CHAPTER 42

IVY POV

" Come on Freya. We need to get the hell out of here." I say grabbing her hand and we walked to the door and I turned the handle and peeked out into the hall. There was no one to be seen, so we walked into the hallway and I knew that we were still on the second floor.

I could smell smoke. And a lot of it. So I went to the side window and I could see fires in the woods that I know Asher set as a distraction to get through the boarder and I smiled at that. But then I looked down and I saw Asher leading his pack of thousands onto the field around the house and they were met with just as many warriors and they all collided with a massive thud and a lot of snarling and fighting.

Freya gripped my hand tighter at the noise. She was scared so I turned away from the window and we started walking down the hallway again, being really careful about being quiet.

When we came to the staircase I poked my head around first and I didn't see anyone there so we slowly walked down the stai
