Evelyn POV.

“That is why I miss my jewel, Evren.” my father's voice oozed with mockery, dragging the words like a poison on his tongue.

“She would have got this simple job done at the quickest possible time. But that one, don't let me go there.” my father scoffed.

“She would be thinking she is condescending and nothing royal lineage had that she had not gotten…” he scoffed.

Elder Cedric nodded his head and pouted his mouth like a baby.

My father turned to me and his eyes turned beet red like hot coal, “If not, What business do I want to have with this worthless thing? I would have left her in that cesspool called Amazon pack or whatever.”

I crawled on my knees to the point he stood, my knees bruising against the cold marble tiles. My cold palm pressed to the hem of his trouser. “Father, please give me one more chance…”

“One more chance?” my father sneered.

“I hate it when people don't get a simple job like this done.”
