I WILL DO IT

He stood up from the bed and hurried to the door with his wife following behind him. As he opened the door, Diana’s furious face appeared in front of him. She was wearing a black nightie with one hand placed on her waist as she stared at him angrily.

“What’s..what's the problem?” He asked at once.

“Where is that stupid wife of yours?!” She barked and Melisa appeared from the room.

“Are you calling my wife stupid?” Daren asked aggressively as his brows gathered.

“Yes! Come with me and see how she almost killed my son!” She slammed.

“Diana, me? Kill your son?” Melisa asked in surprise.

“What stupid accusation is this? Are you okay?!” Daren slammed in her face.

“Accusation? Accusation? Come with me and see what you did to my son!” She barked as she stormed away from them and headed out of the passage while they followed behind her slowly.

“What’s this crazy lady talking about?” Daren asked in confusion as they all walked down the stairs.

They could see Dotun in the living room with Dele on his lap as he caressed his head slowly.

“What’s the problem?” Daren asked as he walked into the living room.

“Ask your wife!” Dotun fired.

“What are you both talking about? Make it clearer!” Melisa cried anxiously.

Just then, Elsa and Charles appeared on the stairs and they both hurried down the stairs as they saw everyone gathered in the living room.

“What’s the cause of this pandemonium that has deprived me of my sleep?” She asked angrily as she walked towards them.

“Mom, I don’t know. Diana came up to our room and started accusing me of trying to kill her son,” Melisa cried.

“Diana, what’s the matter?” Charles asked as he turned to her.

“She gave Dele dark chocolates and she knew it wasn’t good for his health. The boy has been stooling and vomiting since he ate the chocolates,'' She related.

Melisa’s mouth dropped open as she stared at her in shock.

“Lisa, why did you give the boy chocolates?” Elsa asked as he turned to her angrily.

“Mom, the boy asked for it when I arrived at the house this evening. This is not my first time giving him chocolates and how was I supposed to know it’s bad for his health?” She cried with tears streaming down her face.

Elsa sighed and looked away from her.

“Diana, it’s enough. How’s the boy’s health right now?” Charles asked as he walked over to Dotun who was carrying the child.

“We’ve given him something to stop the vomiting,” Dotun replied.

“First thing tomorrow, take him to see the doctor. Enough of this debacle. Everyone, go to bed,” Elsa ordered as she turned to walk away.

“Wow, nice stunts you both pulled tonight. But the next time you dare accuse my wife of trying to kill your son, I..,” Daren tried to speak.

“You will do what?” Dotun countered as he dropped the boy from his legs and stood up to face his brother.

“Enough of this nonsense, boys. What’s wrong with you both?!” Elsa thundered as she saw them standing face to face with each other.

“I will deal with you,” Daren said in his face.

“Come on, do it. You can’t even produce a child of your own and you want to deal with me?” He asked with a scoff.

He kept silent and chuckled in disbelief as the words hit him hard.

“Daren, that’s Enough!. Dotun, to your room,” Charles commanded as he tried to separate the boys.

Just then, Daren pushed him aside and surged towards Dotun. He landed a heavy punch on his face and everyone screamed as Dotun staggered away with his palm shielding his face.

“You see? They want to kill my husband just like they tried to kill my son!” Diana cried as she rushed over to hold her husband.

“Daren! Daren! Stop it now! Stop it!” Melisa cried as she ran over to hold him back from attacking Dotun again.

“Daren, Daren, get hold of yourself!” His father urged as he grabbed hold of his hands.

Elsa rushed over to the little boy who had burst into tears and she carried him up in her arms and tried to console him.

“You..you..hit me because of your barren wife?!” Dotun slammed as he recovered from the punch.

“How dare you? How dare you open that filthy mouth of yours against me!” Melisa flared as she surged towards him like a mad woman.

“Oh shut up you bitch! Where is the lie in what he said?!” Diana slammed as she stood in front of her husband and faced Melisa who was ready for a battle.

“How dare you call me a bitch!” Melisa slammed as she dragged her hair and they both began to scuffle.

The men joined hands in the fight and the whole house was thrown into chaos. Charles tried to separate the men who were punching each other on the floor while Elsa stood with the boy in her hands as she watched the scenario.

She handed the boy over to one of the maids and she began to pant heavily.

“Get me my phone,” she ordered the maids as she walked over to the men and women fighting on the floor.

“Stop it!” Her thunderous voice sounded all over the house and they all stopped as they looked in her direction. They could see her fuming as she stood in front of them, with all the veins in her neck becoming visible.

“Stop it, now!” She thundered again and they all began to pant as they pulled away from each other.

“If this continues, then be all prepared to spend the night behind bars!” She yelled in their faces.

Daren took hold of Melisa who was beginning to weep with her hair scattered all over her face.

“And you!” Elsa yelled as she turned to face her.

“Stop playing a victim and weeping like a child! If you had a child of your own, there wouldn’t be a cause for all this nuisance! Be a woman and do the right thing!” She slammed in her face.

She looked up at her husband and her tears increased as she heard those words. He tightened his arms around her and kissed her head tenderly.

“One more noise from you all, and I will make the call,” Elsa threatened as she looked at their faces.

Charles walked over to her and held her arms as she tried to catch her breath.

“It’s enough. Dotun, take Diana and the boy to your room,” he ordered.

“Yes, dad,” he said as he grabbed Diana’s hand.

Daren took hold of Melisa’s hand but she pushed his hand away at once. She walked away from him and proceeded to the stairs immediately.

“Honey, let’s go in,” Charles said to his wife and she sighed as they both walked away.

Daren became glued to his spot with his gaze resting on the floor. He raised his face and saw Dotun and Diana staring at him sinisterly. He heaved a sigh and walked away from them.

They both kept silent and Diana walked over to the maid carrying her child.

“Babe,” Dotun whispered into her ears as they proceeded to the stairs.

“Hmm, darling,” she muttered.

“You know, the chocolate isn’t the cause of Daren’s stooling,” he whispered into her ears and she chuckled.

“It feels nice to frustrate the enemies, though,” she said with a giggle and he smiled mischievously as their eyes met.

She stood in the balcony panting heavily as she stared into the dark night. She has had enough already, she said to herself as she pushed her messy hair behind her ears. Elsa Boseman was right. She needed to be a woman and do the right thing, she said to herself as she looked at the phone in her hand. She sent the call and it was picked after the third ring.

“Hello, Rita,” she called in a low tone.

“Hey, Lisa,” Rita called grumpily

“I will do it,” she said confidently.
