding their business, like they couldn't give two shits about a new transfer student, thankfully. That helped me feel normal, better, as I made my way to my locker. My phone buzzed, along with the students suddenly whispering frantically.I read t
CStephanie's POV"You don't have to change my life just because it suits you. What are you running away from? What are you so scared of?" I yelled at him in anger at the news that he changed my school without asking me."Does my opinion not matter?" The painful lump in my throat hurt. "Just because I live in your house, do you not consider me human with emotions and a life, not an object you can decide what to do with?"I turned, running up the stairs."Stephanie! It's for your own good.""I can't wait to leave your house!" I barked and slammed the door behind me hard. Our life changed ever since we moved, ever since my mother went missing... Not just that, it's like she never existed. But if my mother never existed, how can I?And yet, there's no record of her. The police, the authorities—no one remembered my mother except us.Ever since I started suffering memory loss, so much that I could not remember them so clearly anymore—my mother, my sister. I was sure I had a sister too. My f
Leah's POV:I sat at the feast table, surrounded by, well, I don't know... enemies, fake allies, or once-friends.They all ate and drank, celebrating the pups I bled for.The pups they tried to kill. The pups they didn't want.It was ridiculous. I was still bleeding. My father, the doctor, said before he left that I was supposed to be dead.My blood saved me.It hurt like a bitch. But I sat at the table anyways."Let's make a toast to our beloved Luna. It is a great thing to celebrate the birth of the alpha's heir."I didn't drink as they all gulped theirs.A feast in the presence of my enemies. How convenient."I have an announcement."The hall went silent, as this was the first time I had spoken."I want to thank you all for your hospitality. It is a great honor to be crowned your Luna... but I have to go."Reuben's smile dropped. He shook his head as if to warn me.The silence was louder now."I must save my family.""You cannot leave the pack. Anyone who leaves is considered a trai
Leah's pov:I gasped awake like a fish out of water, coughing out blood. Beside me my father stood looking at me in shock forceps in his hand. Reuben had tears in his eyes and Cain's face and eyes were so red swollen like he had cried for so long."You are alive." Micheal and the nurse all said in awe. "It's her blood." Cain looked perplexed."Where are my children?" I asked, feeling something was wrong and did not hear them crying. Reuben looked at me like he had committed a grave crime "Leah!...""Where are my children!" "Reuben ordered them thrown out to sea." the nurse said and before she finished I was on my feet. "Leah..."I slapped him "Damn you! where are they?" I didn't wait for him to answer, I ran out of the room and my body didn't feel any pain. They must have given me anesthesia. How I was even using my legs or my senses were intact I could not explain. All I needed right now were the children I had fought so hard to save. What I imagined as them eating me up and
Leah's pov: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" I cried out in pain, the contractions were becoming stronger. Reuben brought a bowl of ice and ointment. While a nurse gave me a shot of tetanus injection.Immediately, after the ceremony I began to feel intense pain not only in my legs but in my stomach."I told you not to touch me !" I screamed at him and my nails scratched his face."Stay still Leah." he growled at me catching my hand and pinning it against the headboard, placing a pack of ice under my swollen feet as the nurses used forceps to remove the chunks of glass, nails and coal that had pierced my feet, I hissed shutting my eyes in pain."I hate you, goddamn it I hate you." tears bit into my eyes."I know" he held my hand. "It was the only quick way to get them to accept you and crown you. If not, our children would be...""Illegitimate..." venom laced my voice "I never asked to be accepted by your people, I never knew this was what you wanted." He shook his head "Look at me, I know you hat
Leah's pov:They pulled Mark in chains battered and covered in blood.I had heard his screams all night.Although in this realm it was always night, what differentiated night and day was the color of the moon. There was a pale moon in a dim lit sky instead of the sun. And I wondered, if I lived here would I never see the sun again.A maid brushed my hair even though I had blatantly refused to be waited on."I don't need a maid.""Yes you do, you are no longer a commoner from a lowly human realm high school, you are to be crowned Luna of the pack." Lowly human realm?Reuben made it clear that I was no longer normal, or to be more precise I no longer have rights to privacy or to refuse what I don't want in their realm in exchange for a fancy crown. In exchange for power, I've always wanted to be stronger, to not be the weak girl who couldn't save her family.I should consider this an opportunity and stop sulking, but I felt really homesick. So I used my two fingers and pulled my lips
Daily life of a boring human named Leah Smith. In this life there are no vampires, no werewolves, no witches, no trolls.Well except my chemistry teacher Albert tried to bore me to death with his antics, I was not looking forward to that this year. I was finally eighteen now, I guess it was time t
Leah's PovI sat in the classroom with my note book in front of me, the silence was unnerving.Almost everyone was already outside the school premises trick-a-treating. I could hear voices in the walls of the classroom whispering in my ears.Mr Alberta was watching me like a hawk, how on earth was
Alpha Reuben's POV When I decided to return back to banewood I didn't expect my brand new car to get scratched literally on my arrival.I nearly snapped the neck of the mortal that dared to cross me, but for some reason after stepping out of my car her physical resemblance to the woman from the pr
The feeling of his alpha hood pulsated deep inside my flesh. Veins as rough as his face, his hand wrapped around my neck. My legs spread apart as my belly touched the wet forest grass. He didn't know my name. His alpha hood filled me like it owned me, pulsating till I could barely breathe as he
