Daisy woke up that morning feeling excited and more relaxed than she was the previous day. She had the feeling that she was going to get this job and she has never felt this way before.
She had to remind herself that she was only going to submit her job application letter and get information on when she would return for the interview, so she doesn't get disappointed if something bad happens, though she doesn't pray for that to. Stacy on the other hand left quite earlier than Daisy, as that was what her job warranted her to do daily. She wished her friend a successful job application and promised to give her a treat if she eventually gets the job as a means to support her. At exactly 8 o'clock that Wednesday morning, Daisy took her bag with her file containing all the necessary documents and dashed out of the house to start her day with another job hunt. The company was about twenty minutes drive from her house, so she waited to get a good can that she could use. ** ** Daisy stood in front of the company and stared at it for over five minutes. This was her first time coming to this place as she had never had any reason to, even though her friend worked there. It was magnificent and very beautiful. She noticed a lot of people comment about it's beauty as they walked past. She started visualizing herself on her desk in her office as the secretary of the CEO of this magnificent company. She made up her mind immediately that she was going to do everything she could in her own power to get this contract the second time. She would make sure her stay here becomes a memorable one. She walked gallantly past the door to the first receptionist she saw when she walked in. "Hello, good morning pretty lady." Daisy said amicably. The lady smiled adoringly at Daisy. "Good morning ma'am. How may I help you today? She asked, smiling calmly. "Please, I need a right direction to a place I need to be right now."The lady nodded prompting her to continue with her explanation. "Okay. Uhm, I'm here for a job application, but I need the right information on where I should submit the necessary documents." Daisy explained confidently. "Oh, a job application. Well, I can't give you the exact description, because we have different sections of jobs here and you can't submit your application on the same place. So, what position are you applying for? The young lady asked. Daisy hesitated for few seconds before answering. "Uhm, the position of a secretary." She answered lightly. "The position of a secretary." The lady replied, typing something on her laptop. "Okay, to whom exactly, do you have an idea? Oh you want to apply for any secretary position available? "The secretary to the CEO." Daisy answered calmly. The lady stared intently at Daisy and for a moment didn't say a word to her. Finally, she spoke up, rather in a whisper like note. "This job you want to apply for? Did you ask questions very well before you came here? Hope you are aware of what you are going for exactly? She asked like she was feeling pity on her.Daisy nodded. "Yes, I asked questions properly and I know exactly who I am likely to work for, that's if I get the job." The lady shrugged and gave Daisy direction on where to go after using the elevator on the right hand side of where she was standing. She thanked the receptionist profusely and went ahead to continue her journey to the place where she would submit her job application. Within few minutes, she stepped out of the elevator and looked around for a while. She noticed that everywhere was quite lovely. It was still early, so she thought. Perhaps, they were yet to resume work for the day. She smiled as she envisioned herself as one of the staff she saw as she walked to the place she was asked to go to. She saw some workers chatting happily on their table as she walked past. She was taking note of every single actions she came across. This was the toppest floor, where the CEO worked, so she became quite confused as to why Stacy said he was a sadist, if his close workers could be as free as this. That is except if he, the CEO wasn't in office at the time, or he became less a sadist and decided to embrace happiness. Stacy said that was the last thing that would ever happen though, but she, Daisy felt it's possible. Daisy walked to the table of a guy which matched the description the receptionist gave her and called to his attention. "Good morning sir." She greeted formally, making sure the smile on her face looked real. The guy looked up from his computer and stared at the lady in front of him. It was a strange face, so he went ahead to ask. "Good morning. Please, call me Mark, no need for the formality. So, please, how may I be of service to you, this beautiful morning? "Oh, noted. I came to submit my application for the position of the secretary to the CEO. I was informed that this was the right place for submission." Daisy answered. "Yeah, yeah. You're at the right place. You are the first person to apply for this new job offer. I guess you had an insider information." The guy said staring at her. "I guess you can say that. Well, I have all my documents ready. Can I submit them now? "Yeah, you can. Let me have them? He announced.Daisy took the file and handed it over to the guy opposite her. The guy collected the file from her and took out documents from it. He scanned everyone of it, before finally handling it over to Daisy. "You'll get a mail from us soon. So, please, get ready for your physical interview in two days time." He said, smiling. I thanked him and arranged my documents properly, before trying to put them in my file.Just then, I noticed an extremely odd silence envelope the place. It was something that I didn't quite understand at first. The chattering had stopped, the gist had stopped and when I turned, I saw everyone quiet and working on their tables. I waved it off. I looked up again when I heard a mild footsteps approach. Then, I saw the mysterious man who I might have to start working with. He was far handsome than I expected, though he had this coldness on his face, but he was quite attractive for a man. He walked passed us and stopped, then turned to Mark. "Mark, are you busy? "Yes sir." Mark answered in a jitter, even though he tried to comport himself. "What are you doing? The CEO asked in that thick voice of his. "I'm working on a job