Aria’s words lingered in the silence.

Lucien raised his head up and met her gaze. He arched his eyebrows at her,

Aria swallowed and repeated herself, “There is something I need to tell you… It’s something your brother said to me.”

Lucien’s brow furrowed when he heard what she said, “How did you meet my brother?” his tone wasn’t angry, just curious,

The atmosphere in the cottage shifted; the warmth of breakfast and the heat coming from the now rekindled hearth was no longer enough to warm the coldness in the room.

Lucien did not continue speaking, he just arched his brows at her and waited for her to continue speaking.

Aria blinked, “While I was cleaning one of the wings yesterday, I received a visit from a man who was heavily scarred in his face.”

Lucien’s brow barely twitched, the movement so tiny that it would not have been seen by a less alert eye. Aria caught it.

She was sure that Lucien already had an idea about who she was talking about.

She coughed and continued, “Well

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   DEATH AND ARROGANCE

Damien’s POV: Damien was furious,His entire day was going hurriedly, and he needed an outlet for his anger. It wasn’t just the fact that he had to walk across the clawhold, all the way over to the market square was a travesty in and of itself. He was a Faen, and a Faen should never have had to mingle with gamma wolves. He was better than that, no, he was better than them. He should never even have to breathe the same air as all these wolves, yet, here he was, mingling around while humans walked close to him.The only reason he was even here was because his father, the elder, had forced him to buy a gift for his upcoming mating ceremony. And he hated every single moment of it. Also, another reason why he was so pissed off, was because he also hated his bride. His lips curled into a smirk as he walked past a butcher’s shop. He spat onto the snow, making sure it was loud enough to reach the ears of the butcher. The thick scent of blood that filled the air made him scrunch his nose in d

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   FURY

Aria blinked. Before the sound of the commotion reached her, she had already noticed the change in the weave. Around her, thin strands snapped and reconnected – all right before the crash. Her eyes were already following the strands so she saw what happened faster than Lucien did.The large man – a beta wolf judging from the size of his lycan form – had felt a hand scrape through his coat and, without stopping to think or to even check if he had been stolen from, the man had lost it.As she watched all this happen, her pulse spiked and in moments, she was already stomping towards the scene of the crime.Aria still remembered the days and nights she spent, tucked away, all alone as her bruises bled from the abuse she suffered. If there was one thing she hated seeing more than anything, it was anyone abusing the power they thought they had. And this man? He wasn’t just abusing it, he was flaunting it right in the middle of the pack, her pack.Behind her, Lucien blinked, his brows furrow

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   A KISS AND A CRASH

Lucien’s POV:Lucien’s gaze followed Orion’s sulking figure as the old alpha stumped out of the throne room. Orion’s face might have been emotionless, but Lucien could tell he was furious. Not just by the way the doors shut hard behind him, but by how fast he actually moved. But unlike what anyone else in his position would feel, Lucien honestly didn’t care. The man wasn’t worth his time, especially not when he could feel the disdain and rage he had for his mate. With that thought, he turned towards Aria, and he could not resist the urge to smile as he watched her flawless composure. She handled herself like the luna she was. Even though he could tell that she was worried, her face was as smooth as polished stone. If he didn’t know her, he might have thought that she wasn’t affected by what had just happened. But he did, and she was. He could clearly tell by the way her fingers kept twitching on the armrest of her white oak throne, and also the way her grip on his hand grew tighter.T

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   THE COUNCIL

Orion’s POV: The silence in the courtyard was thick and entirely suffocating. It stayed that way for a couple of minutes as everyone tried to process what they had just heard.Until it cracked,One of the lieutenants, Fae, could no longer keep silent. He took a deep breath, gathered his courage and did something he usually never did, but this wasn’t a usual time, nor was contacting the council a usual occurrence.“T-The council?” Try as he could, he still wasn’t able to stop his words from coming out in a stutter, his voice itself carried both awe and fear at the mention of that name. But no one laughed at his stutter. In fact, the silence itself grew more solemn. The lieutenant beside him also muttered the name under his breath, but his voice was lower, as if the word was too dangerous to even say out loud. And in another clawhold, it definitely was.Around them, the stone walls seemed to lean away, as if the castle itself was shying away from the conversation. The council.Perhaps,

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   HIS PLAN FOR REVENGE

Orion’s POV: The rage within him threatened to explode as Orion, alpha of the Thorne clawhold stormed out of the throne room. Each step he took out into the corridors echoed out into the world. His pride billowed outward like a forest fire, a fire which could not be quenched.Never in all his years on this planet, has anyone, not even an alpha, disrespected him like that – let alone, his own forgotten daughter – a daughter who thought it wise to dismiss him in such an arrogant manner. As he moved down the corridor, his daughter Lyra spotted him and her face lit up in surprise. Without pausing to consider his mood, she rushed up to him and hurriedly spoke up with barely concealed rage, “Father, did you put her in -”“Enough,” Orion snapped. He stopped, letting his muscles relax as he turned around and locked gazes with her, “Let me think.”Then, he brushed her off with a dismissive wave of his finger, he nodded at his mate to follow him, and he began his journey towards the east court

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   PUTTING HIM IN HIS PLACE

“We need to speak alone.” Those words echoed across the vast chambers of the throne room, and Aria froze. She blinked, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She was amused, not only by her father’s pride, but by his arrogance.Of all the things she had expected the man who had abandoned her to say, it definitely wasn’t that. The fact that he felt that he even had the right to demand a private meeting with her directly told her how he felt about his actions over the years.A soft chuckle slipped past her lips at the absurdity of his statement before she reigned her emotions in.“Definitely not,” she shook her head as a frown formed on her face. Her tone was eerily calm, but laced with steel and rage. “There is absolutely nothing I have to say to you that needs to be said in private. You are in my pack now, Orion, whatever you need to say, you can say it here".Orion flinched as his name rolled off his daughter’s lips with disdain. Her words struck across the face like a slap. For
