Chapter sixty-four

The man was older and very plain-looking, with slightly thick eyebrows. Dressed in old jeans that sat snug on his hips and an old shirt, he looked like a police man that wasn’t on duty.

Roy was sitting very close to them but shielded by potted plants so they couldn’t see him. he liked it, choosing to remain hidden.

Why was Liam with this older man?

Leaning over to get a sharper hearing of their words, Roy brought up a magazine he saw on the table and covered his face.

“Are you telling me Charlie Jordan and Anne Jordan didn’t just abandon their child at the orphanage?” he heard Liam’s voice whisper harshly to the man.

“I already told you that those aren’t your brother’s parents’ real names.” the man replied, snapping his fingers to call the attention of a server, “Black coffee please.”

Roy felt like his head was swimming. Liam was investigating his parents…without telling him? No wonder he was always on his phone and secretive for the past few months.
