Roselyn’s POV

Recently, the valley had become quieter than usual, or perhaps… I had simply learned to hear it differently.

The rustling leaves, the distant waterfall, the laughter of children running between cottages… even the silence here seemed alive. It was strange how quickly fear could become familiarity.

Only a week ago, I had been running for my life, but now… I was learning the rhythm of Whispering Haven, trying to fit in to my new home perfectly.

Roselyn’s POVRecently, the valley had become quieter than usual, or perhaps… I had simply learned to hear it differently. The rustling leaves, the distant waterfall, the laughter of children running between cottages… even the silence here seemed alive. It was strange how quickly fear could become familiarity.Only a week ago, I had been running for my life, but now… I was learning the rhythm of Whispering Haven, trying to fit in to my new home perfectly. The morning began on the field with another lesson from Darius and this time, there were no wooden staffs but he taught me more skills I can do with my hands for self defense. After many trials, we rested, he then handed me a small leather pouch.I hesitated for a while, then took it. “What is this?” I asked curiously.“Open it and look inside.” He said with a deep voice. Inside the pouch was filled with dried herbs, flint, a coil of thin rope, and a folding knife, I looked up.“Wow…is this a survival kit?” I smiled. He nodded. “If

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 37: THE MISSING PAGE

Noah’s POVThe black feather lay on my desk as It had remained untouched since the palace guard handed it to me the previous night. There was nothing remarkable about it, no unusual markings, no scent… nothing that identified its owner, yet it had been left behind by someone who had broken into the Royal Archives.Someone that is either searching for something or… Trying to make sure no one else found it. I picked it up between my fingers, the feather was ordinary but the timing was not and that bothered me more.Soon a knock sounded at my study door.“Enter.” I ordered and Captain Rowan stepped inside and bowed.“Your Highness.”“Are you done questioning the guards?” I asked because I sent him to do that“I did.” He replied “The intruder never entered through the main gates.”I frowned confusedly “What do you mean?”“No patrol saw anyone arrive.”“Then how did he reach the Archives?”Rowan hesitated. “We’re still investigating your highness.”My expression hardened. “The Royal Archiv

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 36: LESSONS IN SILENCE

Roselyn’s POVThe image of Darius’s face refused to leave my mind and It had nothing to do with the secrets or the questions he refused to answer… It was the fear. For the first time since we’d met, I’d seen genuine fear in his eyes. Not for himself— For me.It was still early in the morning when someone knocked three soft knocks on my door. I opened it to find Darius standing outside with two wooden staffs on his hands. He handed one staff to me, “Come with me.”I frowned and asked and asked if we were leaving again and he said no.“Then what’s this for?” I asked curiously.“You’ll see when we get there.” He replied with a deep voice. We walked for long and went beyond the cottages until we reached a quiet field surrounded by silver-barked trees along with grasses glistening with dew beneath the morning sun.Darius planted his staff into the ground and fixed his clothes. “I’m going to teach you some fighting skills.”I looked at the stick in my hand. “I’ve never used one of these.”“

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 35: MASKED THIEF

Noah’s POVThe Royal Archives smelled of old parchment and dust. Shelves lined the chamber from floor to ceiling, each filled with records dating back centuries. I stood before a long oak table, Spread across it were faded maps, family records, and a charcoal sketch of the strange symbol carved inside the black mask. I had spent three days searching.Three days… and not a single record mentioned it. It was as though the symbol had never existed or someone had erased every trace of it. Gideon was yet to return with information concerning the buyer, instead I got news that he went back to oakridge. Frustration was evident on my face… Soon a sharp knock broke the silence.“Enter.”A palace messenger stepped inside and bowed.“Your Highness.”“What is it?”“The King requests your presence in the council chamber.”My father stood beside the great map of the Lycan Kingdom. Several advisors had already departed, leaving only the King and Queen Selene behind. The King’s expression softened wh

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 34: THE STONE THAT REMEMBERED

Roselyn’s POVThree days… That was how long I had been in Whispering Haven. Long enough to learn the names of the villagers, Long enough to stop waking at every unfamiliar sound yet, not long enough to stop feeling like I didn’t belong. Every smile reminded me that these people knew one another, every conversation reminded me that I knew almost nothing about them… or myself.“You’re thinking too much.”I looked up to find Mara standing outside the cottage with two empty baskets.“I didn’t realize it showed.”“It always does.” She held one basket toward me. “Come.”“Where are we going?”“To gather herbs.”I smiled. “I was beginning to think everyone in this village survives on herbs.”Mara laughed. “They heal more than wounds.”The forest surrounding Whispering Haven was unlike Oakridge. Here, sunlight filtered through towering silver-barked trees. Wildflowers blanketed the ground, and tiny streams wound between moss-covered stones. Everything felt untouched, Peaceful. As they gathered

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 33: SHADOWS BEYOND THE MOUNTAINS

Roselyn’s POVThe forbidden grove haunted my thoughts. Even after returning to the cottage, I couldn’t stop thinking about the ancient stone arch or the warmth that had spread through my pendant the moment I crossed its boundary. Why had it reacted? And why had Darius looked… afraid? The next morning, Whispering Haven carried on as though nothing had happened. Children ran through the fields, Smoke drifted lazily from cottage chimneys, the rhythmic clang of the blacksmith’s hammer echoed across the valley. Only Darius seemed different. He had already left before sunrise.“Where did he go?” I asked Mara. She was hanging herbs to dry outside her home. “He had business.”“What kind of business?”“The kind he never talks about.”I sighed. “I was hoping you’d tell me.”She chuckled. “You’ll soon learn something about Darius.”“What’s that?”“He only speaks when he believes the time is right.”“And if the time never comes?”Mara’s smile faded. “Then he’ll carry the burden alone.”Determine
