CHAPTER 22

Drake sat at the living room with his daughter, warning them to be of good behavior when Emma arrives, and should refrain from creating a scene. When he heard the front door slammed shut, he left, heading to the living room to check if it was Emma.

Once Emma saw him, she began to apologize profusely, and explained that she lost track of time. Drake shushed her by kissing her gently on the lips, and then he gave her a hug.

“It’s fine baby,” he said, “at least you are here now. And please let’s try to be patient with my girls, they are still mad about their mother though."

“Mad about their mother? Why should they be?” She asked, confused.

“They think that I’m betraying their mother by being with you,” he explained. “They feel like I never loved her if I’m thinking of being with someone else.’’

“That’s utter bullshit and you know it, I mean she has been gone for more than two years now,’’ she whisper yelled. “They don’t just expect you to be alone till you die, do they?”
