Chapter 43: The Invitations

Margret could no longer contain her rage, her entire body shaking with fury at her father's question. "Dad, please!" she whimpered, tears streaming down her face.

Despising her emotional plea, Mr Owen continued his interrogation. "They are your children with Mr Jones, why won't you let him meet them? Margret, do you understand what you are doing? You are denying your kids the right to know their father."

Caleb's hands tightened into fists as Margret's voice rose. "Dad, stop this now. Leave, just leave!" she demanded.

Mr Owen scoffed. "Why are you so mad? I'm only looking out for my grandchildren."

The anger in Margret's voice was undeniable. "I wish you had never been my father," she yelled. "Now, get out of my house or I'll call the police and the estate security team!"

Mr Owen huffed, turning his back and striding away haughtily.

Caleb rushed to his mother, his face etched with worry. "Mom, are you ok?" he asked tentatively. Margret smiled weakly, her eyes still filled with tears. C