application sir. It's about the secretary position." "The secretary position? Good. Bring her to my office right now." He said and walked out, with a guy following behind him. I felt this cold aura around me and fear gripped me. That was the first time I felt the urge to turn around and forget about the application. But, it was too late. Mark walked me to his office and waited for me to be called in. My heart jumped when I heard that tough voice ask Mark to bring me in.The house shone with liveliness after the Omorhs moved in. Furnitures being arranged, the interior decorators moving here and there to make sure everything was placed properly, just where their client wanted. The truck carrying some of the new purchased properties arrived with their agents to help offload them. Everywhere seemed busy and quite rowdy, till about a few hours later, towards the evening. Mrs. Rachel made sure to supervise each work and confirmed every successful task done before paying the balance of the agreed payment. In no time, the house became quiet when the agents and other workers left, leaving Mrs. Rachel with her sons, Maxwell, Daniel and Jacob. They returned from their apartment the previous day to help out with the relocation and packing in. All thanks to Daisy, they were able to move out from their old house to the new place, which was lively and more suitable to live in. "At this point, I feel like leaving our house in school and coming back
She unlocked the door, singing happily as she sauntered into the house, clutching her bag and a shopping package Nathan had gotten for her. Apparently, she had said yes to his proposal, so they were officially a thing. She sighted Stacy from the sitting room and hurried over to help her out. "Oh my goodness! She said loudly, almost in a scream. What happened to you? Why are you on the floor? Daisy asked very much concerned about her.Stacy limped slightly after getting up, with the help of Daisy. "I actually slipped few minutes ago and when I heard you, I became too lazy to get up." She lied. Daisy noticed the bruise on her forehead and wondered what could have really happened. "Stacy, your forehead, what happened to you? She asked, touching there lightly.Stacy immediately moved away slowly from her and covered her face with her palm. "Daisy, I said I'm fine. I only slipped. I guess I hit my head on the table at the process of falling." She replied harshly, not want
Sitting in front of his laptop in his room which was partly dark, with only a gasoline lamp that lit the room. He stared at the laptop, fascinated by what he was seeing. He grabbed a pack of popcorn sitting on the table in front of him, then sat back to chew. He stared at the laptop for a while marvelled at the description of his new assignment. He had been asked to track a particular lady and keep tabs on her, find out everything about her and everyone connected to her. It was funny to him that two of his clients were paying differently to make use of that same woman. His job was to work for all of his clients, despite the work demands, as far as it came with a very good pay. That was Lomar, the hitman. His parents had abandoned, rather, disowned him when he was still a teenager. He joined gangs from quite a tender age and every plea, punishments and torture didn't change him, but made him worse. As soon as he clocked twenty, he left home to stay with his friends in a
She grabbed her work pad and started going through the tasks. She noticed that most of the tasks she left unattended to had been taken care of. She was really glad and grateful to whoever helped her. Thinking about it, she wondered who could have done that. CEO Dash would never in his entire life handle anything that concerned her, not after wishing her dead, she sighed. "Hold on, what if he hired someone else to replace me? She gasped, as she came to the realisation that she was easily replaceable. "Oh no, did he call me to retract my contract? Her heart skipped a millionth times.Though she wished to do away with the job, deep down, she wanted it. The job had given her access to the kind of life she had only dreamt of. She sent money home weekly each time she got her pay and had been able to save some enormous amount of money like never before. She had about five more weeks to go. She prayed her hallucinations do not turn out to become a reality, as that would be a tough one
Daisy woke up in a start, disturbed by the noise from the bathroom, she couldn't go back to sleep again even though she tried. "Oh, you're awake? Stacy asked, drying her wet hair as she strolled into the room, from the bathroom. Daisy yawned lightly. "Yeah, I'm awake, big thanks to you." She replied, still on bed.Stacy stared at her, confused by the remark she had made. "What do you mean by that? Daisy got up from the bed and headed to the bathroom. "You were noisy." She answered, dragging her legs. Realising what Daisy meant she apologised. "I'm really sorry D, I didn't mean to." She said loudly so she could hear. Daisy came back to the room and sat on the bed, staring at Stacy. She noticed that she behaved a little awkward and weird, which she found suspicious. "Stacy, are you good? She asked, making it obvious that she didn't fancy the new her, if there was anything as that.Stacy smiled faintly and nodded, too weak to fake a broad smile. "Actually, I'
CEO Dash dash was seated in his private lounge in his house, a glass of wine in his hand. He sipped calmly, as he thought about how to work on something that had been bothering him. He had asked Nathan and some of his trusted allies to help him out, but all had proved abortive. He knew they had done a good job, but needed something much better than the casual responses he had been getting. It had been several weeks since he heard from his mother. His other siblings had said the same thing when he had called to complain to them. Each time he called, he would always be redirected to voicemail and he got scared. He needed to see his mother, she was the one he could easily share his ordeal with whenever he was having any issues whatsoever. His father had said that she was in her private vacation home, which she had purchased secretly, hoping to stay there and recover fully before returning home. He didn't trust his father one bit, especially coupled with the fact that he d
